There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 20 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Hello. I have few suggestions for you. It would be a better idea to use a cold (clean) towel. It would help to cause constriction of the vasculature and reduce the swelling around the eyes. Alternatively, you could use a lubricant eye drop (5 to 6 times in a day) this would again keep the eyes moist and help in reducing the redness. In case there is persistent redness along with discharge, it would be a better idea to get an eyecheckup done in person. Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. (6) increased blood pressure. This has known to cause redness which is also known as sub-conjunctival hemorrhage. In this regard, a complete ophthalmic evaluation and a systemic evaluation is warranted. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You could also use a lubricant eye drop along with an anti-histamine eye drop. (3-4 times daily) hope my suggestions helped you.

Hi. Do you have near-sightedness or myopia? Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

How to improve my eye sight?

FICO, Specialist in Cataract,Cornea and refractive surgeries , MD - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist,
Kindly mention if you have poor vision even without glasses. Normally the number gets stabilise after 18yrs of age. There is no major role of food or any other thing in keeping it good. Use of goggles outside to protect against ultraviolet rays and eating green leafy vegetables and fruits may have some effect.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your problem. It can be quite cumbersome to have a lot of discharge (sticky substance) coming from the eyes. There are multiple causes associated with it. Let me enumerate a few for you: (1)(1) allergy of the eye. The basis of all these aforementioned problems is improper/ inadequate eye hygiene. Usually the body hygiene is taken care of quite well. This is not the same with the eyes. The reason being that we tend to rub our eyes with fingers, use handkerchief, clothes, etc. This would cause a lot allergy, bacteria and dust to get transferred to the eyes. So the prime thing to be remembered is to avoid touching the eyes with the above mentioned things. A good idea would be to keep washing your eyes 4 to 5 times daily with clean hands and clean water. This would enable the debris and the dust to be debulked and washed off. You could also use a lubricant eye drop 5 to 6 times daily along with an antibiotic eye drop 4 times in a day. Cover your eyes with appropriate wear (helmet/ sunglasses) when going out in dust or polluted environment. On the whole, adopt a holistic approach rather than just resorting to the medications. This will succeed in relieving you off your problems. Take care. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care.

While meditating why I have to yawn and I got water from my eyes more in right eye.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
While meditating why I have to yawn and I got water from my eyes more in right eye.
Yawning is usually caused due to imbalance between the carbon di oxide and oxygen. While meditating, it may so happen that there may be a disruption in the balance of the two. This would cause yawning. Now when you yawn, there may be simultaneous reflex regurgitation of the tears from the nasolacrimal duct or sac (the portion of the eye which is responsible for draining of tears). This would naturally cause water to come out from the eyes. Thus, it is a totally normal phenomenon. I would advice you not to worry in this regard. Take care.

I am suffering from red eyes from three days kindly give me some good solution regarding this.

DO , DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Kanpur
I am suffering from red eyes from three days kindly give me some good solution regarding this.
Basically red eye can be due to conjunctivitis, uveitis or glaucoma. The ophthalmologist will be able to differentiate to come to a proper conclusion so you must see the ophthalmologist but in the mean time if there is discharge one should put antibiotic drop frequently. If the red eye is due to conjunctivitis certainly it will do no harm. I suggest to put' vigamox' eye drop hourly alongwith hot fumentation and consultant ophthalmologist.
