How to maintain my metabolism ?

Diploma in Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
How to maintain my metabolism ?
Don't overdo calorie cutting. Eat breakfast. Believe it or not, it may be the most important meal of the day as far as metabolism (and weight loss) is concerned. Breakfast eaters lose more weight than breakfast skippers do, pile on the protein. Research shows that getting plenty of protein can boost your metabolism, causing you to burn an extra 150 to 200 calories a day, add best food supplements to your diet. For further assistance you can concern me privately.

Hi Doc. please suggest me a pure veggie food that I can eat after gym which is healthy and help in recovering energy but low in calories.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye thanks for the query. Why are specific about low calories? it's more about the right nutrients at the right time. During the first one to two hours after your workout, you should eat a meal rich in carbohydrates and protein. The carbohydrates will help replenish your energy, and the protein will help rebuild muscle that has been broken down during your workout, especially if you are doing resistance training. Examples of post-workout meals include dal /paneer with rice and cooked vegetables or an egg sandwich or egg roll or whole-grain bread or roti with light chutney and vegetables. Immediately within 15 minutes of workout you can whip up a protein shake using milk fruits and nuts to refuel your body. Sip the mixture slowly and then follow it with a glass of water to ensure hydration. You can also take paneer, fruit, boiled egg, sprouts, curd or home made nutrition bars.

Hi, in thyroid apart from the medication it is important to follow a personalized diet plan and do activities/exercise as per the body frame. Your diet counselling would involve taking into account your thyroid malfunction and avoiding certain goitrogens from the diet. For personalised diet consultation do get in touch with me privately on lybrate.

Don't eat foods rich in fats or cholesterol. What we eat in thali is good to eat. Make sure to have dinner as early as possible. Late night dinners can cause heartburn and acidity and other problems of stomach.
