Hi irregular period is alarming sign for uterine health and may become one of the cause infertile in future early and natural treatment is required, hormonal therapy has many side effects. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

Dissociative Amnesia - How Best It Can Be Treated?

Dissociative Amnesia - How Best It Can Be Treated?

Everyone forgets things once in a while, but for some people this forgetfulness can be a sign of a bigger problem. People who cannot remember important information about their life may be said to be suffering from dissociative amnesia. This can cause memory loss of specific events and themes or make the person forget a majority of their identity and history in general. This dissociative disorder can be mild or be severe enough to affect the daily functioning of a person.

Lost memories cannot be brought back with treatment but treatment can help a person suffering from this disorder reconnect with people and feel secure in their surroundings. The treatment of this condition must be customized to the person’s symptoms. Some forms of treatment for dissociative amnesia are:

  1. Psychotherapy: This is also known as talk therapy as it largely involves conversations between the patient and doctor. It is the main form of therapy used to treat this condition and can also act as an umbrella for many other types of therapy.
  2. Cognitive behavioral therapy: Cognitive therapy focuses on changing the person’s behaviour. It focuses on thinking patterns and feelings that are harmful to the person self-image.
  3. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing: Dissociative amnesia is often associated with traumatic events. In such cases eye movement desensitization and reprocessing is used to address symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorders such as nightmares and flashbacks.
  4. Dialectic behaviour therapy: People who have suffered from abuse or trauma may have severe personality disturbances which may include dissociative amnesia. In such cases, dialectic behaviour therapy may be used.
  5. Family therapy: Dissociative amnesia is often a recurrent condition and affects not only the life of the patient but that of his or her family as well. Hence therapy for the entire family is often necessary.
  6. Creative therapies: Cognitive therapy includes art therapy, music therapy etc. This allows patients to explore different ways of expressing their thoughts and feelings.
  7. Meditation: Meditation and practising relaxation techniques make people more aware of their internal stress levels and equip them to better handle their symptoms.
  8. Clinical hypnosis: When being used to treat this disorder, hypnosis allows a person to express thoughts and emotions they may have hidden form their conscious minds. Through hypnosis the patient can achieve a different state of consciousness through relaxation techniques, concentration and attention.
  9. Medication: Dissociative amnesia cannot be treated through medication but antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication can help deal with the disorder by calming the mind.

Dr. I am a student and am so week so please Dr. Can you suggest some tips or medicine for health.
One of the most common reason for feeling constantly run down is iron deficiency anaemia. Anameia is a condition with decreased hb% of blood where the oxygen carrying capacity of blood decreases. Other reasons of getting fatigued easily are chronic fatigue syndrome, thyroid disorder, diabetes, sleep disorder, depression or anxiety. For improving your fatigue you can have certain changes in your life style like - start your day by having 2- 4 dates in morning on empty stomach get more sleep, early to bed early to rise is the funda for good health eat more wholesome foods keep your body hydrated, drink plenty of fluids, fruit juices, coconut water cut down caffeine intake, avoid areated beverages and alcohol consume green leafy vegetables, seasonal fruits and green tea on regular basis excersing or involving yourself in yoga and meditation will boost your metabolism and will give energy food items rich in omega3 like fish, also boost alertness shedding those extra kilos will boost energy eat more often, have small frequent meals throughout the day rejuvinate yourself by involving yourself in your favouriate hobbies please make sure you have enough quantity of food throughout your day.

Dear lybrate-user! Your homocysteine levels are high. Most of Indians are genetically predisposed to higher homocysteine levels. Few studies have shown that higher homocysteine may be associated with higher risk of cardiac events later in life. The best way to reduce homocysteine is to jog for 1 hour daily. Weight loss of 4-6 kg really help. No definitive medications available to reduce homocysetine. Exercise and weight loss are best medicines. You have severe vitamin-D deficiency, which can cause generalized fatigue, proximal leg weakness and non specific symptoms. Its need replacement. As per Lybrate policy I cannot prescribe medicines in public forum. Would love to help you in a private consult. Lastly your vitamin-B12 levels are normal, nothing needs to be done.

To strenghten the stamina og lungs, you need to learn some breathing exercises. You can make your body fit by proper diet and exercise as well. To build your stamina, don’t just rely on physical activity, you also need to watch what you eat. Include a well-balanced diet by adding low-fat products, plenty of fruits and vegetables 1. Just do Warm up for ten to fifteen minutes of easy running. 2. For mental tiredness - do meditation and yoga 3. Mix it up. Run for two minutes at high intensity and then jog slowly for two-minutes, thirty-seconds. Run at top speed for 30 seconds and then jog for 45 seconds. Mix up your intervals at random. 4.Cool down for fifteen to twenty-five minutes. 5. All types of outdoor sports are best to overcome fatigue and boost your stamina level; this is because it is a form of aerobic exercise. Sports like football, basketball and all other sprinting games will help strengthen your heart 6. Include cardiovascular exercises like running, swimming, jumping etc. DIET TO INCREASE STAMINA- Peanut butter is also excellent for building stamina. It is high in calories and digests slowly. Consume peanut butter in combination with complex carbs. Lean meat, fish, chicken and eggs (IF YOU ARE NON- VEGETARIAN" Rich in protein, these foods are important for growth and development, muscle building and repair. -Be sure to eat breakfast -Eating fruits can provide you with immediate energy.-Avoid simple, processed sugars.-Incorporate foods that are rich in omega-3 into your diet.-Mineral dense foods can increase stamina - take green tea these above ways will help you boost stamina.
