In a diabetes patient sometimes hypoglycemial does occur. If blood sugar goes below 70mg /100 ml or even further down below 50 mg then patient may feel dizzy. The best thing to do is give some sugar or gluco tabs which are available. Even candy can be useful. Hypoglycemia hardly happens in a normal person. Hypoglycemia is more common in patients who are on insulin injections.

Hello, The normal resting adult human heart rate ranges from 60–100 bpm which increases after any physical activity or exertion. So, no need to worry, but keep checking at regular intervals. For Hypertension: Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

1. For your age pain chest could be due to anxiety, stress, depression, physical and mental strain, hyper acidity, muscular problem 2. Avoid stress and strain 3. Do regular exercise, reduce your weight if over weight. 4. Control your diet. Avoid oily/spicy/fried and junk food, high calorie and cholesterol rich diet. Take small frequent meals (5-6 meals/day instead of three heavy meals. If you have hyper acidity take one tablet of pan 40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days 5. Do yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercise like pranayama etc. It will calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress. 6. Have sound sleep for 7-8 hours daily. 7. Avoid smoking, alcohol, excess tea/coffee, if you are having 8. Drink plenty of water and take rest 9. Take paracetamol 500mg one tablet sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets per day at the time of chest pain 10. Blocks can be removed by LEKHAN herbs as also some herbs like DHAMASA (Fegonia) help dissolve clots in the vessels. These are harmless. However switching to Ayurveda means long term therapy. But I ask one thing: does the Allopathic medicine for such conditions are discontinued any time in life generally. The answer is NO. So wisdom is to prevent such conditions by AYURVEDA principles of 'Dincharya' If emergency happens, allopathic treatment is best for saving life. Gradually the Ayurveda be taken parallel by introducing required Ayurveda medicines. Slowly allopathic may be withdrawn but all the things be done under monitoring of all the modern essential tests and advise of specialists. No pathy is entirely bad or good. Utilization should be to the maximum benefit of human kind. Precautions are no trans fats, restrictions in salt intake, regularity in medicine, adopting Pranayam, meditation, walks, destressing etc If you need to take Ayurveda treatment, pl consult with full details.

I have been told I suffer from OCD which is resistant to medicines. That means medicines won't help me. What do I do? When I started medicines for OCD I was told I have to take them for only 6 months but now it's more than 10 years and I still am told to take medicines. I wonder if they aren't curing me why should I take them? At present I take Serta (100) 1-0-2; Axepta (25) 1-0-0; Zapiz (0.5) 1-1-1; Fluanxol (0.5) 1-1-1; Amitone (25) 1-1-0. Inspite of all these I wash hands too much. Skin on my hands hurts. Also I have been told these medicine have side-effects and they can harm liver & kidneys in the long run. Is there any way to live without medicines and also get rid of OCD?

Hello it is unfortunately true that ocd is one of the most difficult problem to treat for the doctor and to experience for the patient. Every medicine has side effects for sure but they are much less harmful than the disease itself. Already you have poor control of symptoms for 10 long years. I think you should get full knowledge about ocd first. I suggest the website www. Nimhans. Ac. In, you can find a link for ocd clinic and material for general public. It is a very good information in hindi. I can treat you but it will be a long and continuous process. You can consult on line but it may take up to 8-12 weeks before you find any reduction in symptoms. We can also introduce psychological treatment which is quite effective in combination with medicine

Dear Lybrateuser, - To develop your chest muscles you have to exercise regularly & have a well balanced diet high in proteins - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming for 20-30 min, do moderate weight lifting for at least 2-3 days in a week, also do yoga & deep breathing for 5-10 min daily morning - have a well balanced diet including fruits& vegetables, have protein foods like eggs, nonveg, milk & milk products, beans, soya products, tofu, pulses, nuts.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

You need to practice meditation twice daily with yoga and pranayam every day. Follow regular routines of getting all dietary measures and daily behaviours as well as morning walk every day. Use light diets and soups of carrots and beetroots with moong daal and green vegetables. Warm milk boiled with ginger and haldi including ghee and nuts every day before going to bed. Drink 3 to 4litres water every day.

Many of my clients when first consults with me, they ask this question' despite trying so many strategies, why I am not losing weight?  When I ask them about their efforts, they share:

  • I did the gm diet for a month
  • I took herbal life shake for three months
  • I went on fruits and liquid diet
  • I do gym every day!

Ok, wait! Any sensible approach? This is usually my reaction to that.

So did I do anything wrong? They often ask me suspiciously.

Of course, by following above methods you are hampering your metabolism and pushing yourself to many essential nutrient deficiencies. Every second day I get cases of low iron, vitamin B12, calcium, low muscle mass and a high percentage of fat.

Do we have any way to lose weight and not feel tired and dull whole day?

Yes, there is. By eating a healthy, balanced diet and eating a variety of food is the only way to get long lasting weight loss result. By eating right, you can improve your metabolism and nourish your body so that you don't fall for a metabolic disorder like diabetes, thyroid, PCOD, heart diseases etc. I have helped hundreds of clients every month to give them a long lasting healthy weight loss.

Few tips to get you started on your weight loss journey:

  1. Have filling breakfast which consists of cereal (complex carbohydrate), a protein source (egg/ beans/ milk and milk product) and vitamin and mineral source (fruit/ vegetables).
