If she misses her normal monthly period on due date it is sign of pregnancy. Then she should test her urine for pregnancy. Kits are available at chemist shop you can test at home if it comes -ve then thanks to god and stop premarital sex.

hi lybrate user, while you are breastfeeding you won't get periods and likely chances of pregnancy will be their after 3months. sometime in early pregnancy urine test for pregnancy may be negative. If you any other symptoms of the pregnancy you should do a blood test called BHCG for pregnancy confirmation.

Yes, it is safe to eat honey during pregnancy. Honey poses a risk to infants under 1 year old because it may contain spores of bacteria that cause botulism. Botulism bacteria thrive in areas with low acidity.

In 1 month pregnancy my doctor suggested Rantac twice a day. Can I use Pan D twice as it is more powerful.

Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Pan D is to be taken once a day. It is best to avoid both these medicines in the first 2 months of pregnancy. Therefore take them only if needed.

My periods is a bit irregular. Hoe can I calculate my ovulation and fertile dates?

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Visakhapatnam
The luteinizing hormone (lh) is consistently detected in your urine. There is an increase in presence 24 to 48 hours prior to ovulation. An ovulation predictor kit detects this increase and lets you know that you are ovulating. As ovulation predictor kits help you identify and confirm when you are ovulating, you should record these dates on your calendar. Whether you look for patterns on the calendar or not, the information will be helpful for a fertility specialist if you find yourself encountering problems when trying to conceive. Charting your cycle? even though your cycle is irregular, it is good to track it on a calendar for a few reasons. First, you may notice some clues that give you a pattern. Second, if you experience fertility problems, the data from your tracking efforts is valuable information to share with your gynecologist or fertility specialist. Cervical mucus? your cervical mucus changes when you ovulate. Cervical mucous during the first few days after your menstrual cycle will be dry. Your cervical mucus will begin to increase. As you approach ovulation, the cervical mucus will be plentiful, slippery, clear, and stretchy. Many women compare the consistency to that of egg whites. Basal body temperatures? your body temperature fluctuates with the onset of ovulation. If you are tracking your basal body temperature, you will find a spike in temperature as ovulation occurs. This lets you know that ovulation is occurring.

My periods are irregular since it started. And now we are thinking of family planning. Will there be any problem because of it? Should I go for any treatment?

BHMS, MD - Alternate Medicine
Homeopath, Nagpur
In majority of the cases irregular menses are accredited to hormonal imbalance, but in some cases it may be pathological and secondary to some pathology of ovaries mostly. Now if you want to regularized the menses then you must establish permanent balanced first and this can be achieved only with homoeopathy, because in modern medicine we get only a hormonal support with a very temporary relief. But with homoeopathy you can strike the hormonal balance permanently which later on also give you regular menses even if you stop the medicine.

U might be suffering from anxiety, public phobia, inferiority compkex, low confidence status. To overcome all these, you need few sessions of councelling from psychologist.&they will try to exclude the origin/reason for your problem&will suggest few guide lines. You need to open up mentally very liberally to help them to find out the reason. Like your back ground, family environment, relations, attitude, way of thinking, any disappointments, shocks, low spirit abt what, fears, etc all.

I'm 10 weeks 5 days pregnant I have brownish discharge I got scanned baby is fyn with 166 hb and cervix is completely closed from where this brownish discharge is coming sometime light red I'm taking secure o and ecosprin tablet for that and I'm nauseated too and tired I'm really scared because I lost my baby in 5 month because of chromosomal abnormality I don't want to lose it too please help me out I'm really scared I need this baby very badly.

MBBS, DNB (Obstetrics and Gyneacology), FNB Reproductive Medicine
Gynaecologist, Hyderabad
Hello, usually brownish discharge means an old bleed. Shouldn't be a concern of fetal heart is fine now. If it continues, discontinue ecosprin for a few days. But to rule out chromosomal problems you need to get a nt scan and a double marker test between 11 and 13 weeks 6 days. It gives an idea about chromosomal anomalies. All the best.

Aetiology- “The assignment of a cause”

Here, a prescription is based primarily on some past trauma, illness or event rather than on the presenting symptoms. The stronger the cause-and-effect relationship between the trauma and the presenting state, the  more is the etiological prescription is indicated.

In cases with a direct aetiology, there is a clear and direct relationship between the presenting problem and the trauma which preceded it, no matter how long the problem has persisted. For example, when a patient say ( I have had recurrent headaches ever since a head injury three years ago”) that is a direct etiology. In such a case, a ‘head injury’ remedy first is to be looked for, using the symptoms of the case to differentiate between the remedies in that group. Kent’s repertory contains many etiological rubrics showing those remedies, which from clinical experience have an established reputation in curing ailments following a particular trauma, be it grief, fright, bad news, vaccination, injury, poisoning etc. the appropriate rubric is a good starting place in a case displaying a direct etiology.

Sometimes when the cause and effect relationship is very clear, particularly if there are no outstanding symptoms in the case, the etiology can completely over-rule symptomatology  as the basis for the prescription. Thus it is that our ‘trauma’ remedies such as Aconite, Arnica and Hypericum have cured many symptoms and conditions, which never appeared in their respective proving.

In a case having a direct etiology there are three choices for the prescriber: the prescription may be based on the etiology alone, on the symptoms alone or on combination of the two. It is seen that wherever possible the third option is the most reliable one, but the etiology should be used as a starting point provided there are remedies known to have that etiology as a confirmed indication.

Hello. I am 28 year old married guy and I have a 4 year kid. I have extra material relationship with girls. I don't use protection when I do sex with wife or my girlfriend. My girl friend is also married. After sex I always beware about HIV. Is it ok with that to do without protection with girl friend n wife both?

Hi Chintan. Unprotected intercourse increases your chances of infection both benign as well as the sexually transmitted ones including HIV. Hence i would not suggest you to continue having such unsafe sexual practice.

It could be due to PCOD, poor diet, sedentary life, obesity etc. Go for an USG of lower abdomen if there is any cyst in ovaries.
