Mr. lybrate-user, Diabetes can only be treated effectively with modern medicines. The drugs or various therapies advertised by alternate medical practices have very little role to play in treating diabetes. Unfortunately a lot lofty claims are made, but there are no supportive clinical studies. Sometimes, certain medications are used as a supportive or additional therapies. The real benefit is a big question mark. At best those are just supportive drugs. Thanks.

Cold, cough and throat problem can happen due to weather changes, exposure to cold air or rain, dust and pollen allergy and certain sour food. *. Mix some salt in warm water and do gargling early in the mornings. * Steam inhalation will relieve your congestion *. Keep a clove (lavang) in your mouth and slowly chew it. *. Drinking water frequently will eliminate toxins From the body and reduce congestion if any *. Avoid fried and oily foods. This can be treated by homoeopathy without adverse effects. Take Belladonna 200 –once in the morning and once in the evening.

dear sneha. 1st of all 1 thing i want to clear that climbing of 6 floors is good exercise capacity for a normal daily moderately working people. if you want me to add more scientific details. climbing more than 5 flight of stairs requires at least >20ml/kg/min of o2 supply through lungs, which is far greater than normal consumption of 250 ml/min. so you are feeling all those symptoms. as far as my knowledge is concerned no need for further testing... if u want further clarification contact me by replying to this message

Hello dear. I can understand. Your feeling & mood are obvious. But you have to move on. Thats d life. & that person would have never like that you live in depression my advises to you are * take life lightly * main problem is how you are reacting matters & incidence of your life & day to day * you can see half filled glass of water by two way: half is still empty (nagative attitude) or half full (positive) * take balance diet * give time for yoga * constipation should removed * you can take brahmi sankhpuspi etc ayurveda medicine * I recommended strongly, go near by ayurveda centre & take shirodhara & nashya treatment.

Follow these methods to get rid of tanning: * take one teaspoon of lemon juice with 1/2 teaspoon of glycerine on tanned areas and leave for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse off with cold water. * you can use cucumber with lemon juice to apply on tanned area. * gently rub the slices of raw tomatoes on tanned area for 5 minutes and then clean with water. You can apply pulp of tomatoes on skin and leave on for 20 minuteon and then rinse with water. * mix one teaspoon of curd with one teaspoon of fuller' s earth (multani mitti) mix and apply it on face for 5 - 7 minutes and then rinse of with water. * apply rose water on tanned area. * mix one teaspoon of curd with one teaspoon of besan apply it for 10 minutes and rinse with water. It remove dead layer of skin and tanning.

You need to eat right food and right amount instead of'eating lot' take small meals in frequent interval. Take curd or in form of raita. Choose complex carbohydrate instead of simple carbohydrate. Choose blended oil. Take high biological protein containing foods. Eat more more fruits and vegetables.

Please do not rely on medicines to increase stamina. Eat healthy diet and your overall health will improve a lot Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. Hi, I had a small lumps in between the ribs on the right side. When we will touch I have pain on it and it moves here and there. One of the doctor told me to massage with oil. When we massage after some time it will remove and after some time it is back. When I eat dinner it would be very painful and I cant sleep to the right side. What is this? how can I treat this?

Hi, couldn't able to get what kind of lump/ swelling is there? can you explain in detail? it can be lipoma/ a boil or can be something else? what was the diagnosis done by the doctor? meantime, take homoeopathic medication - calc. Fluor. 12x/ thrice daily and thuja 30/ thrice a day - for 20 days.

Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take Calc fluor 200--once daily in the morning.

•Combine turmeric powder and gram flour. •Add oil and lemon juice to this. •Now add enough milk to get a paste like consistency. •Apply this mask to your face or any other body part where you have pigmentation. •Leave for 10-15 minutes. •Now wet your fingers a little and rub them on your face in circular motion over the dried mask. Give more attention to the pigment affected areas. •Do this for about 5 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. •Repeat this 2-3 times a week.

What is a dowager's hump?
The term dowager's hump is a more casual term for the medical condition referred to as kyphosis. It is the uncommon curvature of the thoracic vertebrae of the upper part of the back in an outward direction.

It is most commonly seen in women than in men. When the front part of the vertebrae becomes involved and gets compressed due to osteoporosis, it will later on result to the spine bending forward and producing a hump at the upper back portion.

What causes a dowager's hump?
The hump can be caused by other conditions and these should be determined in order to get the correct treatment. Based on the research of the university of maryland medical center, this kyphosis problem can be caused by genetic abnormalities.

The disfiguration in the patient's genes can result to the inappropriate growth of the vertebral column. Other conditions linked with other congenital problems could also cause this hump.

It is also been mentioned in some studies that it can also be due to wedge fractures wherein the front part of a vertebra collapses causing the spine to be misaligned a little. The above part of the fracture tips forwards and creating a slight back curve.

As the vertebra over the wedge fracture is tipped forward, it puts pressure on other vertebrae that could lead to developing a wedge fracture in another vertebra. The more wedge fractures are occurring; the back gets more bowed. In severe cases, a person's back can be extremely bent over.

How is a dowager's hump treated?
There are several ways to treat dowager's hump. The main goal of treatment for this condition is by preventing bone loss, although it can also be utilized as a management which is beneficial for patients who experience pain resulting from vertebral fractures.

The procedure is called vertebroplasty, where bone cement is injected to stabilize the vertebrae. Another procedure for this condition is performing kyphoplasty for individuals with compression fractures in the bottom half of the spine.

Exercises for dowager's hump
Based on some research studies in the medical society, yoga exercises can be a great contribution in treating dowager's hump. The upper spine curvature of individuals who did yoga for six months reduced the back problem by about five percent compared to those who did not.
Here are some 5 easy poses that can be done to straighten the spine:

Seated mountain
Sit straight at the front edge of the chair with the butt firm and flat. Secure the feet on the floor by steadying it there. Inhale and stretch out the spine upward. Bring the shoulders down along with the head placed over the spine, then breathe uniformly keeping the posture for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Henpecking
Sit in the same seated mountain position then pull the head backward as if making a double chin. Do it again for 6 to 10 times. Do not lift or jut the chin in a forward manner. Focus on the backward movement with the shoulder rolled and lifted when inhaling, then compress the shoulder blades together at the back when exhaling. Do it 6 to 10 times in full circles.

Seated superman
Sit tall. Inhale while clasping the hands behind the back. Hold the arms away from the body when exhaling. Do it all over for 3 to 6 times. Remain in the same pose by continuously breathing if desired.

Rocking horse
Sit tall as above. Keep the fit firm on the floor and draw the head back. Stay in this posture, and then bend forward by not rounding the spine. The muscles in the abdomen should remain firm and shoulders should be square. Bend back as far as possible with the feel still planted on the floor. Go through again for 10 to 20 times.

Methods of prevention for dowager's hump
Preventive measures must be taken to avoid this condition. Tips that can prevent dowager's hump include:

Daily doses of vitamins c and d
Exercise
Work-outs for coordination and balance in order to prevent spine fractures
Eat a healthy and balanced diet
Sleeping practices
Training for strength and weight.

Hello, take bc no. 27, 5 tabs twice daily. Take biofungin syrup, 2 tsp twice daily. Drink plenty of water. Eat a well balanced nutritious diet. Take sound sleep of 7-8 hours. Avoid stress and anger, try to be happy, have a positive attitude towards life. Revert me after 15 days.

Hi, Hollow cheeks can be a result of aging. As you grow older, your face muscles lose their normal tone and elasticity. The result is sagging skin on your face, wrinkles and hollow cheeks. Failure to eat a healthy diet, dehydration or exposure to excessive sun may also contribute to hollow cheeks. Engaging in regular exercises that work out your face muscles can help prevent or lessen the prominence of hollow cheeks. -Cheek inflation- It is performed by holding your mouth closed and filling it with air. Begin by moving the air under your upper lip and hold it there for 10 seconds before moving it to your left cheek followed by your right cheek. Be sure that you hold the air for 10 seconds in each position. -Exercise With a Smile-It is performed by looking into a mirror and smiling while keeping your mouth closed. Follow this exercise by wrinkling your nose to help stimulate the muscles located under your cheek. -Cheek lifting-The ‘cheek lifting’ exercise entails lifting your cheeks by smiling as you press down on the lower part of your eye socket using your index fingers. You can also tone the facial muscle beneath your eyes by performing eye exercises. With your mouth open, pull your upper lip inwards. Then, while looking upwards, narrow your eyes and place your fingers just below the lower eyelids. Gently press downwards as you try to close your eyes. Hold this position for 4 to 5 seconds, release and do five to 10 repetitions. The facial yoga exercises work out all muscles of the face and help eliminate sagging facial skin and wrinkles. -Our eyes often sink in with age, resulting in an unsightly appearance. This exercise will help tone the skin around your eyes to help achieve a more youthful look. Sit in a comfortable chair with your eyes closed. Keep your eyes closed and move your eyeballs as if you were looking as far up as possible followed by looking down as far as possible. Repeat 10 to 15 times. Another eye exercise is performed by closing your eyes and lifting your eyebrows up as far as possible to help stretch the skin of your eyelids. You should hold this position for about 10 seconds and repeat 10 times.
