I am a 22 year old male. I hve been having nexito forte tablet for last 2 years for my anxiety disorder. Now I am fine but when I try to get rid of the medicine. The symptoms comes back. How to get rid of this medicine? Is it in anyway would be affecting my career? I am also addicted to excessive masturbation. Is it the reason for my low serotonin level. Is it the reason behind my insomnia.

Dear lybrate-user, if you are better with nexito forte, why do you want to stop. With the symptoms your quality of life will be less and your career may be affected. So I would advise you to continue the drug and consult your doctor again. If the doctor offers some form of talk therapy like cbt (cognitive behaviour therapy), probably you may be able to stop drugs without getting back symptoms. But cbt itself may take many session and will go on for 5-6 months weekly sessions. Both nexito and cbt will reduce your symptoms and you can plan for better career. By themselves it will not affect your career. Masturbation will not lower serotonin level or insomnia. But guilt of masturbation can cause. So you should get rid of guilt. Again nexito and cbt will help in getting rid of guilt.

Please advise for life time recovery I also walking, cycling, seeming and yoga pl also advise for reproduction of dopamine thanks sir

DM - Neurology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS
Neurologist, Noida
There is no known medication which can lead to life time recovery in Parkinson disease. Syndopa is not a pain killer, it only replaces dopa in body which is deficient in patients of Parkinson disease. Long term usage of syndopa can lead to certain expected side effects and in that case you need to consult your neurologist so that dose of medication can be modified. Yes, cycling, walking and yoga will be helpful for your disease and it is advisable that you should continue with same.

My daughter is taking eptoin 50 mg from last year but still seizures occurred now doctor changed to valproate. Does this medicine have side effects on health?

Internal Medicine Specialist, Ajmer
All antiepileptic medicines have side effects and there is no benefit of giving medicine which is not able to control the disease, so switching over to the other is good.

My body gets tired often and also my hands are shivering. Can you prescribe some medicines.

MSc

Hi, lack of energy could be owing to a host of reasons--nutrient deficiencies, sporadic sleep cycles, under-eating and subsequently overeating, dehydration, skipping breakfast to name only a few reasons. To regain energy, ensure you drink ample water through the day and that your meals are wholesome and complete and that your daily diet includes fruits and fresh vegetables. Hope this helps.

Dear Dr. I have continuous snoring and insomnia during my sleep and I feel more sedative when I wake up in the morning. Can you please guide me how to recover from this.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Clear nasal passages. If you have a stuffy nose, rinse sinuses with saline before bed. Using a Neti pot, nasal decongestant, or nasal strips can also help you breathe more easily while sleeping. If you have allergies, reduce dust mites and pet dander in your bedroom or use an allergy medication. Keep bedroom air moist. Dry air can irritate membranes in the nose and throat, so if swollen nasal tissues are the problem, a humidifier may help. Change your sleeping position. Elevating your head four inches may ease breathing and encourage your tongue and jaw to move forward. There are specially designed pillows available to help prevent snoring by making sure your neck muscles are not crimped. Sleep on your side instead of your back.

What are symptoms of insomnia? How to get rid of it? Please help What are main causes of it?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Insomnia is a sleep disorder that is characterized by difficulty falling and/or staying asleep. People with insomnia have one or more of the following symptoms: Difficulty falling asleep Waking up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep Waking up too early in the morning Feeling tired upon waking There are two types of insomnia: primary insomnia and secondary insomnia. Primary insomnia: Primary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems that are not directly associated with any other health condition or problem. Secondary insomnia: Secondary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems because of something else, such as a health condition (like asthma, depression, arthritis, cancer, or heartburn); pain; medication they are taking; or a substance they are using (like alcohol). Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety. In children and teens, sleep also helps support growth and development. The damage from sleep deficiency can occur in an instant (such as a car crash), or it can harm you over time. For example, ongoing sleep deficiency can raise your risk for some chronic health problems. It also can affect how well you think, react, work, learn, and get along with others. Management: Here are five tips everyone can use to help improve the quality of their sleep: Keep your bedroom cool and dark Put away/turn off all electronic devices while preparing for bedtime Stick to a regular bedtime and wake time every day, even on weekends Stop drinking caffeine by the early afternoon and avoid large late-night meals Skip the late-afternoon nap, as it can make it harder to sleep at bedtime Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Do regular exercise. Go for a brisk walk in the morning. Medication: Take Schwabe's Bacopa Monierri 1x/ thrice daily and Kali Phos./ once daily at night for 1month.

I have migraine, what prescription should I follow. I have been facing this from last 7 years and getting worst some times.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Self-care measures can help ease the pain of a migraine headache. Try muscle relaxation exercises. Relaxation techniques may include progressive muscle relaxation, meditation or yoga. Get enough sleep, but don't oversleep. Get an adequate amount of sleep each night. It's best to go to bed and wake up at regular times, as well. If possible, rest in a dark, quiet room when you feel a headache coming on. Place an ice pack wrapped in a cloth on the back of your neck and apply gentle pressure to painful areas on your scalp. Medication: Take Bakson's Mig Aid tablet/ 1 tablet 3 times a day.

Hi lybrate-user. This problem is due to irritation and inadequate nutrition of the brain. So follow few basic things …. 1) drink only 100-150 ml of water during meals …. 2) don’t drink water one hour before meals and one hour after meal… 3) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast, fermented and stale foods… 4) avoid coffee and tea… 5) try to sleep upto 10.30 pm … 6) do anuloma viloma pranayam regularly early in the morning… A) eat 30-40 black currants and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals… B) take 250 ml of fresh butter milk during meals. C) instill 3-4 drops of CHANDANADI TAILA in each nostril at the time of sleeping…… Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you good result. Consult to me for further suggestions. THANKS.
