I have 3 years old baby boy. I have stopped breast feeding but still some times milk droplets appears on my nipples. Why?

BHMS, DEMS

I have 3 years old baby boy. I have stopped breast feeding but still some times milk droplets appears on my nipples. ...
Many moms find that their breasts continue to leak long after they wean. They may be able to express drops of fluid for months or even years after their baby weans, especially during a shower. The fluid that leaks out after weaning tends to look more like colostrum (thin, sticky, and yellowish) than white or creamy like mature milk. Since it took your breasts nine months of pregnancy to go through the physical changes that prepared them to make breast milk, it’s not surprising that they don’t go back to their pre-pregnancy state. Immediately after your baby weans. Leaking after weaning doesn’t become a concern unless the breasts produce a lot of milk for long periods of time. If the breasts remain swollen, hard or tender, or a large amount of milk continues to leak for months after weaning, then there may be a medical problem that should be evaluated by a doctor knowledgeable about lactation. Advise =Breast pads Breast pads can really be a savior. I prefer the cotton ones that are washable and reusable because they are more environmentally friendly, but there are disposable ones as well. There are also silicon pads that apply pressure to stop leaking. Just pop any of these in your bra and the leaks are at least contained. Some of these pads can show through an unpadded bra, making it look like you have really pronounced areolas, so padded bras are a good idea. If you ever find yourself in an emergency situation without pads, but fear a leak is eminent: Just use a menstrual pad or panty liner, cut down to fit, and stick it to the inside of your bra. Works like a charm. 2.Sage contains a form of estrogen, which will help your body dry up the breast milk. Sage tea can be found at any health food store. You can also make it at home if you have the sage spice. Simply rub 1 tsp. Of sage into a cup of hot water and let it steep for about 15 minutes. Add some honey or milk to the tea, as sage is very bitter. Drink one cup every six hours; this should help reduce your milk quickly. It is best to use sage tea to give your body comfort while you wait for the milk to dry. Avoid warm touch. While a cool touch can bring relief, a warm touch can trigger your body to produce breast milk. A warm or hot shower can stimulate milk production, so unless you are looking for a way to release a little milk, keep your breast away from warm water. Drink water. It is important to keep yourself hydrated. One myth that has serious negative impact is that if you reduce your water intake, this will reduce your milk supply. However, if you do not drink water, you will become dehydrated. This will increase the risk of developing not only a breast infection, but a urinary tract infection as well.

Safed Musli

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bundi
Safed Musli
Safed Musli (chlorophytum borivilianum)
Uses:-
-A curative for physical weakness and many illnesses.
-An aphrodisiac agent and vitalizer.
-An effective alternative to the Indian herbal aphrodisiac.
-A general sex tonic.
-An immunity-improving drug.
-A remedy for diabetes.
-A remedy for arthritis.

My recommendations: Get herb from local panwari (local dry herbs seller) and grind it at home. Hard Musli is a good quality musli. Flexible and soft musli is not good.

Note:

In Raj Nighantu (an esteemed reference guide to Ayurvedic herbs) it has been described that the kali (black) mush is more effective than white mush, which is botanically identified as chlorophytum tuberosum.

Hello sir I had an unprotected sex with a person 4 months back. Visibly he is healthy and do not have any illness. After 1 month of that incident I developed rashes with itching in my body mainly sides of my naval few over my hands, thighs and back. It looks urticaria when consulted with a friend who is doctor. After 2 weeks I had a flu just for one day and started paining my heels first followed by finger joints in hands and toes. Further this pain felt all my joints especially knee elbow and shoulder. I read in google about psoriatic arthritis symptoms similar to this. I consulted a doctor to show this rash and he was not sure it s psoriasis or else and said me to look for a skin specialist. Further I started ocular pain along with a lack of balance and migraine type head ache. Within 3 weeks these urticaria subsided fully with application of coconut oil only. Still other symptoms like nausea lack of appetite and frequency of bowel evacuation continued. I tested 6 times for hiv elisa within these 4 months and after 3 months 2 times and all results were negative. My blood count shows normal values through out but last time ESR was 29, a bit elevated. I felt fatigue all throughout these days and severely tensed and anxious on my problems. I am scared to consult a physician due to my scared thoughts. What should I do and which speciality I want to consult? My migraine head ache, eye pain and loss of appetite are the current main problems along with weakness. Please give me a good answer or suggestion to get rid off my tension.

The best time to get a pregnancy test is after 7 days of the missed period. You should take it at around the 21st of this month.

Acoustic Trauma, Preserve Your Hearing!

MS - General Surgery, MBBS
General Surgeon,
Acoustic Trauma, Preserve Your Hearing!
Acoustic Trauma, Preserve Your Hearing! Here is a riddle for you. What is Painless, Progressive, Permanent but Preventable? The answer is ..... Noise Induced Hearing Loss! When we are exposed to loud sounds, it takes a toll on our ears resulting in permanent, irreversible hearing loss. With technology enhanced devices and events the level of sound generated through earphones, personal listening devices (PLDs) is of growing concern as it unknowingly damages hearing. It is ironic: the very thing that drives us to get an iPod – music – could prevent our ability to enjoy it! It is important to remember: Noise Induced Hearing Loss is Preventable! The following tips may help save your hearing.

Ø Do not Listen So Loud – Use the “60-60 Rule:” Limit listening level to 60 % of the maximum volume for 60 minutes a day. Anything louder than that over an extended period is risky.

Ø Use Volume Control – Limit the volume to 80 percent of maximum and listen no longer than 90 minutes a day.

Ø Limit Your Listening – The length of time you listen, not just the volume, can contribute to hearing loss. Avoid prolonged, continuous listening.

Ø Limit Noisy Activities - At home, turn down the volume on the TV, radio, and stereo. Reduce the number of noisy appliances running at the same time.

Ø Protect your Ears - Wear earplugs or muffs when exposed to loud Noise. Avoid medications that can be dangerous (ototoxic) to your ears. Ask your physician about possible effects on your hearing.

I want to know about PCOS or PCOD. What are the symptoms of PCOS or PCOD. What are the home remedy to deal with PCOS or PCOD. How to get rid from PCOD or PCOS soon.

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hello lybrate-user, pcod or pcos is polycystic ovarian disease. This condition arises due to inability of the follicles to rupture and release the egg in uterine cavity to be fertilized. The unruptured egg form a cyst. If this process continues, it gives rise to many cysts in the ovary and hence the name" polycystic" ovarian disease. This condition is characterised by absence of menses, increase in weight, increase in blood sugar levels and darkening of skin. This condition is treatable and requires a thorough course of medications and regular exercise. You can perform yoga exercises which has proved to give good results in such conditions.

Most pregnancy tests will be positive by the time a woman has missed her period. Other early signs of pregnancy include fatigue, feeling bloated, frequent urination, mood swings, nausea, and tender or swollen breasts. Not all women have all of these symptoms, but it is common to have at least one of them.
