My left hand getting pain again and again when I Will try to speed up of walk. I am a heart patient also. My ecg is not good.please help

PGD Maternal Child Health, MBBS
General Physician, Akola
The pain in left arm or hand while walking or exercising is a sign of poor blood supply to the heart. As you have already stated that your ecg is not good and you are a heart patient, you should investigate further by doing an angiography to ascertain the state of coronary blood flow. If there is any serious block in the coronaries then you need to undergo treatments like angioplasty. Do not neglect and keep in contact with your physician.

high cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

When I stand up my blood rise to 180/90. And we I sit my blood drop to 130/78. But my heart rate get high sometime without work up my self. Heart rate at 120.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Your heart beat is faster, do let us know whether it is resting or after exercise. If heart beat is high without workout, do get thyroid profile checked. Bp has a range and your upper limit is higher at 180/90. This too can be due to high function of thyroid hormone. Do get back after monitor of pulse and bp for a week plus reports of thyroid profile.

Iam 25 years old. What is essential hypertension and it's causes and effects and it's range.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, essential hypertension (also called primary hypertension or idiopathic hypertension) is the form of hypertension that by definition has no identifiable cause. It is the most common type of hypertension, affecting 95% of hypertensive patients, it tends to be familial and is likely to be the consequence of an interaction between environmental and genetic factors. Prevalence of essential hypertension increases with age, and individuals with relatively high blood pressure at younger ages are at increased risk for the subsequent development of hypertension. Hypertension can increase the risk of cerebral, cardiac, and renal events. High blood pressure has many risk factors, including: age race family history being overweight or obese not being physically active using tobacco use of too much of salt in o little potassium in diet too little vitamin d drinking too much alcohol stress certain chronic conditions also may increase your risk of high blood pressure, such as kidney disease, diabetes and sleep apnea. What is the symptoms of Peri-Menopause stage? I get heart palpitation during night times. Feeling depressed. How to control them.

MBBS
General Physician, Malappuram
Heart Palpitations May Get Their Start in Perimenopause While there are no hard statistics on how many menopausal women experience heart palpitations, Portman estimates that 25 to 40 percent of women going through menopause will develop them. They tend to be even more common in women going throughperimenopause, the four years or so preceding menopause. “That’s when hormones seem to fluctuate the most,” Portman says. However, it’s unclear whether the hormonal changes that come with menopause are directly related to the development of heart palpitations. Portman says studies have shown that epinephrine and norepinephrine, the neurotransmitters that regulate heart rate and blood pressure, tend to fluctuate in menopausal women. These neurotransmitters might one day be a target for specific treatment of heart palpitations associated with menopause.

Being In Love Will Lead You To A Healthy Heart And Life

Love:It does make the world go round. With millions of songs and movies that have this emotion in its center, can it really be any other way? From early life, love acts as a security blanket from our parents, a growing up adventure with siblings and an out of the world experience with pets. When you learn to care and love, it becomes a life habit that helps you find happiness in all situations.

In several Harvard studies over the years on finding the 'secret of happiness'and the connection between happiness, health, and love, one common undisputed fact emerged that love and good relationships keep you healthier and happier. There really is no medicine like having someone to love and share a life with. Note that you need these reasons for being in love but it is great to know them any way.

  1. The heart and love connection: Our heart has been connected with the emotion of love for so many reasons. Historically, the heart was thought to be the seat to thinking, emotions and memories. It beating extra hard during excitement and love gave an automatic connection to the two. This popular notion continued to take center stage even after it was scientifically proven that the heart only pumped blood while the brain took up other functionalities. The association remains strong until date where the beating heart as a life source is associate with love - which makes life a happy place.
  2. Love can boost your immune system: A research by Ronald Glazer and Jan Kiecolt-Glaser suggested that couples who engaged in positive conflict resolution had a higher functioning immune system than those who didn't. Which means, if you get into an argument, you need to play fair and play nice. Couples who argued and stonewalled showed a larger decline in their immediate immune system functioning. Some connection!
  3. Love more, live longer: According to a 2004 study by the CDC, married couples had the lowest mortality rates. Generally speaking, people who are in committed, loving relationships experience less stress which translates to improved heart health. Happy and loving relationships also coax us into giving up risky behaviours like smoking, especially when you want to raise a family. This in turn propels a healthy lifestyle.
  4. It can reduce your pain: Pain is a feeling when we are physically harmed internally or externally and its intensity is controlled by our brain. But the heart plays an equally important role in its intensity - i.e. reducing it. If you hold the hand of the person you love, it can minimize your feelings of pain. No wonder then that women in labor hold their husband's hand to tide through the pain!
  5. Love can keep your heart happy: Love increases the feeling of bliss and elevates you into a different sphere of optimism, energy and sense of well being - all of which go into keeping your heart healthy.
