I am 30 years old male and recently I took a blood test and it came back with +1 blood in urine and Many mucus in urine, I am a moderate smoker. I have no symptoms and pain while urinating, I am really stressed as I read on the internet that these symptoms can be signs of bladder cancer, any advice would be appreciated.

Mera naam Dr. K S Anamika hai. Ek stri rog aevam infertility vishagya hu. Aaj apse baat krungi ki aap apne IVF k success rate ko kaise improve kar skte hain. Aaj samaj mei hamare paas infertility ke cases bahut badh gye hain. Magar samajik kuntha jo sath e thi vo jarur kam ho gyi hai. Mariz hmare pas bilkul freely aate hain. Or IVF ke lia puchte hain or IVF krate hain. But bhartiye dumpatti ke pas abhi bhi itna financial support nhi hai ki vo do bar, teen bar, IVF kra sakein. Kyuki IVF ka success rate 40-45% tak hi hota hai, to hmesha marizon ke mann me ek khayal hota hai ki aisa vo kya kren ki unke IVF ke results ache aayen. To mai isi sambandh me aapki madad krna chahungi.

IVF ka jo taknik hai usmei pehle ande bnaye jate hain. Fir ande or pati ke sperm ka fertilization bahar kr ke, apke bache dani mei embryo ko transfer krte hain. Uss embryo ke transfer ke din se leke – 15 din ke baad apko apna pregnancy test lena hota hai. Aur iss 15 din ke dauran marizon ke maan me kayi baatein chalti rehti hain. Mai aisa kya karun ki mere IVF ka result acha ho? Is chiz ko hum 2 bhago me baatenge. Pehle to IVF ke pehle kuch steps or dusra apke embryo transfer ke bad ke 14 din mei aapki savdhaniyan. Pehle apko khayal rkhna hai ki aap sahi samay pe apna IVF krayein. Jaise ki kayi bar mariz 10 saal, 15 saal, shaadi ke baad bhi chizon ko talte rehte hain.

Jis se unki umar badhne ke baad success hone ke chances kam ho jate hain. To IVF ka chunav aap jaldi kar lein. Aap apne sharir ki har chiz pe dhayan dein. Vitamin deficiency, anemia ko pehle treat kar lein. Aur teesra apne pelvic organs ke aas paas jo bhi problem ho unko thik kara lein. Aapke andedani mei endometriosis ya kuch or bimariyan hain, inko pehle settle down karen. Ab baat aati hai ki apne IVF kara liya aur baad ke 14 dino tak apko kya savdhaniyan leni hai. Kayi baar mariz aur unke parivaar jan ye kehte hain, ki hum to inko bistar se uthne nhi denge, ye bilkul leti hi rhegi 14 dino tak, taki we can get the results. Lekin aisa krne se aapka mansik tanav aur badhta hai. Studies batati hai ki aap apna dincharya jaisa tha, vaise rakh sakte hain. Bss apko physical stress nhi lena hai. Dusra religiously aapko medicines follow karni hai. Aisa karne se aapka hormonal imbalance nhi hoga.

Bleeding ke chances kam honge. Or success results hume ache milenge. Infection se apna bachav krna hai. Bahar ka khana, bahar ka toilet use krna, peshab bahut der tak rokna, in sab chizon par pura dhyan dein. Agar aapke peshab mei thodi bhi jalan ho to use thik kra lein. Kyuki urinary infection bhut bada cause hai ki apka embryo apni jagha pe transfer nhi ho pata hai. Aur inhi sare nirdeshon ke sath me aap sab ko shubh kamnayein dungi, ki apko bhi happy family mile. Jitne bhi infertile couples hain, vo aaj ke vigyan ke tarikon ko use kr ke jld se jld mata pita banne ka sukh prapt kren.

Thank you!

How To Prevent Accidental Pregnancy

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
How To Prevent Accidental Pregnancy
We are humans. Our emotions rule over rational thought. So most of the time we start to worry after the deed is done. A woman does 90% of the worrying.

You need to take the pill for at least 10 days before one can really expect it to be effective. It has to become a habit. The pill, once started must be taken religiously for at least 21 days, else it will cause an untimely period. But it is the safest, healthiest and best way to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. There is no pill which can be taken after the act to give you 100% protection.

Emergency contraceptives (morning-after pills) are actually high dose hormones. You take 1 or 2, and that's it. It is more convenient an less costly, but it is bound to cause some bleeding within a week, unless the actual period is due shortly. At the same time, it can delay the coming normal period, rousing fears of pregnancy again.

Actually, here neither you nor the doctor can do anything much before 3 weeks. Then if the urine test is negative, one can wait for the delayed cycle to come. And usually it will come within 10-14 days delay. Do the maths now. Were you exposed during the most fertile period? say between 10th and 18th day of a 28 days cycle? if yes, be sure to take emergency pills within 12 hours. And still if you want 100% surely, go to a doctor for copper t insertion the next morning, specially if you have one baby already.

Sudden Weight Loss - Why Is It Bad?

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)
General Physician, Delhi
Sudden Weight Loss - Why Is It Bad?

Sudden weight loss is extremely common. It is mainly adopted by people who are depressed because of their weight and want to reduce weight rapidly. There can be various reasons why people would want to adopt sudden weight loss techniques. Few of these reasons are obesity, feelings of social neglect, heart diseases and inactivity or lethargy.

Sometimes many people want to reduce weight as soon as possible. They try to lose weight by dieting or by consuming certain medications. This might result in a lot of complications such as:

  1. If you reduce weight rapidly, it might cause the skin to be left behind and also it will cause the skin to sag. This also creates stretch marks on the surface of your skin from where you intend to lose weight. This might give a very unsightly appearance to your body. So it is better to reduce weight slowly.
  2. Many people try to starve themselves while dieting to get faster results. This is extremely harmful for your body. It can result in dehydration and sometimes also lead to nausea or fainting.
  3. Rapid weight loss can also make you lose water from your body. This can be extremely detrimental for your health. It is difficult to burn a lot of calories in a short time instead you might be burning water from your body which is very harmful.
  4. Sudden weight loss is not a permanent solution. You should be very careful while adopting rapid forms of weight loss exercise or diet, you might lose weight for a limited period, but since your body isn’t trained to adapt to temporary and rapid changes, you might start gaining weight rapidly instead.
  5. Rapid weight loss can also lead to the formation of gallstones. It can also cause infection because of obstruction in the normal flow of the bile from the gallbladder to the intestine.
  6. Hair loss can also occur, if you are trying to lose weight rapidly. Protein intake gets reduced when you follow a strict diet plan for rapid weight loss. This can make your hair extremely brittle and dry hence causing it to break.

If you want to reduce weight, it is better to follow a diet chart which does not make you starve and rather balances your diet. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

For protection, you have to do sexual intercourse of safe days which are just after the periods & just before the peroids. At these days, the chances of pregnancy is very less.

Importance of Vitamin D During Pregnancy

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Indore
Importance of Vitamin D During Pregnancy

Vitamin D and pregnancy go hand in hand. Expecting mothers need to ensure they get the recommended amounts of vitamin D during pregnancy for the healthy development of the baby as well as their own well-being.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin obtained mostly from consuming fortified milk or juice, fish oils and dietary supplements. It also is produced in the skin by exposure to sunlight. Vitamin D, which is ingested or produced in the skin must undergo hydroxylation in the liver and kidney to promote absorption of calcium from the gut to enable normal bone mineralization and growth. Severe maternal vitamin D deficiency has been associated with congenital rickets and disordered skeletal homeostasis coupled with fractures in the newborn during pregnancy.  Vitamin D is necessary for the metabolism and absorption of phosphorus and calcium. Many studies are finding a connection between low serum vitamin D levels and an increased risk of certain types of autoimmune disease, cancers, insulin resistance, neurological disease and cardiovascular disease.

Latest studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is common during pregnancy especially among women residing in northern latitudes, living in cold climates or wear sun and winter protective clothing and ethnic minorities, especially those with darker skin. As the vitamin D level of newborn is largely dependent on maternal vitamin D status, the infants of mothers with vitamin D deficiency are also at risk of vitamin D deficiency. Inadequate level of vitamin D can lead to abnormal bone growth, fractures, or rickets in newborns. Deficiency of vitamin D leads to a higher risk of pregnancy complications like gestational diabetes, premature birth and low birth weight.

The symptoms of a vitamin D deficiency include aching muscles, bone pain, and softened bones leading to fractures. Fish liver oil, fatty fish, and eggs are excellent food source for Vitamin D. It is difficult to get sufficient vitamin D from food, which makes it necessary to have vitamin D supplements. Since the skin uses the sun's rays to produce vitamin D, limited sun exposure is recommended. Exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays intensifies the pigment changes causing skin darkening in pregnant women. Thus, most doctors endorse that pregnant women protect themselves from the sun and get their vitamin D from supplements. The average prenatal vitamin contains 400 IU of vitamin D, which makes it imperative that additional supplements should be taken. The significant compounds for human development are D2 and D3. The best way to really ensure adequate vitamin D is through simple supplementation. Ergocalciferol is the vegetarian form of vitamin D, whereas cholecalciferol is the animal-sourced form, derived from fish liver oil or lanolin from sheep. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.
