It must be sciatic pain ie. The nerve gets compressed in the low back. For that conservative management would be ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medications which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we might have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Dont take black salt for 10 times a day. Use it twice a day. Lemon & honey can be used more also but avoid black salt.

1 year back , I was 105 kgs . I did extensive training swimming, diet control and I reached 70 KGS . But my tummy is still there. It's a loose tummy and looks as if it belongs to 100 kg guy. I have done everything. Please suggest how to cut these fat cells.

Hi firstly congratulations on this wonderful achievement. Next challenge you can work on is to firm up your ab muscles. As per your height, your ideal weight should be around 58-62, so you still have to reduce some more. However right now, do not focus much on reduction. Now focus on exercise and firming up. Do 60 mins exercise everday. Out of that 40 mins cardio - running / jogging/ cycling / treadmill and 20 mins, crunches, sit ups and other abs exercises. This will help you to reduce your ab area. Take a measurement now and measure after every two weeks. All the best.

If your job is of standing for long time - use shoes appropriately which give less stress on long-time standing. Try to reduce weight lit bit. Check if back pain is associated with if it is you need to take treatment for back. If you have nodules in your calf region get advice from general medicine doctor. All the best!

Hi . I think you may be suffering from plantar fascitis or calcaneal spur. Take an xray, it may shoe extra bone growth in your heel if its calcaneal spur. First we concentrate on pain relieving by 7 days of ultrasound therapy. Meanwhile you can do contrast bath bath i. E. Immerse your leg in luke warm water with pinch of salt for 10mins then cold water for 10mins. Do it 3 times per week. When the pain completely subsides then do strengthening of sole of foot muscles by crushing towel by placing it under your sole on floor. Dont wear heels, use soft sole slippers.

Try few things for your back pain: - Apply Ice and Heat Heating pads and cold packs can comfort tender trunks. Most doctors recommend using ice for the first 48 hours after an injury -- particularly if there is swelling — and then switching to heat. You can use whichever you find comforting as long as your skin is protected. - Limit Bed Rest Studies show that people with short-term low-back pain who rest feel more pain and have a harder time with daily tasks than those who stay active. -Keep Exercising Activity is often the best medicine for back pain. Simple exercises like walking can be very helpful. But remember to move in moderation, Stay away from strenuous activities like gardening and avoid whatever motion caused the pain in the first place. -Maintain Good Posture most people have poor posture when going about their daily activities, putting unnecessary strain on their backs. -Strengthen Your Core Most people with chronic back pain would benefit from stronger abdominal muscles. If the abdominals are weak, other areas must pick up the slack. When we strengthen the abdominals, it often reduces the strain on the lower back. - Improve Flexibility Too much tension and tightness can cause back pain. By increasing flexibility you need to put an equal load throughout the body from the feet all the way up to the head. -Sleep the Right Way The amount of rest you get is important, and so is the position you get it in. Sleeping in a bad position or on a mattress without support can cause back pain. Back sleepers should put pillows under their knees. Side sleepers should place pillows between their knees to keep their spine in a neutral position. Stomach sleeping causes the neck and head to twist and can put undue stress on the back. -Use Relaxation Techniques Research shows that practices such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga, which help put the mind at rest, can do wonders for the back. -See a Specialist Developing an individualized exercise plan is essential to managing chronic back pain. Some patients need more core strengthening while others benefit mainly from stretching and improving flexibility. Please consult a Orthopedic Physiotherapist for the right exercise plan. Best wishes.

I have disc degeneration/disc bulgeing problem in cervical spine between c6/c7 from july 14. Now, I am having pain in neck continuously just like a pin penetrate in neck area. Its stops only bed rest for 8 hrs in night and early morning 2 to 4 hrs. Now I am taking medicine as suggested by doctor is moven meloxicam 15 mg 1 time in day and neurochem 1 in night. But as per my exp. My pain intensity get reduced when my head doesn't move much in day hrs. When I try to run slowly, pain intensity increased. Let me know when I will be normal. I have tried pshyotharpy too for 2 days only as my symptoms got worse after it. So immediately stopped. My symptoms history as below. 1. First 3 days just have a head stuck. 2. Then started litte bit pain in neck for 1 week (i assume may be this due to wrong posture during sleep) 3. After 2 week, sudden pointed pain, tingling was observed in my left arm. But occationally. I cant understand what is going on with my left hand. So I first contacted cardiologist to check my heart. But all test was normal. 4. Then I went to neurophysician and said all symptoms he has done ncv test and neck x ray but said all is well. So no prob at my end. Almost 2 month was completed and now my neck pain, tingling in left arm was increasing day to day. From my left hand, I was not able to hold my laptop bag more than 30 sec. It feel more than 100 kg for me I was going for swimming in that days too. 5. Then I went to orthopaedic doc. While just listing my all symptoms he said you must have issue in neck cervical disc. He immediately sent me to mri and my surprize, we really found now prob. There was my pinched nerve. Defination I found on net: when a patient has a symptomatic herniated disc, the disc itself is not painful, but rather the material that is leaking our of the inside of the disc is pinching or irritating a nearby nerve. This type of pathology produces pain called radicular pain (e. G, nerve root pain) leading to pain that may radiate to other parts of the body, such as from the low back down the leg or from the neck down the arm. Leg pain from a pinched nerve is usually described as sciatica. But it may be termed as disc degeneration / disc bulging. Whatever. 5. Now, I am just wearing a neck collar and have that two medicine. Symptoms are reduced 70%. Now no any left arm pain. But only neck pain. What is the best way to get out of this neck pain?

pain is complex, so there are many treatment options medications, therapies, and mind-body techniques. There is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. Low Back Pain- A common modern day epidemic
We regularly come across, frequent questions about back pain, and it remedy.
The concern of the patient is more related to the fear of something wrong, rather than the pain itself, which may be quite bearable. Before you go to consult to your doctor for your back problem, go though the checklist mentioned here, and you will be easily able to make out if your problem needs treatment or a good physiotherapy and life style modification.

Lets start with the statics.
1) back pain the most common reason for people to consult physician.
2) majority of them (and believe me about 80 to 85%) are functional which means they are not a disease but are due to improper lifestyle.
3) 10 to 15% of them are related to some pathology, and only these patients need medical help.

I know the next question in your mind, how do I know if my back pain need further consultation from a doctor, or I just want to need a physio and life style modification.

If you have any of these signs then you need consultation with a doctor.
1) duration of back pain more than 2 months.
2) localized back pain with stiffness in the morning,
3) pain not getting resolved despite good physio efforts and life style modifications
4) pain in the back with radiation to one of the legs, ie leg pain with back pain.
5) back pain associated with fever, appetite loss, or weight loss.
6) back pain with pain mainly in the night, and it arises you from sleep.
7) any association of weakness in the legs or numbness on walking.

Posture correction while work is the major remedy for postural back pain and this group is quite large.
1) use firm mattress for rest. Not a very soft one.
2) adequate support to the back while sitting on the chair, back should be kept straight but not strained.
3) regular back muscle strengthening exercises is must with this group.

When your back pain is not functional, then a consultation with your doctor is a must, most of the time the first doctor we consult is a physician, these days people are getting aware and consult an orthopaedic or a neuro surgeon. My advise is to consult a spine surgeon who are trained specially to deal with such problems. The usual examination is followed by certain blood tests and radiological investigations, like x rays and mri scanning. Out of these pathological type majority will not need surgery.

Keep strengthening your back, and prevent back pain. Remember physiotherapy (exercises) are to be done to prevent back pain and not to cure it.

Nowadays leg pain is a very common complaint in young adults because of there daytoday activities. It can be due to various reasons any injury, muscle strain eg-sudden twist, overuse of muscle or due to deficiency of vit b12, calcium or uric acid. Many of the problem occurs for which we are not aware. After looking at your pain I would recommend you to go for investigations like vit d, b12 etc which is very common problem these days. In the meantime please take care of following things along with some home treatment to give you relief from your pain. Precautions: 1. Avoid prolong standing. 2. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 3. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine, 4. Drink plenty of water to enhance your muscle strengthen. 5. While sleeping try to elevate your leg inorder to maintain blood circulation. 6. When sitting on chair in office or work place try to use small stool under your leg to avoid leg hanging as gravity applies direct pressure due to which it creates a tension in muscles and your legs start paining. Physio care: I would recommend you for some home treatment which will give you some percent of pain relief. Take rest- it doesn't mean a complete bed rest. Do not over exert your body. Work take rest and then work so that you do not feel tired and started paining. Treatment- 1. Make use of hot packs and ice packs alternately. Apply with the ratio of 3: 2 which means 3 min ice then 2 min heat. Ice has very good results in relieving pain than heat so combination of both gives you complete relax. As ice reduces pain and heat stimulates blood flow around the affected area. Entire session should be for 15-20 minutes twice a day. 2. Once done with the combination therapy ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Now start some stretching and strengthening exercises like hamstring sets, quadriceps sets, knee bending, calf stretching, heel toe raising, ankle dorsiflexion/plantarflexion stretch. Start with these exercises and then progress. While performing exercises if severe pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain as he/she can guide you proper exercise plan which will be beneficial for you after checking grade of your leg pain. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.
