The Relationship Between Type 2 Diabetes and High Blood Pressure!

Hypertension or High Blood Pressure can trigger as well as worsen complications related to diabetes. Most people suffering from diabetes tend to develop hypertension later in their lives. Diabetes tends to increase one’s blood pressure, making him/her even more vulnerable to other heart diseases and cardio-vascular disorders. Diabetes often leads to a condition known as atherosclerosis, which is the hardening of the arteries. A combination of diabetes and hypertension drastically increases the risk of suffering from a heart disease. The risks of kidney diseases and retinopathy (damage to the tiny blood vessels present in the retina) also go up, resulting in blindness. With age, chronic hypertension can also result in numerous cognitive disorders such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease (degenerative mental disorder).

Diabetes and high blood pressure complications-

Having diabetes increases your risk of developing high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems, because diabetes adversely affects the arteries, predisposing them to atherosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries). Atherosclerosis can cause high blood pressure, which if not treated, can lead to further blood vessel damage, and stroke, heart failure, heart attack or kidney failure.

Compared with people with normal blood pressure readings, men and women with hypertension have an increased risk of:

  • Coronary artery disease ( heart disease)
  • Strokes
  • Peripheral vascular disease (narrowing of the arteries in the legs and feet)
  • Heart failure

Even high yet normal blood pressure or pre-hypertension (defined as 120-139/ 80-89 millimetres of mercury or mmHg) has an impact on your health. Studies show that people with normal yet high range blood pressure readings, over a 10-year period of follow up time, had a two to three-fold increased risk of heart disease.

How to prevent Diabetes and Hypertension?

  1. Walking for about 40 minutes each day or engaging in any type of aerobic exercise can better one’s heart health. Chalk out an exercise plan upon consulting the doctor
  2. Limit drinking and abstain from smoking
  3. Go for regular kidney check-ups
  4. Eat food rich in fiber such as vegetables, fruits, breads or whole grain cereals
  5. Examine blood pressure as well as blood sugar levels regularly at home
  6. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation or yoga to cut down on stress level; as stress is one of the major contributors to diabetes and the subsequent hypertension
  7. Shed off your extra pounds as blood pressure escalates with weight

Hi, u, are obeased by 30 kg, approx. I will suggest you to eat nutritious home made food with adequate fluid intake and Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong , chana , Dal , rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit

If you want to increase your weight, eat nutrient & calorie dense foods like malts, premix, cheese, nuts, oilseeds, whole egg, milkshake, fruit juice, dry fruits at frequent intervals (every 2-3 hours). You can join gym & do resistance training. This will help increase your lean weight & improve appetite as well. avoid smoking/ alcohol/ gutka/ pan masala.

Dear, you can get a healthy muscular body by following methods: - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid smoking & alcohol drinkg completely. 6. You can try protein powders like milk powder, soya protein for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day. I assure you that you definitely gain weight fastly by following them. Age about 49 1st time test diabetics fasting result comes 326 post prandial comes 542 pleased suggest the medicine for reduce to normal level and give some idea over restricted food.

This is quite high and you would require other investigation related to diabetes. Usually patient are started on metformin plus other medicine based on other report however if you have symptoms also you might as well require insulin for some time.
