This is a general strain due to excessive walking or standing and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes. One time you can do hot water fermentation that would help to reduce the muscle strain.

May be due to strain during long sitting tk muscle relaxant medicine and heat fermentation twice a day soft pillow for back support avoid long sitting take break between work do walk and spine extension exercise if it work then ok otherwise take physiotherapy treatment.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Backache is the commonest ailment. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore, lest it becomes starting point of a major problem.

I don't think fracture in hand has anything to do for growth in height. You require highly nutritios food like green vegetbles, fruits milk or energy drinks nad proteins in the form of eggs and fish Talk to the doctor who treated you for the fracture reg undertaking exercise like Gym, Weights, Outdoor games etc

Hello Lybrate user As you mentioned here symptoms are related to cervical or neck pain but it depends upon dermatomes/myotomes involved. Take hot formentation daily. If possible he can take regular Physiotherapy treatment for fifteen days after treatment physiotherapist will guide him for daily Home base proper exercises programme. Exercises will improve strength of muscles. Exercises must be with advice of qualified and experienced physiotherapist only.

First of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels as this may not be due to your back pain. Whenever you do breathing in and out you will feel pain in the upper back, middle back and also the pain will radiate upwards until the shoulder and also up to the chest. You might feel chest congestion and tightness and that be due to gastric trouble. Kindly do breathing exercises which might help you to get reduced with pain in the back and shoulder. Drink hot water to reduce the gastric trouble. Kindly consult gastroenterologist if you doesn’t improve.

I have joint pain and also ankle and neck pain. Please consult me something to resolve it.
Try some remedies for joint pain: -ice packs can be used to soothe hot, swollen joints. -heat packs help to relax tense, tired muscles. -splinting of swollen or painful joints may be helpful, a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist (ot) may provide temporary splints for you. -pace yourself: overdoing things can increase your pain, but so can not doing enough. Your physiotherapist can advise you on increasing your activity level at a rate you can cope with and on finding the right balance between rest and activity. -take regular graded exercise: graded exercise starts slowly and increases in small steps. This will help you to strengthen your muscles and joints and increase your fitness. Improving your general fitness and stamina will help you to increase your activity level without increasing your pain. -mobilising, stretching and strengthening: your physiotherapist will assess your muscle strength and the range of movement in your joints, and advise on techniques and exercises so you can keep your joints working as well as possible. 1. Apply elastic crepe bandage to ankle joint 2. Keep lime in elevated position 3. Ice therapy for 30 mins 4. You can use any ointment 5. Rest for 3 days 6. X ray of ankle joint if not subside with above treatment take care.

I am a 44 year old working woman, from few days I am feeling tight stiffness in the back portion of neck near madula, I am also feeling pain in the shoulder, upper back and surrounding area. What should I do ?

It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you will need other supportive medicines also. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Dear doctor, I met an accident and fractured occurred in right leg on 29th Dec 2014. As per the X ray report it is “fracture lateral malleolus right(closed) with fracture 2nd and 3rd metatarsal(closed)”. Initially,the doctor thought for surgery for ankle injury but another senior Orthopedic surgeon of the same hospital after examining the X ray plate, put a POP BACK Slab for 15 days and as per his version chance of displacement was there. On 13th Jan 2015, another X ray was done and the doctor surgeon wrote in the prescription ” X ray shows good alignment, no displacement”. On the same day synthetic casting was put in place of POP Back slab and I have been told to meet him after one month. I was allowed to walk with two elbow supported crutches without giving any load to the right leg. Now I am off from my office since more than one month.Although I am obeying all the instructions given by the doctor, i am feeling some pain on the ankle fracture occasionally. Pain is like needle pushing and some sorts of inflammation but tolerable. No swelling is there at present.Rarely I feel tolerable pain on metatarsal fractures. Is this pain normal ? Can I join my office using crutches now ? when i can walk on my feet? How many days it will take further to drive car ? Please note that I am now 49yrs, wt-74kgs normal built, no BP and diabetes. Hello, I am Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. I have gone through your case summary. Your injury was on 29th December and it is 2nd Feb today. Since cast was applied on 13th Jan it is also 3 weeks since then. If it is an undisplaced fracture then management is ok. We need to get sequential X Rays to look for any displacement because as the swelling subsides fracture can get displaced because there is looseness in cast. Anyway since conservative management is chosen i would like to have a look at you recent X Rays before giving my verdict. I recently got lumbar herniated disc problem & as per doctor's advice took bed rest for 3 days and did not play or go to gym for 10 days. After 10 days can I go back to gym or play badminton or should I continue taking rest. Currently I am not experiencing any pain and I am avoiding bending forward.
