Noodles and pasta are rich in calories and have high amount of carbohydrates. They are easy to make and also saves cooking time. If you are a non-vegetarian, you can also add lean chicken and a lot of vegetables to the noodles and pasta that will convert it into a high calorie and nutritious food and provide you essential minerals and proteins.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

1. Eat well – Take a balanced Diet comprising of 45% carbohydrate, 30% protein and 25% fat, plenty of green leafy vegetables, fruits. Don’t over eat. Avoid junk, spicy, oily, high calorie, cholesterol rich diet don’t skip your breakfast. Take warm, homemade food. Avoid food and drink from outside. Don’t skip or postpone your meal. Minimize consumption of refined grains like white rice, white bread, sugary or refined food. 2. Keep hydrated- Drink 2 liters /8-10 glasses of water daily 3. Do regular exercise for one hour daily like brisk walking/Jugging etc 4. Take adequate rest- 7-8 hours of sound sleep in the night is required to remain healthy 5. Avoid stress, anxiety, depression, agitation etc 6. Find time for relaxation and enjoyments with friends and family 7. Practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise to calm your mind, control emotion, improve concentration and relieve stress 8.Avoid smoking, consumption of tobacco and Alcohol 8. Develop hobby, Learn new skill 9.Go for detail Annual Health check up.

Weight gain is a complex process of eating nutricious food, digesting this food, and exercise to build up muscles. Nightfaal is natural in8to 15 days interval. please do not worry about it. Have good healthy breakfast in morning. Lunch and dinner with good proper food (roti sabji, dal chawal, etc.) use dates (khajoor) in your daily diet. Take 1glass of milk twice day. Do regular exercise for half hour. Take good sleep. This well all help in gaining weight. Thank you.

Take protein rich food ---eggs, milk products, dry fruits, seeds, pulses, mutter, soya bean. Cereals, potatoes, sweet potatoes, plantains etc. Can be useful for gaining weight. Also take vegetables, greens and fruits. Have vigorous physical exercise to improve digestion and absorption of food as well as blood circulation.

Obesity is a global epidemic, affecting almost all areas of human health, from heart disease to cancer, and impacting upon most of the major causes of preventable death. However, in recent years, obesity has increased dramatically in many parts of the world with India ranking third in the world’s most obese countries. Although diet and lifestyle choices play a big role, obesity might be in your genes, according to a recent study.

With over 50% of obesity being attributed to genetics, obesity can be an inherited condition. We inherit a lot more from our parents and grand-parents than our skin, hair colour and intelligence, but also predisposition to conditions such as obesity. Understanding one’s genetic profile can help individuals understand their body type and tailor their diets to foods best suited to them.

The obesity gene – FTO

The FTO gene, commonly called the obese gene is a major contributor to obesity in individuals. One version of this gene makes impulse control difficult, affecting your food choice and makes it difficult to maintain a healthy weight. Several other genes such as MC4R, INSIG, TCF7L2, LEP, IRS, have also been found to contribute to obesity. While genes do play some role in causing a predisposition to obesity, they are not entirely to blame. According to a study published by Harvard School of Public Health, ‘Active adults who carried the obesity-promoting gene had a 30 percent lower risk of obesity than inactive adults who carried the gene’. In addition to genetics, there are several factors that play a role – unhealthy lifestyles, diet inadequate in nutrients but rich in calories, higher stress levels, physical inactivity, rise in conditions such as diabetes, hormonal imbalances, in fertility etc. 

Genetic tests are available nowadays to tell you what type of genes that you carry and your susceptibility to obesity. Personalised weight management programs are more effective than one size fits all approach that provides generic advice.

Simple dietary modifications can help you to overcome risks of gaining weight that might be caused due to your obesity genes:

  1. Drink 1 glass of water before every meal that you consume. This helps you to make you feel full and eat less.
  2. Slow paced eating (20-25 minutes) helps you to feel full and also aids in digestion.
  3. Protein rich breakfast such as two egg whites or 1 cup of pulses will help you to maintain your satiety.
  4. High fibre diet (at least 3-4 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruits) will help you to lose weight.
  5. Adding a variety to your diet will also help you to lose weight.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

The healthy way of putting on weight is good diet and exercise. So if he is exercising, it is good. Now, you should focus on what he is eating. Increase his protein intake and good fats. Avoid fried foods and sweets. Give him more protein rich foods such as eggs, fish, lean meat, soya chunks, paneer, curds. You should aim at increasing weight through proper diet rich in multiple sources of protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. You should consult a health coach/nutritionist for getting a proper advise on how to increase your weight in the right way. The weight increasing supplements that are usually marketed on tv and media have lot of carbs and sugars, which increase your weight by the way of increasing your fat percentage, which is not the right thing to do. you have to take protein rich diet like milk and milk product,plenty of green leafy vegetables, sybean, fruits, dry fruits like walnut,almond, egg white, fish,chicken etc. but don't take in excess, otherwise you will gain weight

Hye. Thanks for the query. Firstly, fruits and dry fruits is not breakfast. Breakfast is the meal of the day that is needed to fuel your body after a long fasting gap and helps body energise for the whole day. Any food in isolation will not cause weight gain or loss. It's how, when and how much of a food you eat that can make it negative or positive for your body. So, let your breakfast be a wholesome meal of poha or upma or paratha or roti vegetable or egg pav or idli chutney or dosa sambhar etc. Fruits can be taken as a snack after an hour or two. Also try to take seasonal fruits whenever possible.

Mix clarified butter and sugar in equal proportion (around 1 tbsp of each). Eat this mix at least 30 minutes before your meal on an empty stomach. Consume it for one month. You will definitely see dramatic results.

To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow this regimen and you will soon start seeing the results.

To gain some weight, you need to eat healthy and natural food..>> Take at least two fruits per day and one glass fruit juice..>> Eat 20 almonds & 5 dates daily. Drink full cream milk, curd, lassi, banana shakes etc..>> If your are Non veg you can have more eggs, chicken, fish. For Veg - have more dals, rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc..>> Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid chips and other namkeen..>> No need for any extra supplements. Natural diet is best. Go for 30 mins walks / exercise / yoga daily..>> Take deworming tablets every six month. .Feel confident about yourself. All the best.

you are reducing weight with the span of time. I hope there is no medical problem. on healthy nutritive value you can start with some physical activity followed by high protein diet. take frequent meals during the day. start taking beverages in your diet will help you. make a record of your weight.

Dr. Pichle 3-4 maheene se jabki itni garmi pad rahi thi mujhe bahot zyada thand lagne lagi hai pehle mujhe winters mein bhi zyada thand nahi lagti thi mai bina jackets aram se ghar mein reh leti thi aur abhi jabki itni garmi pad rahi thi mujhe itni thand lagne lagi hai k AC to dur ki baat hai mai fan bhi off kr k baithti hun aur kbhi kbhi to fan off krne k baad bhi blanket ya koi halki bedsheet odh k soti hun agr fan onn ho ya AC mein baithu to poori body mein bahot thand lagti hai jitna winters mein bina jacket k bahar niklo bike pe tab bhi na lage utni zyada k mera baithna hi impossible ho jata hai agar AC chal raha ho aur off krdo to jb tak uski cooling rehti hai mujhe thand lagti rehti hai mere pair aithne lagte hain aur poori body thand se sansanane lagti hai. Aisa kyu ho rha hai mere sath mai AC mein baith tak nahi pati sona to bahot dur ki baat hai fan bhi off kr k hi so pati hun mere sath aisa kis reason so ho rha hai and haan mujhe aksar fever feel hota hai around 7-8 months se. Mai 24 years ki hun and 52 kgs ki.

Kindly get your blood pressure & thyroid level checked. Avoid skipping meals. Have hot soups, porridges, khichdi, stews, egg, meat, coffee, green tea. Eat small meals every 2-3 hrs. Include guava, citrus fruits, raw cabbage & capsicum. Avoid processed/ junk/ ready to eat/ canned/ fried foods.
