Dear lybrate-user, namaskar, this occurs due to disturbed blood circulation. An imbalance of blood (more) coming down to the part and blood (less) returning back from there. You must do contrast bath, two times a day. Take two buckets full of hot and cold (ice in it) water. Put both the feet (up to calves) first in hot for one minute (move the toes and ankles actively) and then in cold for one minute (move the parts actively). To be done for about 15-20 minutes. After few minutes when hot water becomes cold. Add boiling water to make it hot again and add ice to the other bucket (more the difference in temp. Better is the result). After it is done. Massage the affected side from the foot down. Above (proximal) to the calf with mustard (or any oil) for 5 minutes. Wipe them and apply elastic bandages support 4" x 2 from toes to the calf. The elastic support is to be worn whole day and should be taken out only at night. Keep two pillows under the leg at night. Keep on doing the exercises (seek advice of a physio. Avoid keeping the foot hanging. If unavoidable. Keep on moving the toes actively up and down while sitting. The problem should settle in 4-6 weeks. Always wear the elastic support from waking to sleeping time and never allow the swelling to occur even for few minutes. Because the fluid causing the swelling makes home in the tissues of the affected part (foot and ankle. We have to get that home obliterated and collapsed by observing the advised discipline. Else it finds it's way again and the swelling persists for longer time. Take care. You can revert back to me after 10-15 days with the result of the advised ordeal. To be done religiously. Take care.

I am 62 years male. I am diabatic. I am taking medecine for last 5 years. It is glimaday and metaday. Now for last 15 days sugar level on fasting is 200 and pp is 260. Please advice.

Dear your medicines are not able to control your b. Sugar levels. Fasting should be<140 and pp<180. You need further add on/change of medicines now. Raised blood sugar does harm if kept so for a long time.

Dear, if you tired very fast and feeling weakness. Then you will definitely recover from weakness by following these very useful tips. * you should take proper balanced diet first. That means you have to take vegetables, milk, chapattis or rice, butter / cream, cereals (daals) or cheese every day. Very important thing, do not miss or skip your meals at any cost and take meals on time. * proper 6-8 hours sleep is very important. If your sleep is less than 6 hours, then you feel tired very early. So complete your sleep. * do breathing execises daily in morning & evening. Just sit down in peaceful place, close your eyes, take deep and long breaths in and out. Do it atleast for 10-15 minutes daily. You can also do pranayams like anulom vilom for better results. *take a walk, in first walk normally for 10-15 minutes for 15 days. You can do it on treadmill also. * you can take ashvagandha churn of baidyanath 1 teaspoon with milk daily for 2 months atleast to get your strength back. * check out your haemoglobin level in 3 months, if it is low you get tired early. So get treatment of low haemoglobin (anemia). If you have any disease like asthma /diabetes / hypertension, then get complete treatment of them. * avoid all fast foods and habit of smoking or drinking. You surely get great strength and recover from weakness by following these important things.

It is important for you to have a healthy and balanced body in order to perform your daily activities well. People often think health supplements are efficient alternatives to a healthy diet and regular physical exercise while most of the doctors and nutritionists believe that there is no need for any health supplement if you take in right quantity and quality of food and engage in regular exercise. While health supplements are not alternatives to a healthy lifestyle, they are somewhat necessary for everyday health in the hectic lifestyles of today.

Nowadays, stress (learn more about for Controlling Everyday STRESS) is a constant companion and the foods that we consume are often not of proper quality. You may think that you are taking foods full of nutrients but pesticides and chemicals used farming diminish the nutrient content from the crops. This creates a necessity for taking health supplements for the proper nourishment of body.People with certain medical conditions also need supplements. Supplements fill the gap in your diet.

Beneficial health supplements:

  1. Pregnant women and breastfeeding (leanr more about the Benefits of Breastfeeding) women need iron supplements. Folic acid can be supplemented in your diet in order to reduce the chances of birth defects.

So it is necessary to have a proper examination of the body before you take health supplements. The risk factors include: 

  1. Taking vitamin B6 regularly in excess of 100 mg may lead to damage of your nerves
  2. Taking 400 international units of vitamin E on a regular basis increases the health risk and may even lead to premature death
  3. Taking multivitamins does not supplement poor eating habits. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult the doctor.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. MASTURBATION is normal, natural and never unhealthy. But Excess masturbation can kill your sexual stamina. Excess masturbation can also cause anxiety disorder, depression and thereby erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation etc. You can be sure; there are no side effects to masturbation if you are able to restrict it to thrice a week. My wife is suffering with diabetes and hypertension since 2004 at present average blood glucose is 191. 51 mg/dl hba1c 8. 3 creatinine 2. 8 cholesterol 260 medicine she takes metaglez, bp cure 25 minipress xl 5mg when bp is <145/90 . suggest me medicine for lowering creatinine.

Please stop metaglez. Reduce salt intake. Keep blood sugar and bp under control. This action may tend to reduce serum creatinine level. To control sugar, please consult a good diabetologist.

You feel tired because you body clock is not right. First set your body clock right. Sleep on time and wake up on time. Eat all your meals on time and have an early dinner (2 hours before sleeping). Eat lots of fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Eat an apple as soon as you wake up. This kicks up your energy levels. Start doing exercises and yoga to gain some strength.

You need to have a diet and exercise plan based on your bmi, age & weight and sex, presence of any diseases. There are exercises specific for each part of body like hips, thighs or abdomen/or chest. There are matters to be discussed persoanlly. Comprehensive exercise& diet plan based on whether vegetarian /non vegetarian can be given. May also need to do some tests. In brief, weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/4 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. Diet chart timing foods to eat calories early morning lukewarm water with lemon 1 glass 0 tea without sugar + 2 biscuits 90 breakfast 2 rotis + 1/2 cup paneer curry 330 or brown bread upma 1 plate + milk 1 cup 300 mid-morning 1 banana/1/2 cup melon/20 grapes 50 lunch brown rice 1 cup (195 gm) + mixed vegetables 1/2 cup + salad 1 bowl + raita 1 small bowl 345 evening butter milk 1 cup 35 dinner 2 rotis + vegetable soup 1 bowl + salad 1 bowl 370 total 1220/1190 cal.

hello in order to gain weight, you need to do some workouts along with healthy diet and whey protein powder. start your day with peanut butter sandwich, take banana shake as mid meal. eat lots of fruits. drink plenty of water. take chapati with cheese curry as main meal. take veggies in form of salads. sleep for 7-9 hours per night you can see changes in a month thank u

Hi! If you are slim then it is ok but if you are slim and weak then don't ignore. Eat eggs, nonvegetarian, milk and dry fruits like cashews and almonds Eat ghee based home prepared sweets Add cheese and paneer to your diet Drink water( 4 to 6 glasses) Join gym you can improve your fitness. Some people that have high metabolic rate they don't gain weight how much ever they eat. If you fit in to that category please don't worry But don't go for any weight gaining pills or tonics etc they are very dangerous in the long run. If you are healthy and free of diseases then be great full for that Don't worry about the rest

Dear to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Do this daily for at least three months. 4. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 6. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 10 min per asana. 7. Do running early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 8. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 9. Replace refined flour with whole-wheat flour and rice with brown rice or parboiled rice.

Hello, Thanks for the query. If diabetes (blood glucose) is not in control and if patient has high blood glucose, then a considerable glucose is lost through urine (glycosuria), this can cause severe tiredness and weight loss. It is necessary to maintain FBG <100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. Then all the related symptoms can be in control. As regards the low hemoglobin (7.6 g%, that too is too low. This can also contribute to feeling weak and tired, plus to weight loss. She needs immediate correction of her Hb level, either by giving packed cells (RBCs), or Iron Injections plus oral supplements. Also investigations have to be done to find out is there any cause for iron loss or is there any bleeding problem. So better to visit your local good hospital and get the treatment. Thanks.
