During winter low temperatures can deceive into skipping the sunscreen. Don't because your skin is prone to getting dehydrated. Apply or go for gel based cream to shield your skin from both.

General Physician,
Say no to FNAC in prostate cancer

Over 95 percent of malignancies arising in the prostate are adenocarcinoma. The remaining types include urothelial carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, lymphoma and sarcomas.

Core needle biopsy of the prostate is used to determine whether or not cancer is present in men with an elevated serum PSA level and/or an abnormal digital rectal examination.

The recommendation is to take multiple core biopsies under transrectal ultrasound guidance.

Primary diagnosis of prostate cancer by using fine needle aspiration is not acceptable.

When positive, the combined Gleason score, based upon architectural features of the prostate cancer cells, should be reported because it correlates closely with clinical behavior and has been incorporated into the tumor node metastasis (TNM) prognostic group staging system.

One should also report number of positive cores, the percentage (or length) of cancer in the positive core, the presence of perineural invasion or extraprostatic extension, and the presence of histologic types other than conventional adenocarcinoma.

The accuracy of pathological diagnosis of prostate cancer can be improved by using immunohistochemistry markers.

I am feeling little pain around my anus while passing stool. Sometimes the pain goes and sometimes its dere. I can feel a small lump there. What is the prblm. How can I cure that?

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hubli-Dharwad
Anal pain also known as proctalgia common causes:- 1.anal fissure-An anal fissure is a small tear in the skin of the anus that can be caused by passing a large or hard poo. Symptoms of an anal fissure can include: a severe, sharp pain when doing a poo a burning or gnawing pain that lasts several hours after doing a poo rectal bleeding – you may notice a small amount of blood on the toilet paper after you wipe Anal fissures can be very painful, but many heal on their own in a few weeks. Increasing the amount of fibre in your diet, drinking plenty of fluids and taking laxatives and over-the-counter painkillers can help. If the pain persists, you may need special ointment that relaxes the ring of muscle around your anus. Occasionally, surgery may be needed to help the fissure heal. 2.Haemorrhoids (piles) Haemorrhoids (piles) are swellings containing enlarged blood vessels that are found inside or around the bottom. They're often thought to be caused by straining on the toilet as a result of prolonged constipation. In many cases, haemorrhoids don't cause symptoms. When symptoms do occur, they may include: bleeding after doing a poo an itchy bottom feeling like there's a lump in or around your anus soreness and redness around your anus anal pain, if the blood supply to the haemorrhoid becomes blocked or interrupted – for example, by a blood clot The symptoms often pass after a few days. Increasing the amount of fibre in your diet, drinking plenty of fluids and taking laxatives and over-the-counter painkillers can help. If the blood supply to the haemorrhoid has been blocked by a clot, a simple procedure can be carried out to remove the clot under local anaesthetic (where the area is numbed). 3.Anal fistulas and abscesses An anal fistula is a small tunnel that develops between the end of the bowel and the skin near the anus. It's usually caused by an infection near the anus resulting in a collection of pus (an abscess). Symptoms of an anal fistula or abscess can include: a constant, throbbing pain that may be worse when you sit down skin irritation around the anus passing pus or blood when you poo swelling and redness around your anus a high temperature (fever) Your GP may prescribe antibiotics if an abscess is picked up early on. If it persists, it may need to be drained in hospital, possibly under general anaesthetic (while you're asleep). If a fistula develops, surgery will usually be needed because they rarely heal by themselves Less common causes of anal pain When to get medical advice Many common causes of anal pain will improve with simple self-care treatments, so you don't always need to see your GP. But it's a good idea to see your GP if: your pain is severe your pain doesn't improve after a few days you also experience rectal bleeding Don't feel embarrassed to see your GP – anal pain is a common problem that they're used to seeing. Your GP can try to work out what the problem is and give you treatment advice. They'll probably ask to see your bottom and may carry out a rectal examination (where they gently insert a gloved finger into your bottom) to check for any abnormalities. If the cause is not immediately obvious, they may refer you to a specialist for advice and further tests.

Hello sir, I am anil kr seth, from india my skin is affected by white spot, and I taking some homeopathic medicine before 3 years but I wanna that you give me some tips for white spot which can be use at my home,

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
White spots on can occur due to a number of reasons, of which conditions can be mild or severe. The condition can be mild or severe, and generally covers the majority of the skin on a particular area of the body. They may also cause irritation or itching. The occurrence of whites on the face can be extremely distressing. People affected with this problem should obtain medical advice to diagnose what is causing the condition and the suitable treatment. Causes of White Spots White spots on the face occur for various reasons. Understanding some of these reasons may be beneficial in treating the condition. Furthermore, understanding the cause can also help people avoid certain circumstances that increase the risk. 1. Tinea Versicolor This is a chronic fungal infection of the skin. Also known as pityriasisversicolor, this fungus causes discolored patches on the skin as it interferes with the normal pigmentation. The color of the patches may be darker or lighter than the surrounding skin and most often, affects the back and trunk of adolescent males. Exposure to sunlight, hot, humid weather, oily skin and excessive sweating may aggravate the condition. 2. Vitiligo This is a skin condition that results in the loss of melanocyte pigmentation of the skin. This results in white patches that feel as if it is part of the skin. The cause of vitiligo is unclear although it is believed to be an autoimmune disease. However, mild trauma to any area of the skin including the face can also result in the development of vitiligo. Vitiligo can affect the face, hands and feet, elbows and genital area. 3. Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis White spots on the face may also be due to Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis, a skin condition resulting in 2 to 5 mm flat, white spots commonly found on the shins and forearms. This skin condition mostly affects fair skinned people, although it may occur in dark skinned individuals too. The white spots may occur more commonly in people over the age of 40. 4. Pityriasis Alba This skin condition is common in children aged 6 to 12. It is a rash that appears on the face, neck and arms, and is not easily differentiated between normal skin. The rash may be covered with skin flakes resembling light dust. The cause of Pityriasis Alba is not known and is often considered as a form of eczema. This condition is often mistaken with vitiligo. However, while vitiligo has a distinct border, Pityriasis Alba does not. Treatments for White Spots on Face The medical treatment for white spots depends entirely on the root cause that underlies the condition. There are certain things that you can try to accelerate the process of treatment . Some of these mentioned treatments are professional while others are home remedies. Home Remedies .  For treating vitiligo, consumption of ginger juice is recommended as it promotes blood flow. neem seed oil applied to the affected area will also bring beneficial results.  Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis may not require treatment as it is harmless. However, topical steroids and retinoids may help treat the condition.  Treatment for Pityriasis Alba may not be necessary although the application of a moisturizer or hydrocortisone creams may help the disappearance of these patches.  Washing the face with mild soaps and exfoliating the skin at least twice a week with a honey, rice, turmeric and sandalwood powder paste can treat Tinea Versicolor. So identify your problem of white spots with the help of your local doctor so that appropriate treatment is given or send me your picture depicting those white spot along with the complete hitory of your spots,so that I am clear in making a diagnosis.

I have an accident so I got some marks on my face of stitches. Nd cuts. So should I have a plastic surgery or laser surgery.

Advanced Aesthetics, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Indore
Scar revision by surgery is one of the most frequently performed surgeries and we are the pioneers in central india since last 30 years. Surgery may be the only answer. The surgery is almost painless because there are enough medications to keep the pain under control we need to examine the patient to know what is wanted and what can be done and to work out how much, when, where, etc

Hello. We do have good and effective medicines in Homoeopathy for unwanted facial hair. Want to know whether do you have any hormonal imbalance? Apart from these medications, take good healthy food which also contributes to your problem. Diet for Unwanted Facial Hair: - Vitamin B6 can reduce the production of prolactin, a hormone that causes the male hormone testosterone to be taken up by tissues. It also dampens cells' responsiveness to hormones. This vitamin can be found in avocados, fish, organ meats, soybeans, walnuts, peanuts, bananas and other fruits. - Calcium-D-Glucarate can help your body detoxify hormones. It's a natural substance found in many fruits and vegetables, including apples, Brussels sprouts, bean sprouts, broccoli and cabbage. This also is called Glucaric Acid, D-Glucarate, or D-Glucaric Acid. If you supplement, use 200 mg twice a day. - Vitamin E can normalize androgens and reduce the effects of testosterone. Wheat germ oil, almonds, sunflower seeds, safflower oil, peanut butter, corn oil, spinach, broccoli, mangoes and spinach contain this vitamin. - Consuming up to 500 mg per day of magnesium is another way to reduce testosterone effects and bring androgens back into balance. Nuts, seeds, raw leafy greens, soybeans and whole grains contain magnesium. - Zinc and copper are minerals that can help prevent unwanted facial hair. Do not overdo with copper; the ideal balance of zinc to copper is eight to one in favor of zinc. Copper is abundant in the environment---it's in drinking water in some areas, and you can get it from copper plumbing and cooking equipment. - Get enough iodine. The thyroid gland needs iodine to make its hormones, which regulate metabolism. If you need to eat more iodine, consume sea vegetables, or seaweeds, twice a week, or use an iodine-rich seasoning such as Seaweed Gomasio. Medication: Schwabe's Oleum Jacoris 3x/ 3 times a day and Medorrhinum 1M/ one dose once a week – both for a month.

Lump discovered please help Hi, I have never had a lump in my breast before I'm 24 years old and I'm worried. The lump is on the same side as where I had an abscess removed recently. It's red and inflamed on the outside and tender to touch. Wondering what it could be, thanks x.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
If the lump is red and tender it is most likely breast abscess. Abscess needs to be immediately drained. If they r occurring again and again, means you need to get sugar tested.
