Acne can cause red or brown discoloration and uneven skin contour. Usually multiple types of treatments are needed for maximum improvement. Patience is key since the full effect is often not seen for several months. Skin discoloration and texture can be improved with topical treatments like hydroquinone and Retin-A, but for deeper scars and more significant discoloration, other techniques are needed. You can consult on private chat with clinical photographs for treatment prescription.

Swollen Red Bumps On Skin - Can It Be A Sign Of Rosacea?

MD - Dermatology , Fellowship in Hair Transplant
Dermatologist, Nashik
Swollen Red Bumps On Skin - Can It Be A Sign Of Rosacea?

Primarily common among middle-aged women, rosacea is a disorder which is characterized by redness and pus-filled bumps and blisters on the chin, cheeks and the forehead. As time progresses, these red bumps can get aggravated and result in other complications. It may also affect other parts of the body such as the back, neck and the chest. If the eyes are affected, then they might appear to be watery and bloodshot. It can also lead to formation of bumps and pimples on the face.

Causes
The exact cause of rosacea has not yet been ascertained. However, certain factors have been known to act as catalysts in the development of this disorder, such as problems of the blood vessels. It may also be caused by fungus and microscopic skin mites. Though more research needs to go into it, but psychological factors are often considered to be important reasons behind this disorder. Some other risk factors of rosacea are:

  • Gender: It is more common among women
  • Complexion: People with fairer skin are at a higher risk

Symptoms
The symptoms of this disorder can vary among individuals, but they all share a few common symptoms. The major symptoms of this disorder are:

  1. Bumps and pimples: Similar to pimples, pus filled bumps and pimples are a few common symptoms.
  2. Flushing: A flushed face or a face that appears reddish is one of the most common symptoms indicative of rosacea.
  3. Visible blood vessels: The blood vessels on the face tend to become visible.
  4. Thickening of the skin: The skin tends to thicken and enlarge, caused by the presence of excessive tissue.
  5. Stinging and burning: One may experience burning sensations and inflammation on the face.

Treatment
There are two primary methods of treatment and the required type is decided upon after a through diagnosis of the symptoms. They are-

  1. Medications: Topical and oral medications can be administered to treat symptoms of pimples, bumps and the reddish hue on the face. Medications help you manage the symptoms and prevent them from aggravating or resurfacing.
  2. Surgical procedures: Surgical procedures for rosacea are aimed at reducing the excessive facial redness, remedying blood vessels that are visible and correct other deformities if required.

There are certain preventive measures that you can adopt, them being:
1. Avoid direct exposure to the sun
2. Don’t overdo your exercise sessions
3. Avoid eating spicy foods
4. Take steps to minimize your stress levels. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Psoriasis is genetic disorder triggered due to stressful conditions and irregular life style. Scalp psoriasis is a disease which should be treated in initial stages to prevent the disease to spread to other parts of body including joints and nails. On using various lotions and shampoos available in the market there is healing but disease reoccurs after some time. The internal ayurvedic medicines help in providing blood purification and oil we provide helps to prevent reoccurrence. Curcumine (Haldi) is also helpful to prevent reoccurrence. For detailed queries like: 1. Causes of psoriasis 2. Is it genetic or can it spread to next generation 3. Causes of spread of disease after it remains stable for some years 4. Should we use Homeopathy, Allopathy or Ayurveda. You can send pictures of the affected area. After reviewing the case individually, will guide you about the best possible treatment and time frame.

Hi Shana. Here are some of the most common causes of true under-eye circles. 1. Allergies 2. Atopic dermatitis (eczema) 3. Contact dermatitis 4. Fatigue 5. Heredity — dark under-eye circles can run in families 6. Pigmentation irregularities — these are a particular concern for people of color, especially blacks and Asians 7. Rubbing or scratching your eyes 8. Sun exposure, which prompts your body to produce more melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color 9. Thinning skin and loss of fat and collagen — common as you age — can make the reddish-blue blood vessels under your eyes more obvious. Medication:- 1. Massage in a circular motion with Tavishi oil regulary twice a day. 2. Apply sumukha facepack regularly with honey. Tips:- 1. Get your beauty sleep. 2. Eat well. 3. Regularly undergo meditation and perform exercise.
