Weight gain is typically first step in beginning of many chronic diseases. So, you are rightly concerned. Faulty lifestyle (diet, lack of exercise, poor sleep pattern and stress in daily life) lead to weight gain especially around belly. The reason is not excess calorie but hormonal imbalance. You need proper diagnosis and then specific plan to tackle that. Make comprehensive change in diet, exercise, sleep and stress in your routine. This is called lifestyle medicine. Hello, Eggs are, power-packed with nutrients and so should be taken for breakfast and post workouts. Bananas can, be used as filler so also be take as Preworkout. Warm, milk for bed time helps (minus sugar).

Hello. Firstly you should get your x-ray done for the sake of precautions. You are having a fractured leg so you must be on bed rest for about 2-3 months or maybe more. And it is usually said that longer bed rest changes your circadian rhythm. Various hormones and enzymes are released in a 24 hour schedule. Since your leg was bandaged so there must be lack of vitamins and calcium. If you feel that your bones are getting weaker then you can 1 gm of wet lime stone (chuna. Along with 100 gm of curd, juice or water. You will feel all the deficiencies will vanish. Please do not use it if you have a problem of kidney stone or other such problems. . Follow these best tips to get in shape and loose weight.* body become over weight due to deposition of fatty tissues. First you should follow diet plan for weight loss. * in morning, take 2-3 chapattis witha bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of without cream milk after 2 hour of breakfast. *in lunch you can take a bowl of soupor salad. *in evening, you can take a cup of teawith glucose biscuits. *in dinner, you can take a bowl of fruits or 2 chapattis with a bowl of vegetables. * for thighs & hips - work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15 minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. To reduce the tummy, * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * lie down on plain surface, put your hands on the back of head by folding your elbows, now move your head towads the knees try to touch your knees with forehead and then move back and lie down. Stent is also caled baloon therapy. A wire is passed through a major blood vessel towards the heart vessel which is blocked by plaque. The wire is fitted with device to open up the blood vessels, to put aside plaque, once blockage is clear, the wire is withdrawn and person is put on bed rest for a day. Proper posture is to be maintained to avoid bleeding through the site. Cost is about 1 l plus, depends upon the center.

I am 53 years male having diabetes for the last 20 years. Now I am frequently getting low sugar. Hence I reduced the insulin in take. It may be due to the Ayurveda medicines also which I am taking for last six months. What should be the normal sugar level in fasting, PP and at random? For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in salt, low in fat and high in fibre. Avoid bakery products. Avoid too much rice and potato. Avoid fried stuff. Avoid chocolate, cakes, ice cream, soft drinks and fruit juices. Eat lots of vegetables. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days in a week. Medicine and insulin will work better if you follow diet and exercise. Normal fasting is 80-130, PP is less than 180 and random is less than 200.

Hi Lybrate User.... Green Tea is just another health drink/ food with some anti-oxidants... which exist in many other fruits and vegetables. You can have a cup or two every day but it will not reduce your weight or bring your hypertension down. To reduce weight you need to work on your food habits. Reduce fatty foods, Reduce salty foods... chips, pickles, fried foods, sauces, cheese, popcorn. Increase intake of salads, fruits, whole grain, multigrain. protein rich foods. Start doing intensive exercise daily for 60 minutes. As you reduce your weight.. you will be able to reduce your BP also and feel healthier and better.

Hi lybrate-user. Your ideal body weight as per your height is 77 kgs. Don't work too hard to loose weight. You can work on maintaining the current weight. Whenever you go for a gym workout, take a fruit or handful of nuts 30 mins before your workout. Take a protein and carbs rich diet post workout. Eg. Take boiled eggs with a fruit / a bowl of sprouts with a fruit / yogurt + fruits + dry fruits / museli milk with dry fruits. You are doing a weight training carry a bottle of water or lemon water to take in between your workout to keep up the energy levels. Maintain a good water intake of up to 2.5 liters daily. Take a heavy breakfast rich in proteins and carbs, lunch comprised of proteins, carbs and fiber, dinner should be very light in carbs and more fiber and protein. Include the mid morning and evening snacks in between your meals.

Mr. Lybrate-user, fruits to avoided are mabgo, chikkoo, grapes and banana. Other fruits like papaya, water melon, apple, pear, guava, orange, sweet lime and pomegranate can be taken. But only about 100 g a day. Thanks.

The food you take every day has to be absorbed in the system to give you energy to work, for your growth and for building the defence system to fight diseases.
Metabolism is the word used to indicate the chemical changes which take place in the body necessary for fulfilment of its vital functions.
The rate of metabolism is high when you are physically and mentally very active. Normally, your daily activity starts in the morning hours and therefore, don’t miss your breakfast.
Similarly, your rate of metabolism is the lowest in the night when you rest physically and mentally. Accordingly, your night meal has to be light and early so that it is mostly digested before you go to sleep. Avoid late night dinners.

To gain some weight, you need to eat healthy. Take small meals but eat something solid every 2 hours. 1. Take at least two fruits per day and one glass fruit juice. 2. Take one peanut butter sandwich daily. 3. Eat 20 almonds / cashew daily 4. Drink full cream milk, curd, lassi, chikoo shakes etc. 5. If your are non veg you can have more eggs, chicken, fish. 6. Dals have good protien. Have more rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc. 7. Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid chips and other namkeen. 8. No need for any supplements. Nature has best products. 9. Go for regular walks / exercise / do yoga. Sleep well. Take deworming tablets every six month.  Feel confident about yourself and be positive. All the best.

For beard take euclyptus oil+ onion juice+ amla juice equally mixed and after washing face apply this mixture. Keep for two hrs. Vit a, b, c, e and proteins should be abundant in diet. Report every fortnight for next step. No need for artificial protein powder and biotin.

Anulom vilom pranayama is one of several pranayama or breathing exercise used in the practice of hatha yoga. At first you have to understand the meaning of
Anuloma and viloma. In this the first word anu roughly translates as with and word loma means hair implying “with the grain” or “natural”. And meaning of viloma is “against the grain.” anuloma is opposite to viloma. It is very helpful in respiratory related diseases like asthama. Anulom vilom pranayama is the best way to balancing the tri dosas in our body. Our body get ill when tri dosas are not in balancing position. Vaat, pitta, kaffa are know as tri dosas, tri means “three” and the meaning of dosas is impurities. All these are present in body of every people. If one of them is imbalance than we suffer from different diseases. All of three are the cause of all diseases. So it’s important to balance these tri dosas. If you really want to balance these tri dosas than do anulom vilom pranayam regularly. It is the simplest and best way for this.

Steps of anulom vilom pranayama:

Anulom vilom pranayama is very easy to do, first of all close your eyes and sit in padmasana and rest your hands on your knees.
Close the right nostril with the right thumb. Inhale slowly through the left nostril, inhale the oxygen as much as you can, this will fill your lungs with air.
Remove your thumb from your right nostril, as you remove your thumb from right nostril just exhale.
When you exhale use your middle finger to close your left nostril then inhale with our right nostril and remove thumb from right nostril then exhale. Repeat this process for 5 minutes. Be focused and concentrate in your breathing.

Benefits of anulom vilom pranayam:

Helps to cure mental problems like depression, anxiety, tension etc.
Most beneficial for breathing related problems like (bronchitis, asthama) etc. Improve the working of lungs.
Anulom vilom pranayama is the ideal pranayama for healthy heart. Anulom vilom pranayama is also known as nadi shodhana pranayam (alternate nostril breathing). It is next level of anulom vilom. In anulom vilom pranayama we inhale and exhale, but in nadi shodhana pranayam we hold (kumbhaka or retention) our breath for a second or minute than exhale.
