Dear Lybrateuser, -Modify your dietary habits, do not skip meals, have meals on time, take 4-5 small meals including snacks rather than three large meals, chew your food well, avoid more than 1-2 cups of tea, coffee per day, also abstain from alcohol, tobacco if you do so, do not lye down for at least 1-2 hrs after meals, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime -have 7-8 glasses of water for proper digestion & removing toxins from the body -avoid spicy, fried & junk food -do regular exercise like walking, jogging, also do yoga, deep breathing for 5-10 min in the morning -follow the above habits regularly & try to avoid long term medication.

I have now diagnosed as diabetic, my age is now 55 years. What treatment I have to take as to control and remove diabetic fully. Whether it is purely curable, een I have high BP.

Mr. lybrate-user, Diabetes mellitus can only be controlled, there is no cure. Treatment has to continue for life time. Depending on type of diabetes, either oral anti-diabetic drugs or Insulin injections are given. In addition there has to be strict dietary control and regular exercise to maintain normal weight and improve internal insulin action. Thanks.

There are several things you can do to prevent a cold. they are all easy. -Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. -Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. -Get plenty of rest/sleep.staying at home will keep you from spreading germs.Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. -Drink plenty of fluids(veg/tomato soups,dal water/coconut water/herbal tea etc), and eat nutritious food(like sprouts/boiled eggs without yolk with milk). Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can impair your sleep -Treatment:A cold usually lasts for a week or two. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn't need medical treatment. -Complications like infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs must be treated with antibiotics. -Gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. -Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation. -Tablet nasorest-p once/twice daily may ease breathing. -Do steam inhalation once or twice daily

As per ayurveda the best things are as below 1) briskwalking for 30 min 2) swimming for 30. Min if you know well swimming 3) avoid completely non veg, oily spicy food, and chat masala, and sweets 4) as per ayurveda you can take tab. Sarpagandha 1 tab twice per day initially and if controlled then we can reduce it instead taking 2 allopathic medicine. 5) dinner should be early by 7.30pm and avoid day sleep. 6) if any mental stress then please reduce it.

1.Take bland diet, Avoid foods which cause acidity like spicy, oily, fatty and junk foods, onion, garlic, citrus fruit, tomato etc 2..Have proper Breakfast, Don’t skip or postpone your meal, Take home made food, Avoid food and water from outside, 3.Eat smaller meals at frequent intervals like 5-6 meals per day, and don't overeat. 4.Drink plenty of water. Take your meal regularly and timely. Avoid fasting, Don’t skip your breakfast. 5. Stop smoking, consumption of alcohol and tobacco, excess tea or coffee if you are having, 7. Avoid stress 8. Take one tablet of pan40 in the morning before breakfast daily for few days 9 Consult for further advice

Few tips on diet say no to maida items like toast, khaari, naan, white bread. Can drink tea but with limited sugar say no to buffalo milk and can drink cows milk can eat brown bread can eat sprout's can eat green vegetables, can eat chappati, bajra ka rotla can eat one katori of rice twice a day with dal to avoid farsan food items can eat fruits say no to coconut water.

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation,yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress,take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. GARLIC,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Ecosprin gold-10 at night daily.

U have to follow strictly the following 1. No alcohol 2. No smoking 3 diet- a. No ghee / butter, take small quantity of mix of veg oil- mustard, til, ground nut olive oil b. No sugar, no potato, no rice c. Take green leafy vegetables. Fruits like guava, anar, water melon papaya d. Avoid constipation - take syp lactulose 3 spoon at night if required e. Take plenty of water during day and take 2/3 glasses of warm water first thing in the morning even before rinsing your mouth f. No tea /coffee 4. Physical activity- minimum 30 mts brisk walk in the morning 5.6- 8 hrs of sound sleep at night 6. Deep breathing exercise for 10 mts daily 7. Meditation for min 10 mts daily 8.
