Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation also please mention if there are any other symptoms like swelling, any s/s of inflammation or infection like skin redness, local warmth at affected site etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. I am a 21 year male. 3 days back during my workout at gym I lifted a very heavy weight since then I having mild pain whenever I am drinking water and constipation problem has started from that day.

Take 2-tab. Charcol at night before bed. Syp. Livoluk 10 ml at night.This can help cure in constipation. take green veg., salaad in meal.grapes at night,one apple daily in morning. Banana in morning, juice,whole grain ,oats,more fiber meal,digestive foods, plenty of water during day and 1 glass of water before meal, avoid bad habits...stress ,alcohol, smoking, non-veg.,avoid fatty meal,oily foods. To confirm cause of constipation go for tests stool r/m, stool c/s,lft,blood sugar,cbc,usg whole abdomen ,x ray barium meal for examination for rectum,sigmoid, best tests is endoscopy for large intestine . Depending on the extent of the smoking you need to visit a cardiologist, just to rule out any effect of the smoking. Then if any tests are required that will also help pin-point the problem and cause.

High uric acid alone is usually not the only reason for multiple joint pains. Conversely, 90% of multiple joint pains are not because of high uric acid levels.

I have numbness in my toes and my lower back pain and my buttocks keep burning and feel they are getting squeezed when I sit on a chair for sometime if I use a hot pad I feel better this is there from past 1 year my hba1c is 6.5 doctor I am 59 years old my diabetic doctor has put me on sitagliptin (Zita 50mg) once per day how do get rid of the pain and numbness doctor please advise. Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

My daughter, 25 years old (92 kg and taking treatment for PCOD) is diagnosed with Grade II L5-S1 lytic lysthesis. The intervening L5-S1 disc has narrowed, degenerated and shows large diffuse pseudobulging. She has been given painkillers and advised operation. Requesting your advice and for how long can we hold back the operation and if the same is necessary. Thanks.

I have an sitting job last 4 yrs. I have seen back pain problem last 25 days. 2 different doctor visited but no pain relief. Help me.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

My wife is 47 years female having normal physical fitness. For the past one month she is complaining about pain in both her knee joints. She feels a bit too pain while going up and down the stairs, folding her knee and when she wakes up from sleep. She climbs and descends our two storied house many times in the day and works very hard to do her household work. She also goes to drop her child at school and to the bazaar. What should she do? My age 31 weight 112 height 6' 1 my problem is related to AC joint fracture. Which I had due to accident in year 2007. It is stage 3 type fracture. But don' t have any problem with it today as I have not gone through operation. What is the success ratio of such operation and whether is it necessary to operate.

I am a 35 years old female suffering from knee pain since 3 weeks what should I do?

Applying cold compresses to the painful knee is one of the best and easiest ways to reduce pain and swelling. The cold will constrict the blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the affected area and thus reducing swelling. It will also give you relief from the pain. 1. Wrap a handful of ice cubes in a thin towel. 2. Apply the compress to the affected knee area for 10 to 20 minutes. 3. Do this two or three time daily until your pain is gone. A bag of frozen peas also works well as a cold compress. You can opt for alternating hot and cold compresses as well for chronic pains. Also take mag phos 6x - thrice daily 4 tablets each time. Do a x-ray of the affected area.

I am 74 years old. I feel giddiness when I get up from the bed. Cervical spondylitis has been diagnosed. Gap between disc C5 and C6 and C6 and C7 vertebrae is less. Kindly advise any medication/physiotherapy I need.

Hello, if you are suffering from cervical spondylitis try to take some ayurveda medicines along with massage and physiotherapy. Take br. Vatachintamani ras tab 1 tab twice with honey 1tsf. Maha ygaraj guggal 500 mg twice after food, mahanarayan tel massage with hot fomentation. Use collar 8 hours to support your neck. Have mild physiotherapy bilaterally moving your head and neck. Sit in yoga and practice meditation.

Dear doc, I am 22 years old. I have been putting up weight since 6-7 years constantly even when my consumption of food is less and regular also I have acnes, pimples, hair fall etc problem. And overtime I have also started developing backache. Pls help me with some remedies.

Weight is too much. Metabolism needs to be corrected by simple herbal decoctions and little routine changes. For the time being pl start taking Ajwain + pachkol herbs decoction at home and consult.
