To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow this regimen and you will soon start seeing the results.

Tackling obesity is not too tough. You don?t need to subscribe to expensive treatments to reduce obesity or to be completely cured. There are simple home remedies which can give you an absolute cure from obesity 1.The golden rule of weight loss is never to skip breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day and helps to provide a steady stream of energy all through the day. This, in turn, prevents unhealthy snacking. 2. To prevent obesity, there is no better option than physical exercise. Brisk walking is the best exercise to begin with. As soon as you wake up in the morning, workout for at least 30mins to an hour. Burn up unwanted calories by putting large leg muscles to work. 3. Honey is considered to be an outstanding home remedy. Make a mixture of two teaspoon of lime juice, one teaspoon of honey, in a glass of water, add some pepper to it & have it regularly the first thing in the morning. 4. Stop nibbling between meals. Train yourself to have less food. You will enjoy living on a reduced diet. Instead of eating only 2 meals during the day like lunch & dinner, try to eat 4-5 more small meals spaced 2-3 hours apart during the day. This helps to increase the metabolic rate of the body. 5. Spices like ginger, cinnamon, black pepper etc. are good for losing weight. Drink ginger tea 2-3 times a day. It is also a good remedy for obesity. 6. Two teaspoon of lime juice added to water also helps in losingweight. Have it frequently. Drink a glass of boiled water daily after every meal. It will also help you in naturally curing obesity. 7. Your diet should include green leafy vegetables, tomatoes and carrots. They are low in calories, but high in vitamins and minerals and have real food value. Increase the quantity of fruits and vegetables and low calorie foods that fill you up. Eat a tomato salad for breakfast. It can bring about fast weight loss. 8. Try to eat 10-12 fully grown curry leaves every morning for 3 to 4 months. It may prove beneficial for the obese in losing weight. 9.Taking whole grains like ragi can be helpful in decreasing the constant desire to eat, thus, reducing the daily calorie intake. It has a low glycemic index and can help to suppress appetite. 12. Chew a thin slice of fresh ginger root a few minutes before meals. Or grate a little ginger, mix with some lemon juice and salt, and eat a pinch or two.

First of all stop chewing gutkha. Indigestion, also known by the medical term dyspepsia, is due to a problem in the secretion of digestive juices in the stomach. Usually indigestion occurs after eating spicy or fatty foods or overeating. It can also be triggered or made worse due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, stress or anxiety, obesity, ulcers, stomach infection, thyroid disease, smoking and certain medications. Some symptoms of indigestion are bloating, gas, growling stomach, abdominal pain, burning sensation in the upper abdomen, acidic taste and vomiting. You can easily get relief from indigestion symptoms using ingredients from your pantry. For instance, sipping a little water at the first sign of indigestion can give you some relief as it helps increase the gastric pH. Home remedies for indigestion There are also many other remedies that can be used to treat indigestion. Here are the top 10 home remedies for indigestion. Also, consult your doctor to rule out the possibility of a more serious condition. (Out of the 10, we have covered 3 highly effective home remedies in this video.) 1. Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is often used to kick start a slow stomach. Though acidic in nature, it also has an alkalizing effect that helps settle indigestion. Indigestion home remedy acv Add one tablespoon of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a cup of water. Mix in one teaspoon of raw honey. Drink this solution two to three times a day for quick relief. 2. Fennel Seeds Fennel seeds can be really helpful for indigestion caused by very spicy or fatty food. Fennel seeds contain volatile oils that can help reduce nausea and control flatulence. Dry roast, grind, and sieve fennel seeds. Take half a teaspoon of this powder along with water. Follow this remedy twice daily. Alternatively, you can drink fennel tea, made by steeping two teaspoons of crushed fennel seeds in a cup of hot water. Another option is to simply chew a spoonful of fennel seeds for symptom relief. 3. Ginger Ginger stimulates digestive juices and the flow of enzymes that help you digest your food. This makes ginger an effective remedy for indigestion, especially when it is caused by overeating. In fact, as a preventive measure, you can sprinkle salt on some fresh ginger slices and chew it thoroughly after eating a heavy meal. Take two teaspoons of ginger juice, one teaspoon of lemon juice, and a pinch of table salt and black salt. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and consume it with or without water, whatever suits you. Another option is to add two teaspoons of ginger juice and one teaspoon of honey to a cup of warm water and drink it. You can also drink homemade ginger tea to get relief from bloating, cramps, gas and stomach aches. To make ginger tea, boil one teaspoon of grated ginger in a cup of water for 5 to 10 minutes. Adding ginger as a spice in your recipes can also help if you are suffering from indigestion. 4. Baking Soda Indigestion often happens due to high levels of stomach acids. Baking soda is one of the most simple and effective treatments for this problem because it acts like an antacid. Stir one-half teaspoon of baking soda into half a glass of water. Drink this solution to neutralize the acid in your stomach and give your relief from bloating. 5. Carom Seeds Carom seeds, also known as Bishop’s weed or ajwain, have digestive and carminative properties that help treat indigestion, flatulence and diarrhea. Grind together some carom seeds and dried ginger into a fine powder. Add one teaspoon of this powder and a little black pepper to a cup of warm water and drink it. Do this once or twice a day. Simply eating one-half teaspoon of carom seeds can also provide relief from indigestion. 6. Herbal Tea Drinking herbal tea after eating a heavy meal can greatly reduce indigestion. Dip your favorite herbal tea bag into a hot cup of water and cover it for five minutes. Drink it while it is still warm. Peppermint tea and chamomile tea, in particular, help calm your stomach and relieve digestive problems. 7. Cumin cumin seeds Cumin has a long history of use as an Ayurvedic remedy for digestive problems including indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, and flatulence. It stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes that aid digestion. Mix one teaspoon of roasted cumin seed powder in a glass of water and drink it. For heaviness in the stomach, add one-quarter teaspoon each of roasted cumin seed powder and black pepper to a glass of buttermilk and drink it two or three times a day for a few days. 8. Coriander coriander seeds Coriander is an effective spice to treat indigestion as it promotes the production of digestive enzymes and helps calm the stomach. Add one teaspoon of roasted coriander seed powder to a glass of buttermilk and drink it once or twice a day. To reduce acidity in the stomach, extract the juice of fresh coriander leaves and mix one teaspoon of this juice in one cup of buttermilk. Drink it two or three times a day. 9. Basil Leaves basil Basil is an excellent Ayurvedic remedy for indigestion and acid reflux. It also helps relieve intestinal gas, thanks to its carminative properties. Add one teaspoon of basil to a cup of hot water and allow it to steep for 10 minutes. Drink up to three cups of this tea a day. Mix 5 or 6 ground basil leaves, ¼ teaspoon of sea salt and a little black pepper powder in 2 to 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Consume it 2 or 3 times a day. 10. Cinnamon cinnamon This readily available spice can be of great help when suffering from indigestion. Cinnamon helps in the digestive process and can provide relief from cramps and bloating. Make a cup of cinnamon tea by adding one-half teaspoon of cinnamon powder to a cup of boiling water and let it steep for a few minutes. Drink it while it is still warm for best results. These home remedies will help alleviate symptoms of indigestion. However, if you have intense abdominal pain or excessive vomiting, consult a doctor right away. Additional Tips Eat smaller and more frequent meals. Eat slowly. Avoid extremely spicy and fatty foods. Avoid binge eating. Do not lie down immediately after a meal. Cut back on your alcohol consumption. Stop smoking. Manage stress. Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy weight. Discuss with your doctor about changing the medications that tend to irritate the stomach lining. Try to cut back on pain relievers.

Hello lybrate-user, I understand your concern. Most people who are fat are made to feel that it is because you lack will power, you are lethargic and a weak person. But that is definitely not true. It is your your hormones which have made you fat and keeping you fat. Unless we make correct diagnosis and and create a diet and lifestyle plan to correct that hormonal abnormalities you will not be able to lose weight for long term. Avoid all junk food and all sweet food. Low fat diet does not work for majority of people. Eat wholesome nutritious food full of fibers, good quality fat like ghee and coconut etc. Don't focus on calories but on nutritional density and diversity. Simultaneously working on exercise and diet will surely help. Best rate to lose weight is 1/2 kg per week. If that happens, it is least likely to go high again in future. You do not have to do rigorous exercise to lose weight but start with something small. Let us say 8 minute workout. Trying to lose weight in very short time will need some form of crash diet. Even if you lose weight doing this kind of crash diet, you will get it all back within no time and all the gain will be mainly fat. Not good for your health. Be gentle and patient with yourself. Demonstrate commitment in your persistent efforts. Make comprehensive change in diet, exercise, sleep and stress in your routine. This is called lifestyle medicine. If you can not do it on your own, find some expert who can help you in this over extended period of time.
