Dear lybrate user, red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power.

I want to know about LASIK operation and also about that can we completely get rid from myopia over all life time.
LASIK, which stands for laser in-situ keratomileusis, is a popular surgery used to correct vision in people who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. The minimum requirements for undergoing LASIK are age 21 or more, stable refractive error for at least 1 year. Since you fulfil both these you can undergo LASIK surgery. Do consult your doctor for evaluation and other tests like corneal thickness and orbscan. After these tests you can undergo LASIK surgery.

To remain healthy and fit, you should follow 3 steps in your life 1. Balanced diet 2. Early morning brisk morning walk for 30 minutes and 10 minutes evening walk after dinner 3. Drink 6-8 glasse of water daily. As 60% of our body is made of water, it acts as a carrier of essential nutrients inside our body. Loosing as little as 5% of body's weight as water can cause headache, fatigue and lower your muscle strength. To stay healthy, an adult should drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Balanced diet= 60% carbohydrates + 20% fats + 20% proteins 1. Carbohydrates: our main source of energy. Stored in liver and muscles. Carbohydrates are used the most by our body duringexercise. Hence, it is important for people who exercise regularly to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates. (a) instant/rapid carbohydrates energy sources: banana, milk, sweets, sugarcane juice. (b) slow carbohydrates energy sources: beans, bread, cereals, potato, pulses, rice. 2. Proteins: essential for growth, repair of muscle, skin, hair and body tissues. Protein deficiency leads to low immunity, hairfall, feeling of tiredness. Proteins are not stored in our body as any excess protein is converted to energy or fat. Hence, a person requires protein intake every day. When the body does not get enough carbohydrates to fuel itself, it falls back on protein bank. That is why people who follow starvation diets or go on fasting lose muscle tissue. (a) major protein sources: egg white (white portion), milk, soybeans/soymilk, fish, cheese, tofu. (b) other protein sources: beans with wheat, nuts, curd, yogurt (dahi). 3. Fats: required and healthy when taken in small amounts. Excess fat leads to weight gain, increase in bad cholesterol (ldl) and heartproblems (a) major fats sources: egg yolk (yellow portion), avocados, whole milk, butter, cheese, nuts. (b) other fats sources: corn, vegetable/olive oil, biscuits, flaxseeds (san beej). 4. Vitamins and minerals: critical for normal functioning of organs and processes within our body. They do not provide energy directly but work behind the scenes to break down food into energy. 5. Fiber: it helps retain water and in making our stools softer to avoid constipation. Intake should be 25 to 35 grams a day. 6. Calories: a measure of how much energy food or drink contains. On an average, a man needs around 2, 000 calories a day and a woman 1700 calories a day to maintain his weight and good health. Number varies by person depending upon weight, age and how active the lifestyle is. 7. Guideline: each day have 3 main meals, 2 snacks, 5 pieces of fruit and at least 1 glass of milk. 4. Bramari pranayam or bee breath 1. Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. 2. Place your thumbs in your ears, your index fingers above your eyebrows, and your remaining along the sides of your nose. Keep each pinky finger near a nostril. 3. Breath in deeply through the nose. First, feel the diaphragm move down, allowing the lungs to expand and forcing the abdomen out; then feel your chest expand with your collar bones rising last. 4. Use your pinkies to partially close each nostril. Keep your lungs filled. 5. Breathe out through the nose while humming. Note that the humming sound should originate in your throat, not as a result of your partially-blocked nostrils. 6. Repeat twenty times. Starting from 5 times in nut-shell, think good, eat good, sleep good andby adopting these 3 point in your life you will remain fit as ever. Homoeopathic medicine------------- euphrasia-cineraria eye drops (sbl) apply in eyes 3 times a day------ nail nd hair-aid tabss (bakson) take 1 tab daily with water for 50 days-------------

Sir how to decrease my eye sight without any side effects occur and how two overcome this sight problem.

Sir how to decrease my eye sight without any side effects occur and how two overcome this sight problem.
Hello,do these exercises for eyes to strengthen the eye muscles :- Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Episcleritis is a recurrent disease. It's an inflammatory condition. You should use a mild steroid drop in tapering dose ( ex- Tobastar F eye drop 6 times x 4days 5times. X 4days ..... till once x 4days ) By this time redness of d eyes will go away, then start Flur eye drop 3 times for 3 months The recurrence rate will go down to a large extent with this treatment.

Foreign Objects in The Eye - Ways You Can Deal With It!

MBBS, MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
Foreign Objects in The Eye - Ways You Can Deal With It!

Excessive blinking or the urge to rub your eyes is most often caused by foreign objects in your eyes. This foreign object can be anything from your own eye lash to dust or a shard of metal. The area these foreign objects affect is the cornea or the conjunctiva. It can scratch the cornea causing an infection of affecting your vision if not treated in time. A foreign object usually enters your eye as a result of a high impact collision or force like wind etc. Some of the symptoms of having a foreign object in your eye include:

  1. Pressure or discomfort in the eye
  2. Pain in the eye
  3. Excessive tearing and clear or bloody discharge from the eye
  4. Increased sensitivity to light
  5. Redness in the eye

Blinking continuously a few times can dislodge some types of foreign objects. If it affects your vision or causes constant tearing consult a doctor. Do not attempt to rub your eyes in an effort to remove the object. Instead restrict the movement of your eye until a doctor can remove the irritant. To avoid further injury to the eye, bandage the eye with a clean cloth. If the object does not allow you to close your eye, cover it with a paper cup and bandage it. Do not use anything, such as tweezers or cotton directly on the eye.

In some cases, the irritants can be seen with the naked eye. If you think something is stuck in your eye, wash your hands and look at your eye under a bright light. Pulling the lower lid down and flipping the upper eye lid can allow you to see the eye more clearly. To remove a foreign object under the upper eyelid submerge the eye in a flat bowl of water and rapidly open and close it a few times. This can help flush the object out of your eye. Alternatively pour a glass of warm water over your eye while keeping them open. Washing the eye can help get rid of irritants stuck under the lower eyelid.

In more serious cases, anesthetic drops are used to numb the eye. The eye will then be observed under a magnifying glass to see the extent of the injury. Your doctor may use several methods to remove the irritant depending on its size and extent of penetration. You may also be given medication to help deal with the pain caused by the object. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ophthalmologist.

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 18 years so your number will not increase much now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik after age of 18 yrs.
