Do not get disturbed by this. Their are certain situations where crowns are made in such fashion that it do not contact gums to make cleaning better but I do not think that it is done intentionally. Speak to your doctor. He will surely do things for your comfort. Take care.

I am 35 years old. I am suffering from teeth pain for last 3 days. Please guide me.
Pain can be due to some conditions like cavities, tooth abcess, gum disease, and fracture of tooth. So its important to find out the cause of pain. After that treatment can be decided. You can consult me privately with your reports and symptoms for further advice. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water. Or ibuprofen after meal. Brush regularly two times daily with soft bristle toothbrush. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash.

I have teeth pain when I drink cold water daily since 2 months what health I should follow to prevent the pain?
It might be due to dentin exposure which usually get treated by de-sensitizing paste or due to cavity/carious tooth for which you must visit a dentist to get it checked up or if necessary get an x-ray done.

Gingivitis gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease. Plaque on your teeth and at the gumline that is not removed by brushing and flossing can infect the gums and lead to the symptoms of gingivitis. When gingivitis occurs, your gums may become swollen, tender and sometimes bleed during brushing. This early stage of the disease responds well to good brushing and flossing habits and regular dental checkups.

I am regularly brushing my teeth then also its not enough white. What should I do.?
There are several causes of tooth discoloration, including: foods/drinks. Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Tobacco use. Smoking or chewing tobacco can stain teeth. Poor dental hygiene. Inadequate brushing and flossing. Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

Why Dental Health Check Ups Are So Important?

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Hyderabad
Why Dental Health Check Ups Are So Important?

One of the major issues facing dentists, patients and patients wallets is that the majority of us don't visit the dentist on a regular basis.  More than a quarter of adults only visit the dentist when they have a problem.

The infrequency and irregularity of dental check-ups is causing a huge number of problems for us. The facts say a lot here with 31% of adults having tooth decay, 66% of us having visible plaque and 29% of the population suffering from regular pain in the mouth or teeth.

How Often Should You Visit the Dentist

Both adults and children should visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend. For those with certain medical conditions, your dental team may want to see you more often.

It is also important to remember that certain types of medication may impact our oral health too, for instance, patients who have ‘dry mouth' caused by medication may be more likely to get tooth decay and will need to visit their dental team more often.

Why Dental Check Ups Are So Important

The problem we have is that many of us ignore the health of our mouth, especially when we compare it to our overall body health. We allow problems to develop before we actually visit the dentist.

There are a wide number of issues this creates but we have listed the two most common issues left unchecked;

      Allowing Gums to Bleed

Allowing your gums to bleed helps create cavities and inflamed gums - pockets develop under the gum-line filled with bacteria that eat away the teeth and eventually the bone causing tooth loss. Visiting the dentist regularly can ensure your gum health is properly maintained and early treatment prevents serious problems developing.

    Tooth Pain

Tooth pain is most often caused from cavities forming. Once a cavity reaches the stage where it is causing pain then root canal treatment (or possibly tooth loss) is more likely, or an extensive filling. Regular check-ups ensure that the beginnings of a filling can be identified, treated and additional brushing routines created.

Overall dental check-ups will dramatically decrease the potential for all oral health problems becoming serious. They are also cost effective compared to paying for expensive major dental works such as tooth replacements, crowns and gum repair.

Check Up Costs Are Low

This includes a check of your teeth and gums and also covers basic treatments including scaling, polishing and the application of fluoride varnishes and fissure sealants. You will also receive advice on preventing issues developing and your brushing technique and habits.

Private dental check-ups are not significantly more expensive in most parts of the country.

Visiting the dentist should be a regular part of your schedule, just like a proper oral health routine. The benefits of check-ups far outweigh any minor inconveniences booking an appointment might cause! It's time to prioritise our oral health.

Hi lybrate-user Since the ulcer is near an area which you have written as "leukoplakia" I assume that you must have taken an opinion from a specialist. The ulcer should actually heal, but I assume that erythroplakia (redness along with white patchof leukoplakia) has been ruled out. Also, I would suggest that since the ulcer is in the area of leukoplakia, a biopsy should be done to rule out any malignant changes.
