Diet, exercise along with herbal preparations will be effective in reducing weight, need to attend the gym if possible, simple morning and evening walk may be effective. Strict observance of diet is important along with your mental determination and attitude.

While cancer has become a common place disease, most of its causes remain unknown. Most of us are not aware that few regular everyday materials present in most households are potential causes of cancer. Lets know about them, the health hazards they can cause, and be aware.
Check this list.

1. Shower curtains - shower curtains are made of toxic chemicals which get into not only the shower or the bath but also into the environment. It emits harmful chemicals which are called voc (volatile organic chemicals) and can prove to be very harmful for us.

2. Deodorants - deodorants and antiperspirants are known to have various ingredients which have cancerous properties. These sprays stay on our bodies for hours, until we wash them off. While on our bodies, they chemicals harm our skin and even through it.

3. Strong shampoos - many shampoos contain toxic chemicals though there is no scientific proof that they cause cancer. However, the array of chemicals used to make shampoos is definitely harmful for us and best, if avoided.

4. Room fresheners - air-fresheners, like deodorants have vcos which are toxic and extremely harmful for us. They aggravate asthma and even affect reproductive development. They have hazardous components which can be cancerous. It is advisable to use essential oils.

5. Scented candles - scented candles mostly have wicks made of lead. While they serve a good purpose, there is no point in using something which gives momentary relief but can prove hazardous in the long run.

6. Certain paints - permanent markers, acrylic paints, solvents, etc contain hazardous chemicals which have been associated with occurrences of cancer, allergies and oral damages.

7. Gardening chemicals - household pesticides, herbicides or fungicides that we often use in gardens can contain carcinogenic materials which are believed to cause lymphomas and breast cancer (in animal models).

8. Plastic food/beverage containers - plastic materials containing bpa, or bisphenol a are believed to dangerous for health. So when one is using plastic bottle or food container make sure it is bpa free.

9. Nonstick cookware - cooking utensils which are made with a nonstick coating (teflon) is suspected to be a carcinogen. The main chemical in nonstick coatings is perfluorooctanoic acid (pfoa) is known to cause cancer. Glass, cast iron, copper, and ceramic or pfoa free nonstick cookwares are safe.

Dear Lybrate user. Weight loss happens with dietary modifications, some regular physical activity and behavioral modifications. It will not be feasible to chart out a customized diet plan for you here. For that you can consult us directly. But will share some tips which might be uselful for you- (1). Include foods with low calorie density in every meal- Add fresh fruits / vegetables to each meal, Choose low-fat, high-fiber foods which fill you up with minimal calories. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes are high-volume foods. Avoid processed food as far as possible (2). Hydrate yourself. Get a water bottle and carry it with you everywhere you go. (3). Enhance your Breakfast and do not miss it (4.) Stop eating meals while watching TV (5).Have at least 5 small meals a day in place of 3 big ones to keep your metabolic rate high (6). Pack your meals. Ayurveda is a system of medicine that takes a holistic approach to treat various diseases. It is believed in Ayurveda that when a disease occurs in your body then it means that the mind, body and soul is unbalanced. 

It is believed that everyone is made up of five elements that is  earth, air, water, ether and fire. If all of these elements in the body are well balanced, then the body tends to function in a healthy manner. An illness is a sign that one or multiple elements in the body are not balanced. A practitioner carries out a diagnosis of your diet, lifestyle, seeks to find out the cause of the imbalance and provides treatment accordingly. 
Diabetes is a condition in the body, which is characterized by blood sugar spikes that result in the body being unable to use the glucose in the body. 

The various symptoms of diabetes are outlined below

  1. Fatigue: You may experience fatigue as the glucose in the body will not be effectively utilized.
  2. Frequent urination: You may urinate frequently because of the presence of excess glucose in the blood.
  3. Weight gain: You may experience weight gain.
  4. Bruises take longer time to heal: Injuries take more time to heal if there is too much glucose concentration in the body.

The various ayurvedic remedies for diabetes are

  1. Eating bitter gourd with ghee is good for bringing down blood sugar levels.

  7. You should exercise on a regular basis; activities such as running, strength training and yoga will help you manage diabetes better
  8. Consume lots of green vegetables and herbs as they assist in insulin production.

I love to eat but I wanna decrease my body weight. Specially belly fat. So give me some suggestions about this.
Do crunches and pushups daily to reduce belly fat. Take high fiber low fat diet. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. You can take healthy recipes at regular intervals if you are food lover ask me privately for detailed diet plan.

My thyroid level is normal. I don't eat much. I avoid junk foods from childhood. I have Veg mostly. But my weight has increased by 7 kgs in 6 months after I started going to CA classes and articleship. Can any one suggest me why is that happened. How can I stop this. How can I go back to my normal weight? I even stated going for a walk but no changes. Please help me doctors.

Hi lybrate-user, Increase your physical activity along with these home remedies to control your weight. 1) Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 2) Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 3) Take a tablespoon of honey daily with warm water. It is an excellent home remedy for obesity 4) Take one teaspoonful of fresh honey and mix with a half of lime juice in a glass of lukewarm water. Take several times a day at regular intervals. You can fast on this drink during the day without the loss of energy. Highly effective in obesity.
