I am suffering from dry cough from last 5 days. How to get relief from this problem and what medicine to use?

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Please take Bryonia 200 – once daily for next 3-4 days. Drink plenty of warm fluids. Drinking warm fluids helps to loosen the secretions in your sinuses so that your mucus flows more freely, making you feel better faster. Studies show that drinking warm fluids relieves cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and fatigue.

I have itching in neck I do not know if it is tonsil or ulcer. How to identify? Please give some weight loss tips in addition. Thanks in advance.

Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
Hi firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.

I am a 25yr old male, I suffer sinusitis often. I take medications too but only for a while it subsides. Advice me best doctor and medication.

DAA, DNB
Pulmonologist, Bangalore
Hi. I understand your concerns. Sinusitis can also be due to allergy. Best treatment option being steam inhalation and saline nasal douches. You will benefit from intranasal corticosteroids and anti allergy medicine if it is allergic. Consult a pulmonologist /allergist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.

Symptoms of Tuberculosis

MD PULMONARY, DTCD
Pulmonologist, Faridabad
Symptoms of Tuberculosis

The symptoms of tuberculosis (TB), which is active might vary and depend on which part of the body is infected. Diagnosing TB just from its symptoms can be a difficult, as the symptoms are not for TB alone meaning the symptoms can be of other diseases as well. For the confirmation and diagnosis of TB one must get a test done for TB. However, the general symptoms of TB are tiredness, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, fever, chills and night sweats.

  • Symptoms of Pulmonary TB: Pulmonary TB is the TB of lungs. The symptoms of this are bad cough, which might have lasted for more than 3 weeks, chest pain, blood or phlegm might occur on coughing.
  • Extrapulmonary TB: The TB of any body part other than pulmonary is called extrapulmonary TB. This type of TB does not affect the lungs with the exception being the extrapulmonary TB also known as Pleural TB. General symptoms of Extrapulmonary TB are same as general symptoms of Pulmonary TB.
  • Symptoms of Lymph Node TB: Lymph Node TB also known as lymphadenitis is basically the enlargement and the inflammation of the lymph nodes. This is a response to the infections especially in children. The symptoms of this might be painless slow growing lymph nodes. These swollen lymph nodes can be in the neck area, though they might also be present in the groin. Lymph node TB of the neck is also called as Scrofula or TB adenitis.
  • Symptoms of skeletal (bone and joint) TB: The common and the first symptoms are pain and depend on the area of the joint or the bone affected. Often it is marked with the loss of movement and curving of the affected bones and joints. The affected area also weakens and is prone to fractures.
  • Spinal TB is also called as Pott Disease or TB Spondylitis: The symptoms of this depend on the affected site and the stage of the disease. However, back pain is one of the earliest symptoms.
  • Symptoms of Meningitis TB: The meningitis TB starts with classical symptoms of meningitis. It usually starts with symptoms of pains and aches, fever and vague and unwell feeling. These might last for 2-8 weeks and then the evident symptoms like headaches, seizures, vomiting and stiffness might occur.
  • Symptoms of Gastrointestinal or Abdominal TB: This is marked with diarrhea, abdominal pain and bleeding from rectum and anus, though the symptoms depend on the exact site.
  • Symptoms of TB in children: The symptoms depend on the type and site, though the common ones being weight loss, fever and cough.

I have had 8 fainting episodes this year. This is a new problem as I haven't fainted before November of last year. I'm convinced that these are not panic attacks and witnesses to these attacks have noted that I am remarkably calm beforehand. A couple of these attacks happened while I was lying down watching Netflix at home and one happened directly after a light jog in the which my pulse rose to a point that my friend a former combat medic was unable to count it and my Fitbit reported that it was around 210bpm. My friend also noted that my breathing seemed labored and that my skin was ashen. I have had countless ekgs, a stress test, tilt table test, echocardiogram, routine blood and urine analysis, a head MRI, a zio patch (no episodes), and an eeg which all came back normal. I'm really quiet terrified about all this and am wondering what people might think it is? And why they would or would not suspect a cardiac cause for the syncope episodes? What they would recommend as future steps and weather it would be wise to stop investigation. Also of similar note due to a cold I am becoming short of breath easily which accelerates my heart rate to 150bpm resting 180 walking to and from class, is this something to fret about?

Hello Usually, Cyncop causes due to underlying conditions: spondylitis, hypoglycemia, gastric disorder. Cardiac disorder, specially aortic stenosis, hypopressure. In so many condiction I have noticed cyncop in gastric disorder with resemblenice of cardiac disorder with arrhythmia. Since, all the vital test of yours ,related to cardiac function are normal, I am of the opinion that you are suffering from gastric disorder which might raise your BP with laboured breathing, even cold perspiration may appear with arrhythmia. You should go for meditation to reduce your stress in order to inhale plenty of oxygen in òrder to nourish brain to counter cyncop. To hydrate your body you should tk plenty of water to restore metabolic action ,preventing constipation. Your diet be simple, non irritant to avoid gastric disorder. Tk homoeopathic medicines @ Carbo veg 200-6 pills thrice. Report fortnightly, please. Your feed back is solicited for further follow-up, please. Tk. Care. In all the cases you should be punctual in life towards dietary regulationeeds avoiding stress, anxiety.

The best way is to visit nearest hospital and get yourself checked by ent surgeon for any vestibular problem and a cardiologist for any htn etc. There is possibility of cds also to be excluded by orthopaedician. If you go any vaidya, you may be treated for vatavyadhi. All these symptoms are covered under vatavyadhi.

We are not very sure. However for asthma for asthma problem you can do deep breathing exercies which will definitely be helpful for you. And also do breathing exercises in the east corner of the house where you get more energy as it is in the sun rising side.

Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then I will prescribe appropriate meds based on your detailed assessment. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.
