Homeopath,
Dear lybrate user, masturbation should not be done for more than twice in a week. Sperm cells are being continuously produced inside human testis. A single sperm cell needs about 4 months to mature before being ejaculated. Masturbating ejaculates many mature as well as immature sperm & results in the temporary deficit of sperm count. This loss of sperm results in the increased production of sperm. A sperm is mainly made up of protein. An increased production of sperm count needs a steady supply of protein. This supply of protein is met from the amount of protein we intake daily. Over masturbation increases the rate of production of sperm to such extent that the demand for protein cannot be fulfilled naturally & it often results in breakdown of protein from muscle tissues. This breakdown of muscle tissues is externally manifested as fatigue, weakness etc. Addiction to masturbation denotes that you are continuously indulged in sexual thoughts. This type of thoughts is common in people who live a sedentary life. If you really have a sedentary life-style you should get yourself out from it immediately. Socialize yourself. Do some physical exercise daily. Drink a lots of water. Create a routine of your daily schedule & maintain it. Stop watching porn in case you have developed a habit of watching it also you can take homoeopathic mother tincture origanum q, 10 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. This medicine will help to control your excessive sexual desire. However, you can masturbate for twice in a week.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Chest pain is due to anxiety. You can be health conscious. But you should not think about your heart health always and be apprehensive. This leads to obsession, obsession leads to chest pain, pain leads to anxiety, anxiety leads to acidity and hyperventilation and this leads to chest pain, anxiety etc. These are cyclical and one leads to another. I suggest counselling and cognitive behavior therapy as a cure. Take care.

Testicles move in the bag, this is natural you need not worry. But if pain starts you have to support the scrotum with scrotal bandage

This fluid coming out is semen .Semen, also known as seminal fluid, is an organic fluid that contains sperms. It is secreted by the sexual glands. Semen coming out at night is also called Night fall or Nocturnal emission or Wet dreams. Do not be tensed about this issue. It is normal at your age. It is not an illness but a natural phenomenon by which old sperms come out and make space for new sperms. New sperms are produced continuously in our body by pushing away the older ones. It does not cause any physical harm or weakness.

Top 5 Low Glycemic Foods to Snack on

Diploma in Naturopathy & Yogic Science (DNYS), M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition

Top 5 Low Glycemic Foods to Snack on

Low Glycemic Index foods are those that cause minor changes in blood sugar levels.

Previously, most meal plans designed to improve blood sugar analyzed the total amount of carbohydrates (including sugars and starches) in the foods themselves. GI goes beyond this approach, looking at the impact of foods on our actual blood sugar. In other words, instead of counting the total amount of carbohydrates in foods in their unconsumed state, GI measures the actual impact of these foods on our blood sugar.

Foods that are high on the glycemic index scale tend to raise the blood sugar when they are digested. Low glycemic foods allow a more controlled and steady release of energy in the body. Low glycemic foods have plenty of health benefits; so choosing them as snacks can be a very healthy choice.

Meats and fats don't have a GI because they do not contain carbohydrate.

Below are examples of foods based on their GI:

Low GI Foods (55 or Less)

  • All-bran
  • Oat bran
  • Rolled Oats
  • Natural Muesli
  • Porridge
  • 100% stone-ground whole wheat or pumpernickel bread
  • Pasta, converted rice, barley, bulgar
  • Sweet potato, corn, yam, lima/butter beans, peas, legumes and lentils
  • Most fruits, non-starchy vegetables and carrots
  • Soya and Linseed
  • Wholegrain Pumpernickel
  • Heavy Mixed Grain
  • Whole Wheat
  • Sourdough Rye
  • Sourdough Wheat
  • Frozen Green Peas
  • Frozen Sweet Corn
  • Raw Carrots
  • Boiled Carrots
  • Eggplant/Aubergine
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Cabbage
  • Mushrooms
  • Tomatoes
  • Chillies
  • Lettuce
  • Green Beans
  • Red Peppers
  • Onions

Medium GI (56-69)

  • Whole wheat, rye and pita bread
  • Quick oats
  • Brown, wild or basmati rice, couscous

High GI (70 or more)

  • White bread or bagel
  • Corn flakes, puffed rice, bran flakes, instant oatmeal
  • Shortgrain white rice, rice pasta, macaroni and cheese from mix
  • Russet potato, pumpkin
  • Pretzels, rice cakes, popcorn, saltine crackers
  • melons and pineapple

What Affects the GI of a Food?

Fat and fiber tend to lower the GI of a food. As a general rule, the more cooked or processed a food, the higher the GI; however, this is not always true.

Below are a few specific examples of other factors that can affect the GI of a food:

  1. Ripeness and Storage time - the more ripe a fruit or vegetable is, the higher the GI
  2. Processing juice has a higher GI than whole fruit; mashed potato has a higher GI than a whole baked potato, stone ground whole wheat bread has a lower GI than whole wheat bread.
  3. Cooking Method - how long a food is cooked (al dente pasta has a lower GI than soft-cooked pasta)
  4. Variety - converted long-grain white rice has a lower GI than brown rice but short-grain white rice has a higher GI than brown rice

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dietitian nutritionist and ask a free question.
