Whenever you want to discontinue medication, have a consultation with your treating doctor who knows all your records. It is not gonna give you big deal, when discontinuing, the symptoms which settled with that 15 days of duration restarts again and continuing medications further will take longer time for the symptoms to get settled. Do not forget to have opinion from your treating doctor.

Dear lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. Nicotine and other chemicals can cause cancer of different types and areas. Throat cancer, mouth cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer and brain problems can result. Over and above smoking may also increase the risk factor of heart attack and brain stroke. Please quit smoking. Take care.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Guests can be accommodated upto an extent. Beyond that it is always stressful. I suggest you to talk to your husband. Do not start quarrelling. Be patient. He will understand. Do not say anything about his sister. Just appraisal about the difficulties in a reasonable manner should work. Take care.

Hi, individual treatment for kidney stones depends on the type of kidney stones that are formed. Firstly, staying well hydrated by drinking enough water is one of the best measures you can take to avoid kidney stones. To lessen your risk of forming a new stone, it is very important that you drink at least three quarts (12 cups) of fluid throughout the day. In hotter weather, you may need to drink more to make up for fluid loss from sweating. This will help keep your urine less concentrated. Less concentrated urine reduces the risk of stone formation. Most of the fluid you drink should be water. Try to drink a glass of water before bed and if you wake during the night to use the bathroom, drink another glass before going back to bed. There are two kinds of stone oxalate stone and calcium stone and treatment is different based on that. Other than this the combination of lemon juice and olive oil is traditionally used as a home remedy to expel gallbladder stones but it can also be used to treat kidney stones. The citric acid present in lemons helps break down calcium-based kidney stones and stops further growth. Take four tablespoons or a quarter cup of fresh lemon juice. Add an equal amount of olive oil. Drink this mixture followed by plenty of water. Do this two to three times a day, up to three days. You need not continue this remedy if you pass the stones in a single dose. Warning: this remedy may not be suitable for passing large kidney stones. Make sure you consult a doctor before taking this remedy. You should look for varieties that are low in sugar, or make your own. Lemons, limes, and cranberries are very high in citric acid, which helps prevent crystals from increasing in size and becoming new kidney stones. Avoid dark beers. These contain oxalates, which can contribute to future kidney stones. Take medication if suggested by doctor and follow the above along with that. For medication for alcohol consult a psychiatrist and get proper treatment done. All the best.

Suffering from depression -----------kindly give me guidance to come out of this. Thanks.
Hello Lybrate User. Depression is a complicated, multifaceted condition. The general scientific consensus is that it is a biologically-based illness, although there is still some debate over this. For the purposes of this question, I'll assume that you're referring to the illness of major depression, and not just to a transient low mood, or to what most people feel when they say "Oh, I feel depressed. There are a few important things you can do if you want to join the fight against their illness: Offer your support through tangible expressions of friendship and empathy. Don't just say "Oh that sounds so tough" or "I'm so sorry, I'm here for you. But ask them how they're sleeping. What they think about when they feel their worst. Call them often, even when they don't pick up or have short answers. Be tenacious. Don't give up in your efforts to reach out. It's almost impossible to reach out to a depressed person too frequently, if you're already close with them. They likely won't be in the mood to proactively contact you, and may not seem like they appreciate your actions, but remember, they're suffering from an illness. Try to keep them active, even if they refuse activities and outings. As above, just keep at it, keep asking, keep suggesting, don't ever give up. Suggest therapy, suggest medication, talk with them about how they're dealing with both and what issues are coming up.

Loss of interest, decreased concentration and attention, feeling low and disturbed sleep or appetite are some of the signs of depression. Consult a psychiatrist who will assess you in detail. If you are feeling suicidal or hopeless, seek professional help immediately. Try some relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation and deep breathing. Indulge in hobbies. Spend time with people close to you.

Sir I want to commit suicide. Which is the easiest way to do so without harming my life.

Masters in Clinical Psychology
Psychologist, Lucknow
Hi lybrate-user, I can't even understand your state of mind while you saying this, you must be going through a lot. You are asking this question on a platform where we all are health professionals trying to help you to live healthily. So, obviously none of us will guide you with that. Infact no one should guide you with that. May be your worries and tension seem to be never ending right now, but nothing is impossible. I am sure there are people around you who know your worth and would be too hurt if you did any of harmful acts. Sanny, you can be perfectly fine if you seek treatment. Talk to me about what bothers you, what has brought you to this stage? why are you giving up. We all will make sure to deal with your difficulties together. Its easy to end, be a fighter as you know suicide does not take away the pain it only gives it to some one else. Consult immediately.
