Please cover the ears during ascent and descent of flight if the trip is necessary, better if it can be avoided till the baby is at least 6 wks of age.

One cannot lose 10 kgs in 1 month even if you are starving. One can lose maximum of 3-5 kgs depending on how obese the body is. Your height and weight looks perfect. But yes you may have some body fat which you can lose by 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Dear lybrate-user. It would be very difficult to explain the things to you in few lines. All that I can say is that there is no medicine to improve kidney function. The aim of all the treatment is to preserve what ever kidney function is left so please keep a proper follow up with your doctor. Thanks.

Better to screen for bronchitis or asthma --> wait for 3 more days and then also doesn't reduce then get" peak flow metry" done at pediatrician's clinic and know the response of bronchodilator medicines in form of nebulisation, I think it would cure the problem. But has to assessed by a certified pediatrician not by your own.

Low tone of muscles may cause such delay in development. It is essential to know cause of hypotonia. If it is due to nutritional deficiency, it can be managed and child may have normal life but need early intervention. Even then it is advisable to consult pediatrician.

Dear Doctor,                       I am the mother of baby girl of one and half month.. We came to know that she is having one hole of 0.53 cm perimembranous and one more hole of 0.29 cm ASD at her age of 25 days.                       Our paediatrician suggested no treatment at this time and she will be kept under observation for 2 years and echocardiography for every 6 months once.  Mostly holes may close by their own.                      Now she is of 3.7kg. Feeding is in normal way and she is active also.            But we are really worried about this condition.  Whether her condition is very severe?  Whether holes close by their own?

This is a common problem in newborn babies, generally all babies have holes before birth which close either at the time of birth or few hours after birth. This is a physiological phenomenon. In some babies this phenomenon gets delayed for may be few days and months. As per your paediatrician its correct to wait and watch, I hope its not a major issue, if it was a major issue your baby would have breathing problems at birth or later. Since baby is doing well you need not worry! just get repeat echo done as per your doctors order. No need to panic!

Breast milk is the most important and best nutrition you can give to your baby. Breast milk secretion and excretion is controlled by a complex neuro hormonal mechanism. A relaxed and confident brain is all that you need for adequate milk production. During hot summer months take a glass of water before feeding and have a balanced and nutritious diet. If your baby is passing urine regularly and gaining weight then he or she must be getting enough milk.

I am 33 years. I have given birth to a girl baby on december 30th with normal delivery. Still i am not able to feed my daughter with breast milk. I have tried all the steps to increase molk supply but not able to produce milk. Could anyone help me with this?

MBBS, Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Pediatric Gastroenterology
Pediatrician, Delhi
Young Mothers always think that their milk is not sufficient. Don't be disheartened. The more you feed , the better will be the supply of breast milk. Drink a lot of water, eat nourishing food and continue taking iron and calcium supplements. If the baby is passing urine frequently and stool normally and gaing weight nicely, you can be sure that you are producing enough milk.

COBALATION IN ENT - A NEW TECHNIQUE BLODLESS SURGERY OF TONSILS ADENOIDS VIA COBALATION

MBBS, MS - ENT, DNB (ENT)
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Delhi
COBALATION IN ENT - A NEW TECHNIQUE BLODLESS SURGERY OF TONSILS ADENOIDS VIA COBALATION

What is coblation tonsillectomy?
Coblation is an advanced technology that uses gentle radio frequency energy with a saline solution to quickly and safely remove tonsils without causing much pain & no bleeding.

How is cobalation tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy done?
This surgery is done under general anaesthesia generally takes about 30 min. The surgeon uses a special cobalation wand which utlizes radio frequency energy to remove tonsil adenoids in a nearly bloodless fashion the patient can go home the same day.

Why is coblation tonsillectomy a better choice?
Older ways of removing the tonsils and adenoids include cold steel method of dissection. These methods could cause extensive pain, bleeding and may damage healthy tissue around the tissue that is removed. Coblation does not remove the tonsils or adenoids by heating or burning preserving healthy surrounding tissue.

What are the benefits of coblation tonsillectomy?
Fewer'bad days patients report a better overall experience with coblation tonsillectomy after surgery when compared to other procedures. Studies show that patient calls and visits to the doctor due to problems after surgery are significantly less with coblation tonsillectomy.
Faster recovery coblation tonsillectomy has been shown in clinical studies to speed a child's return to normal activity and diet. On average, patients return to a normal diet in 2.4 days after coblation, versus 7.6 days after routine cold steel method.

Less pain coblation tonsillectomy has also been shown to decrease pain and use of medications after the procedure.

Adenoidectomy via cobalation
Indications
Difficulty in breathing
Snoring
Obstructive sleep apnea
Rec episodes of cough old

Coblation adenoidectomy is a technique which works at a relatively low temperature to gently dissolve and/or shrink target tissue with minimal thermal damage to surrounding healthy tissue. Coblation technology provides ablation, resection, coagulation of soft tissue and hemostasis of blood vessels in one convenient surgical device.

Advantages
Complete removal of adenoids
No bleeding
Under direct endoscopic vision
No recurrence
Minimal pain with day care procedure
Faster recovery.
