Nothing’s more dangerous than drinking water in plastic bottles!

Nothing’s more dangerous than drinking water in plastic bottles!
Impact of drinking water in plastic bottles

We store water in all sorts of plastic bottles, jugs or containers. It can be low grade or high grade, but plastic is plastic! This is a very harmful daily practice as plastic containers carry lot of chemicals and bacteria.

Let’s see the harmful effects of drinking water in plastic bottles:

1. Harmful substances: Apart from harmful chemicals in plastic, water when get stored in plastic bottles also produces harmful substances like fluoride, arsenic and aluminium which can be poison for human body. So, drinking water from plastic bottles would mean drinking slow poison that will slowly and steadily deteriorate your health.

2. Dioxin production: Plastic does melt in hot environment. And we, often store water in plastic bottles while driving and so many times leave it in the car where it is in the direct exposure of sun. Such heating releases a toxin called Dioxin which when consumed can accelerate breast cancer.

3. BPA generation: Biphenyl A is an estrogen-mimicking chemical which can lead to lot of health problems like diabetes, obesity, fertility problems, behavioural problems and early puberty in girls. It’s better not to store and drink water from a plastic bottle.

4. Liver cancer and reduced sperm count: Because of presence of a chemical called phthalates in plastic, drinking water from plastic bottles can also lead to liver cancer and reduction in sperm count.

5. Vitamin based bottled water: Nowadays, we get water mostly in plastic bottles and to increase its health content, manufacturers make it vitamin-enriched to attract buyers. But this is even more harmful as it carries health-harming additives like food dyes and high fructose corn syrup.

6. Impact on immune system: Our immune system is immensely affected when we drink water in plastic bottles. The chemicals from plastic bottles are ingested and tend to disturb our body’s immune system.

Steps to Keeping Your Cool and Saving Your Relationships - Tips by Relationship Counselor Shivani Misri Sadhoo

Steps to Keeping Your Cool and Saving Your Relationships - Tips by Relationship Counselor Shivani Misri Sadhoo
You may image or you might already have experienced this situation - one unfortunate day your best friend or co-worker or your partner tell you something insulting, hurts you, screams at you and you forget that moment that they might be suffering from a momentary mood swing or they might have miss-understood you and YOU DON’T WAIT and insult them back, scream back at them – risking, weakening or even destroying your relationships.

Relationship counsellor Shivani Sadhoo suggests that when we are under anger attack from our loved ones, the first instinct that works for us is – either to fight back immediately or getting shocked or surprised how to react – these two reactions generally make the situation worse.

The right thing one should practice is MINDFULNESS. That is building the ability to judge and understand the crisis situation first and then react accordingly. Here are some simple steps to improve your interpersonal skills and to save your valuable relationships in the time of a fight.

Identify your impulse that precedes your anger response.

When you get angry the moment prior reacting to our anger our body shows some impulse, i.e. sensation that rises up through our body prior launching anger reaction—these impulses are like - rapid heartbeat, feeling heat in your ears , raising your voice, clenching your jaw (different people have different kind of impulses). When you can pick up on these warning signs, you can give yourself time to make a deliberate choice. At that moment, you are practicing anger management.

Control the impulse.

The goal is to keep your body and mind in control if you're quick to fight, give yourself a time-out: shift your focus on your body instead. Concentrate on feeling the heat beneath you, then take long deep breaths from your diaphragm; try inhaling through your nose on a count of two, holding till six and exhaling through your mouth on seven.

Accept extreme anger is wrong

Many of us believe the expression of anger is a sign of strength or an instrument of self-defence. It is true to some extent BUT when anger gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to all kind of problems —problems at work, in our personal relationships, worsens our BP & heart condition and in the overall quality of your life. It can make you feel as though you are at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful emotion. Remember that unless we accept extreme anger is BAD no matter what we practice or think, we cannot improve ourselves and lead a healthy and happy life.

PCOS cysts rarely can be treated by surgery. You must try controlling weight and controlling sugar. For hair growth, we can advise some drugs after examining you.

Misophonia, also known as selective sound sensitivity syndrome, starts with a trigger. It’s often an oral sound -- the noise someone makes when they eat, breathe, chew, yawn, or whistle. Sometimes a small repetitive motion is the cause -- someone fidgets, jostles you, or wiggles their foot. If you have a mild reaction, you might feel: • Anxious • Uncomfortable • The urge to flee • Disgust If your response is more severe, the sound in question might cause: • Rage • Anger • Hatred • Panic • Fear • Emotional distress • A desire to kill or stop whatever is making the noise • Skin crawling • Suicidal thoughts The disease can put a cramp in your social life. You might avoid restaurants or eat separately from your spouse, family, or roommates. Or worse, you could act on what you feel. You might attack the person who’s making the sound -- physical or verbally -- cry, or run away from the situation. Over time, you may respond to visual triggers, too. Seeing someone get ready to eat or put something in their mouth might set you off. How Do You Get It? This lifelong condition usually starts between the ages of 9 and 13 and is more common with girls. It comes on quickly, but isn’t related to any one event. Doctors aren’t sure what causes misophonia, but it’s not a problem with your ears. They think it’s part mental, part physical. It could be related to how sound affects your brain and triggers automatic responses in your body. The condition does affect daily life, but you can learn to manage it. The treatment offered is sound therapy combined with psychological counseling. The doctor sets up background noises to counteract your trigger sound. You might try a device like a hearing aid that creates a sound in your ear similar to a waterfall. The noise distracts you from triggers and reduces reactions. Other treatments include talk therapy and antidepressants. Your lifestyle also plays a role. Get regular exercise, plenty of sleep, and manage your stress. You can also wear ear plugs and headsets to tune out sounds. Set up quiet areas or safe spots in your home where no one will make the noises that bother you. Your sensitivity could also mean that your tolerance to irritating sounds will be low because you may have a constant level of fear about something that is even not even related. In counseling you could seek help in dealing with that fear and there may be considerable improvement. You are reacting with anger without realizing that it is the fear that has to be dealt with. You will need to visit an ENT specialist who will conduct tests to determine the nature of misophonia and propose some treatments including medication. To some extent why you can tolerate your own sounds is akin to the fact that when we use the toilet we have no issues with the bad odor of our defecation but if we were to smell another’s feces, we can become quite repulsed by it: so the intolerance to other’s sounds is more pronounced.
