Hye, Thanks for the query. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

Bring on some spices (8 months old) And softly mashed, or chopped into fine pieces, fruits, vegetables, meats, pasta and dairy such as yogurt and cheeses. Pasta, veggies, and fruit should all be soft cooked and possibly mashed with a fork or masher. (Bananas need only be mashed.) Meats and proteins such as egg yolk, should be cooked and pureed or chopped into small soft bits. If offering Tofu, you need not cook it first. Remember, your baby will not have molars until sometime around the 12-18 month age range so all foods should be easily mashed between the gums. How much will your 8 month – 10 month old baby eat? Your 8 to 10 month old baby may seem to be starving herself at some point. Because you are likely offering her more finger food selections or thicker/chunkier foods, the amount of food eaten appears smaller. At this stage, your baby may be eating 3 “meals” a day and possibly enjoying a snack or 2 in between. There are some babies in this age range who will still be eating only 1 “meal” of solids so don’t feel pressured to have your baby eat 3 solid food meals per day. The important thing is to watch your baby’s hunger cues and and try to begin setting a schedule for 3 meals a day. Offer him a balanced array of foods – fruits, veggies, a protein & a grain if possible and ensure his nursing or formula feedings are adequate. Visit the Baby Menu to see an idea of some meals for this age range. What to Eat at 8 to 10 Months of Age? AGE/STAGE – 8 months – 10 months old The AAP recommends that an infant not be started on solid foods until after 6 months of age. Many pediatricians still start babies on solids around 4 months of age. This chart accommodates all ages and stages up to 12 months. CEREALS Try mixing together the grains that your baby has had without any reaction (s). Begin offering breads and muffins when baby has mastered mashing more textured foods. Pasta makes for great finger foods. FRUITS Begin making your own fruit combinations once baby has had several fruits without any reaction (s). Venture into Papaya and Melon Swirl. After 8 months old – you may wish to try offering raw ripe fruits. Soft cooked fruits make for great beginner Baby Finger Foods. VEGGIES Soft cooked veggies make for great beginner Baby Finger Foods. Try mixing up a veggie medley now. Add some grated cheese for extra temptation & yumminess. Saute or roast some onions or peppers to add to baby’s food or serve as finger foods. Make a Leek and Chicken Potato Mash. PROTEIN Once your baby has reached 8 months old, try an Egg Yolk Omelet – the perfect chance to slip in some veggies. DAIRY Get adventurous with Cheeses and Yogurts now. Soft Cheeses such as Brie pose health risks so hold off on those. Avocado mashed with a bit of cream cheese – YUM. Breakfast ¼ – ½ cup cereal or mashed egg ¼ – ½ cup fruit, diced (if your child is self- feeding) 4–6 oz. Formula or breastmilk Snack​ 4–6 oz. Breastmilk or formula or water ¼ cup diced cheese or cooked vegetables Lunch ¼ – ½ cup yogurt or cottage cheese or meat ¼ – ½ cup yellow or orange vegetables 4–6 oz. Formula or breastmilk Snack 1 teething biscuit or cracker ¼ cup yogurt or diced (if child is self-feeding) fruit Water Dinner ¼ cup diced poultry, meat, or tofu ¼ – ½ cup green vegetables ¼ cup noodles, pasta, rice, or potato ¼ cup fruit 4–6 oz. Formula or breastmilk Before Bedtime 6–8 oz. Formula or breastmilk or water (If formula or breastmilk, follow with water or brush teeth afterward).

Good. Don't use supplements. Clean guts. Take tarunikusumakar chooran 1 tsp for two days. Light food. Greens. Walk, jog and do yoga. Increase appetite. Then take brunghnadi varg of herbal medicine. These are not supplements. Soak dried grapes 25 gm and 2 anjir overnight. Eat by chewing well in the morning daily. In season eat 250 gm fresh grapes daily morning. You need to focus on healthy foods eat foods that are loaded with vitamins, minerals, nutrients and calories. You can enrich foods with real nut butters, whole fat milk, avocado, whole wheat bread, vegetable oils, nuts, potatoes, eat more often. Increasing the amount of calories you eat each day will help to gain weight. Focus on eating each meal containing a protein then do regular exercise for fitness.

Hi, Age 26 & weight 40 kgs is very less, first we need rule out any underlining cause :- do you have normal appetite or don't feel like eating most of time, do you have habit of drinking ,smoking, any history of recreational drug abuse (marijuana or any thing like this) or any habit such as masturbation (addiction) more than normal, if any of above mentioned habit, then 1st and foremost advise will be avoid doing such things, you need to change your life style. Eat healthy diet [lot of protein diet, eat fresh fruits, take milk products ],exercise on daily basis, give time of 6-8 months to let your body recover and then only you can gain weight. Get a detailed blood investigation done and review reports with me. For any more questions you can ask me.

Do not take protein powder. I suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. Start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2. Take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3. Triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4. Amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating.

For weight gain proper nutrition is a must. 1) you can start including more milk, cow ghee, fruits & vegetables in your diet. 2) stop eating junk & processed food. 3) make a habit of consuming one well ripen banana with a cup of warm milk with a tsp of ghee. 4) eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk over night. 5) boost up your apettite by working out daily for atleast 30 mins.

Dear, you can easily get fitness and health by following simple and very important tips: 1. To get fitness, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. In morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. In lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. In evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. In night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper fitness, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. Do meditation daily to calm down your stress level. Do pranayam daily. You can take long and deep breaths atleast for 10 minutes in calm and peaceful environment. I assure you that you definitely get fitness by applying these tips and lifestyle. Be healthy.

Weird look is probably due to lean body. You will look fine if you gain some muscle mass on overall body. 1) The most important thing you can do to gain weight is to eat more calories than your body needs. You need to eat more calories than your body burns in order to gain weight. Aim for 300-500 calories per day above your maintenance level, or 700-1000 calories if you want to gain weight fast. 2) Protein forms the building blocks of your muscles. Eating sufficient protein is required to gain muscle weight instead of just fat eg fish egg meat etc 3) eat at least 3 meals per day and make sure to eat plenty of fat, carbs and protein. 4) Eat a Lot of Energy-Dense Foods and use Sauces, Spices and Condiments like nuts, dairy products, meat, tuber, fat and oil. 5) It is very important to lift heavy weights and improve your strength. This will help you gain muscle mass instead of just fat. There are several other things you can do to gain weight even faster. These include drinking milk, using weight gainer shakes, adding cream to your coffee and eating more often.

Hi, If you’re aiming to gain some strength and build muscle, you must follow the points mentioned below: 1.Start exercising. If you’re a beginner, focus on bodyweight exercises like push up, pull up and squat. The basic push up and chin up are invaluable exercises you can do with very little equipment. Increase their difficulty by adding reps or affixing weights to your legs. 2.Consume a balanced diet. It's important to eat big meals to fuel muscle growth while you're training. You’ll need to eat healthy, whole foods that will nourish and restore your muscles. Consume all types of fruits, vegetables, grains, oils and dairy products. 3.Take adequate rest. Many people take this step lightly, but it's absolutely essential when it comes to gain strength. That means you won't be able to work out as hard or lift as much as you otherwise would, not to mention you'll be more prone to injury if you're feeling sleepy. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night, possibly more depending on your individual needs, during heavy workout periods. 4.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chicken breast, egg whites, fish, pulses provide you all the protein you need without containing any unnecessary fat. 5.Focus on compound movements. Compound movements are those which engages more than one muscle group. Exercises like bench press, squat, dead lift are great examples of compound exercises to gain strength quickly. 6.Lift heavy. If your main aim is to gain strength, you’ll need to lift heavy weights in the gym and thus, lower the repetitions of your sets. Moderate-rep sets are important when training for muscle size. However, to build strength, you're going to have to train with heavier weights, meaning you'll do fewer reps. 7.Limit cardio to once or twice per week. Cardio exercises like running, swimming, and biking are great ways to keep your endurance good and your circulation healthy. However, they aren't the best exercises you can do if your goal is to gain strength. Weight training requires loads of energy, and if yours has already been used up by a long run or bike ride, you won't have enough left over to give weight training your best shot. Limit cardio to once or twice per week so your energy reserves are ready to expend on building strength.

Hi doctor, Am 24 now weighing 55 kg with height of 5’8”. To build muscle and body I went to gym, used supplements, changed my diet many times. All the above were worked, I was slowly growing weight and muscle. Am satisfied with that pace. My usual diet to put on weight were: 1) Peanut butter with whole wheat bread 2) Bananas 3) Egg whites 4) Milk 5) Dry fruits 6) Whey protein (At times) etc. I have acne also. Along with growth in body, my acne is getting increased due to which I am suspending all the above practices. I could’t manage both ACNE & WEIGHT GAINING. Please help me out in this problem.

Hi lybrate-user, There are many reasons of acne. If you want to fading away acne, you have to strictly follow diet, yoga and medicine chart. Then Ayurveda helps you for weight gain and acne both. Avoid oily and spicy food. Away yourself from anger, stress, tension, excessive work etc. Good sleep also required.
