This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back.

Advice…. Hot Fomentation x twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction. Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily Bhujang Asana x 15 timesx twice daily Core Strengthening Exercises. Back Stretching.

My Mom had a Wrist fracture it has been 6months , she is 63years and her hand is still swelling and cannot bent her fingers completely , She goes for physiotherapy but didn't help , Kindly advise

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Spondilysis is a big problem. You can take a homoeo medicine - 1- rhus- tox 1000, 5 drops in little water fortnightly. 2- bryonia 30, 5 drops in little water, thrice daily. 3- mag- phos 6x, 5 tab. 1-1 hrly, 8 times daily. These medicine take regularly for one month.

Prescription- x-ray both knee joints. Take hot therapy by water and ice pack apply over varicose vein area. Do some exercises like- take towel and roll it. Then put the towel roll under the knee joint area and press the roll and hold for 10 seconds. This cycle repeate 15-15 times both legs. Avoid long sitting long standing. Walk for 15 minutes per twice a day and exercises also do twice.

Dear lybrate user, I am surprised that why you did not take the treatment at the time of fracture. You may apply at present arnica q ruta q mixed in equal qty. Thrice a day. Also take ruta 10 m five drops on your tounge direct thrice a day only. One dz. Of arnica 30 five drops in the morning you should take with water for three day.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Ok start physiotherapy treatment and come out your problem. A checkup of vit d and calcium levels. After relief start stretching exercise in daily routine avoid long sitting and toward bending.

1 year ago I met with accident and my cervical pr collar bone total broken. So doctors suggest me. For surgery. And dotted the broken bone with titanium plate. And also I have hair line fracture in my right foot. So I want to know is I am able to gym right know. The plate is still attached. So suggest me. Some tips. Or suggestions what kind of things I do. 1 year is a good enough time for fracture to heal. Get repeat xrays. If the xray looks normal then you can go ahead with gym. In 1 year fractures should heal 100% so there is no medication for it to heal now. You need to do exercises but only after the xray confirms it's healed.

For cold and cough, you need proper care. Avoid cold exposure. Cover yourself properly in this cold weather. Avoid having anything cold, food or any beverage. If the problem persists, you will require medicines. For knee pain, you need physiotherapy, cover your knees so that it remains warm. For dizziness, take healthy food. You may require multi vitamins.
