I am 63 years old. Have diabetes and underwent bypass surgery 8 years back. I am taking Ecosprin 150 after Lunch per day. Taking regular medicine, do walking for 40 mins, do exercise for 40 mins. I now find a problem, that my left thumb is shivering/shaking when I hold anything (plates, etc) by my left hand. Why this happens? What is the remedy for it?

Shaking/shivering of Lt thumb while holding any thing by Lt hand. It may be due to carpal tunnel syndrome. Consult orthopedic surgeon Avoid extra pressure on your wrist joint which happens when you hold some thing on your left hand.

Hi lybrate-user reduce your inches 1 teaspoonful dhaniya seed powder 1 teaspoonful flaxseed powder 1/2 teaspoon meti seed powder 1/4 teaspoon kala jeera powder method: - mix all the mixture in 1 glass of water overnight and boiled this mixture early morning for 10 minutes. to gain weight it is not about eating too much, but eat high energy and protein dense food frequently in small portions. 1 start eating high energy high protein food. Like almond, ground nut, dry coconut, cashew nut ,milk and milk products etc 2 Do not take stress, If you are suffering from any kind of stress do yoga and meditation 3 Quite smoking or any kind of tobacco . 4 Eat food which is less in fiber so it can be digested easily and make you hungry again. 5 instead of eating large quantities of food in single meal take small portions of food frequently above are some common instruction but for definite result you need individual diet and exercise schedule. To loose weight u need to do regular exercise, that may b yoga, brisk walk, aerobics, swimming etc. Along with this dietary restrictions r must, avoid oily, fried food, fast food, junk food,sweets,canned food. Avoid night watching. Drink 3-4 lit of water daily. Increase fibre content of ur meals, include a bowl of salad and curd to it. To get in shape, u need to focus on that particular area, ie u need a abs workout. Homoeopathic medicine will help u to loose weight, follow my advice and for medicines consult privately. TC

To remain healthy you should follow 3 steps in your life 1.BALANCED DIET 2.EARLY MORNING BRISK MORNING WALK for 30 minutes and 10 minutes evening walk after Dinner 3.DRINK 6-8 Glasse of water daily. As 60% of our body is made of water, it acts as a carrier of essential nutrients inside our body. Loosing as little as 5% of body's weight as water can cause headache, fatigue and lower your muscle strength. To stay healthy, an adult should drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Balanced Diet= 60% Carbohydrates + 20% Fats + 20% Proteins 1. Carbohydrates: Our main source of energy. Stored in liver and muscles. Carbohydrates are used the most by our body duringexercise. Hence, it is important for people who exercise regularly to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates. (a) Instant/rapid carbohydrates energy sources: Banana, Milk, Sweets, Sugarcane juice. Dear excessive weight gain ocurs only when calories intake are more than calories burnt, to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Do this daily for at least three months. 4. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 6. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 10 min per asana. 7. Do running early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 8. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 9. No doubt obesity depends on heredity & genetic factors but it can be controlled with proper dietary habits & food choice, bring change in your food choices & lifestyle, keep check on your food intake and try to be in negative energy balance under the supervision of diet expert to get better results.

Hye. Fast food I excess is bad for your health whether you exercise or don't. At times you may look fit on the outside but internally you may be in healthy. There are many underlying health conditions that do not show up until late it's severe. So, eat right at least 5 days a week and it should be okay.

I am having frequent weight gains due to hypothyroidism? What should be diet for hypothyroidism.
If hypothyroidism is in control, weight gain can be controlled. When treatment tsh levels should be between 3 to 4 milli units /l, then all symptoms can be controlled. There is no special diet. Few substances like soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, peanuts, mustard and coffee should be avoided. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Consume whole grain products, use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Avoid using maida and high fat milk products. Plus exercise daily for 1 hour is necessary to control weight.

Hi Mr. Lybrate-user, taking only medicines is not the solution towards controlling your sugar levels. For controlling your diabetes you have to follow proper diet, do some brisk walk along with medicines. These all 3 will work together and you will get to kwow how fit you can be. Controlling diabetes are important as fluctuations of sugar levels can cause many other problems also like heart problems, kidney disorder, etc. You need to follow a proper diet plan so that your sugar levels will be in normal range. There are some general guidelines you must follow till you consult for your own diet chart. 1. Avoid sugars. 2. Avoid simple carbohydrates like maida and its products, white rice etc 3. Have complex carbohydrates like whole wheat flour chapatis, oats, dalia, brown rice etc. 4. Avoid banana, chiku, mango, grapes. 5. Avoid fruits juices. 6. Avoid potatoes, sweet potato, arbi. 7. Have more salads and other vegetables. 8. Have small and frequent meals.
