Hair care- 1.Some forms of hair loss can be prevented by minimizing stress, eating a healthy diet and using sensible hairdressing techniques, and, if possible, switching to medications that do not cause hair loss 2.When you wash your hair, rinse it well and gently pat the hair dry with a towel. Keep your scalp clean. 3.Use a wide tooth comb. 4.Limit the use of blow dryers, rollers (curlers) , curling or straightening irons to prevent breaking the hair shafts. 5.After washing your hair with a shampoo and conditioner, just before you step out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water for a couple of seconds. This will ensure that your hair cuticles are sealed and the moisture stays put in your hair. 6.If you’ve always wondered how to grow hair faster naturally, the first thing you need to do is trim your hair regularly. This will help keep away split ends that can make your hair look unhealthy and lifeless. Moreover, you should know that the more split ends, the bigger the chances of your hair breaking and falling More elaborate guidance can be given on further discussions. I would be happy to help you and assist in getting over your problem. Please consult me privately so that a proper solution and treatment plan can be made for your problem. You can book a private in person/text/audio/video appointment for further treatment as per your convenience. All the best.

I am a diabetic person suffering for last 15 yrs. High was 336 one day & it occured 4 times. Taking 2 mg glimpstar in morning &. 5mg before dinner. Problem is I have to go to urinal more than 3 times in the night.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear , as your report suggests that your diabetes is not under control. As high sugar level in blood increases the frequency of urination especially at night. So you must control it stringently and strictly with either change in the dosage of the existing drug or your doctor will have to change the drug. At the same time you need have better control of diet and to effect that decrease sugar, fats and calories in your diet. Another important step would be to increase your physical activities like walking, swimming or exercises. Even after bringing sugar level to around 140-160 nocturnal frequency persists then consider enlargement of prostate should be considered as it is an important cause at your age. Last but not the least keep away from constipation as it increases urinary problems.

Wrist Fracture Procedure - Facts You Should Know About

MS - Orthopaedics, MBBS

Wrist Fracture Procedure - Facts You Should Know About

A broken wrist is known as a wrist fracture and it may occur due to a variety of causes starting from undue pressure on the wrist which can result in an injury as well as debilitating conditions like arthritis, which makes the bones and joints prone to fractures. There are also non displaced breaks, which are stable kinds of fractures and in which, the wrist remains in its place. Let us find out more about the kinds of fractures and the procedures for treatment of the same.

Type of Fracture: The wrist is basically made up of eight small bones that connect the two long arm bones, which are known as the radius and ulna and create the forearm. The broken wrist can take place in any of these bones. A hand surgeon will generally take a look at this kind of fracture and determine whether it is displaced, stable or open. As discussed earlier, a wrist fracture can be of various types. While a non displaced wrist fracture is a more stable kind that does not really require much more than rest or medication, a displaced wrist fracture is a non stable kind where dislocation happens.

Other Factors: There are a variety of other factors that will be taken into consideration in order to repair this kind of a fracture. To begin with, the Orthopaedic specialist will consider your age and the kind of job, hobbies and other kinds of activities that you indulge in. Also, the doctor will try to ascertain whether or not you are in good health on an overall basis. The presence of other injuries will also be taken into account for this kind of an injury in there has been a bike or car accident that has caused the fracture.

Treatment: The method of treatment will vary as per the considerations listed above. A padded splint may be installed in order to align and support the bones and wrist respectively, so that there is ample relief from the acute pain as well. Further, an unstable fracture will require a cast as to support the entire forearm and give proper rest to the region so that the bone can grow back together and get aligned again. Surgery may also be required for very severe cases, and pins, screws, metals and plates may also be used depending on the exact location and type of fracture.

Recovery: Remember to move your fingers as much as you can so as to prevent them from getting stiff while they are held up in a splint or a cast.
Hand therapy will be helpful in gaining back motion and function of the wrist.

Mr. lybrate-user, Corn flakes are purely refined carbohydrate, hence will get absorbed rapidly and can increase blood glucose rapidly. Since there are plenty of calories in it, weight increase can definitely occur. For a person with diabetes, corn flakes are better avoided. Thanks.

Low blood pressure is an abnormal condition where a person’s blood pressure (the pressure of the blood against the walls of the blood vessels during and after each beat of the heart) is much lower than usual, which can cause symptoms such as dizziness or vertigo. Conditions that reduce the volume of blood, reduce cardiac output (the amount of blood pumped by the heart), and medications are frequent causes of low blood pressure. Homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. The selection of remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach. This is the only way through which a state of complete health can be regained by removing all the sign and symptoms from which the patient is suffering. The aim of homeopathy is not only to treat low blood pressure symptoms but to address its underlying cause and individual susceptibility. As far as therapeutic medication is concerned, several well-proved medicines are available for the treatment of low blood pressure symptoms that can be selected on the basis of cause, condition, sensation and modalities of the complaints. For individualized remedy selection and treatment you can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure

I am suffering from cold and cough from a week. Please suggest me some medicines?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
I am suffering from cold and cough from a week. Please suggest me some medicines?
There are several things you can do to prevent a cold—they are all easy and inexpensive and worth the effort. Wash your hands often-with soap and warm water. The germs stick to the soap and get washed down the drain. Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. Cover Your Mouth and Nose When You Sneeze or Cough- Clean your hands every time you cough or sneeze. Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth-Germs are often spread when a person touches a contaminated surface and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. Stay Home When You’re Sick-Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, don’t smoke, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food so you can fend off viruses. Take healthy balanced diet...like boiled eggs.daily in breakfast .. Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. Routinely clean and disinfect common areas of your home. Treatment:There is a gradual 1-3 day onset of symptoms. It often starts out as a sore throat, then a fever and coughing. As the cold progresses, the nasal mucus may thicken which is the last stage before the cold dries up. A cold usually lasts for a week or two. But, taking good care of yourself at home can relieve symptoms and help prevent complications if you are otherwise healthy. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn’t need medical treatment. Complications include bacterial infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs which must be treated with antibiotics. In general you should: • get plenty of rest so your body can use its energy to fight the cold • staying at home will keep you from spreading germs • drink plenty of liquids like herbal tea or hot broth/vegetable/tomato soups. Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can keep you from getting enough sleep Runny Nose and Sneezing- if you have post nasal drip, gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. Drink extra fluids. (avoid sugary and high calorie drinks) Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation • Tablet Nasorest-P once/twice daily may reduce the amount of mucous. • Humidify the rooms you are in most or your whole house if possible. • Do steam inhalation once or twice daily Cough-Coughing is how your body gets rid of debris and mucus from the airways during a viral infection. Unless your cough is severe or is keeping you from resting at night, it is better not to treat it. A severe cough can be treated with a cough syp, but don’t try to completely stop the cough. There are two types of coughs. Productive and non-productive or dry cough. Non-productive, dry cough. A dry, hacking cough may develop near the end of a cold. Dry coughs that follow viral colds are often worse at night and can last up to several weeks. Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough. Cough drops can sooth an irritated throat, but most don’t affect the cough. Productive cough. A productive cough is one that brings up mucus from the back of the throat or the lungs. Productive coughs should not be suppressed to the point they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. Drink lots of water if you have a productive cough. Head and Body Aches- Take tablet dolo-650 mg for fever once or twice daily
