Now a days I am very depressed and in tension because of my studies. What should I do for studying with a free mind.

Now a days I am very depressed and in tension because of my studies. What should I do for studying with a free mind.
Dear lybrate user... You are allowing the stress to overpower your ability to study. In this context I would suggest you to divide your study material in such a way that you keep only 2 hours a day for the first week. Gradually increase it to 3 hours a day the next week and go on increasing it every week, till you feel that its the optimal time to study a day. What mistake we usually make is that when we start we start with a high expectation with ourselves and thus we try to study 8 to 10 hours a day from the beginning. But actually what happens is that we study for 8 to 10 hours on 1st day and may be the 2nd day, but then we start loosing concentration and we read less than 8 on 3rd. Once we lag behind we start to ponder as to how we are going to finish on time and then we loose hopes. So as to avoid this I would suggest you to start slow and then gradually increase the time of study so as to let yourself adapt to the study time.Do not look at the syllabus and ponder as to how much is left, rather just divide what you have to study in a week and go start it without thinking as to how you will compete with others. Always during the study time you should keep rest other distractions off like online chats etc and in between the study time keep some fixed time for getting fresh air outside or listening music, whatever interests you. Have a healthy diet and never have it in a hurry. Always try not to ponder over things but rather to start with it as soon as possible. If you have any other query feel free to enquire. All the best to you.

Here was the lack of sleep due to any stress,& is continuous, or becoz of certain reason, you could nt get time to get sleep? the t/t depends on that. If its a complaint of sleeplessness since long, then, the drug suggestable varies from, if this is emporarily, due to work etc. Headache, etc all are due to the sleeplessness. Try to take belladonna[in homeo] for headache in 200 potency, 3 times /day, each time 6-8 pills, chewable. If you are still suffering, then you can ask further, with details. Walking in night& morning, or doing any regular exercises, practicing breathing exercises, paranayama, mediatation will help to releive the mind/stress, & will help to get good sleep. Try to maintain proper sleeping hrs, minimum 7-9 hrs/day. Take 1 glass of warm milk in night before going to bed. Do not use any gadget, system before going to bed, that too in dim light or dark room if its sleeplessness, then the t/t varies. So, you can revert me back, with feed back.

I am 64 yrs old 3 months ago I had blood coming out while brushing my teeth and was asked to get my teeth cleaned and prescribed qudrajel. It only gave temp relief and after a month it was re-precribed. But it has not helped and I continue to get blood while brushing. What to do?

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
There are so many causes of bleeding gums - - brushing too hard - a vitamin deficiency - taking blood thinners or other medications - bleeding or clotting disorders - mouth sores - other medical problems, including diabetes, heart disease, leukemia or scurvy. -few advice to stop bleeding gums-- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals.

How To Keep Your Skin Acne Free?

How To Keep Your Skin Acne Free?

Unhealthy eating habits, dust and pollution wreck a havoc to the skin and has become a major worry for many.

For many, skin problem is one of the most persistent problems and it is imperative to take care of skin to avoid skin disorders. Various factors, such as pollution, smoking, eating processed food and a sedentary lifestyle contribute to unhealthy skin.

Skin issues can be really stressful. But right skincare treatment can help in controlling a lot of problems. Just by sticking to 6 simple ways, you can keep your skin healthy:

  1. Sun protection: Constant exposure to sun rays can cause a host of skin problems, such as skin cancer, wrinkles and age spots. The main culprits are the ultraviolet rays of the sun, which can cause damage to the skin when it is exposed. Using sunscreen and protective clothing can help protect the skin against UV rays.

  2. Stress management: Stress can trigger the skin sensitivity, which causes it to be acne prone. Thus, managing stress is beneficial for maintaining a healthy skin.

  3. Smoking: Smoking narrows the blood vessels in the skin that deliver oxygen and nutrients. Hence, it should be avoided to limit these problems.

  4. Regular exercise and hydration: Regular cardio exercises, such as jogging and swimming, pump the blood that carry nutrients and oxygen to the skin. Exercise causes loss of water in the body, which needs to be replenished. Water keeps the skin healthy and prevents skin problems such as acne and dry skin.

  5. Collagen supplements: These collagen supplements, especially in peptide form, considerable reduces wrinkles and will keep your skin firm and resilient.

  6. Intake of antioxidants: Exposure to the sun, pollution and other environmental factors give rise to free radicals in the skin. These free radicals damage cells in the skin by oxidation. Foods rich in antioxidants are fruits and vegetables can limit the damage caused by free radicals. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

Smoking And Sexual Dysfunction

Smoking And Sexual Dysfunction

Smoking cigarettes and impotence

  • Erectile dysfunction (ed), also called impotence, can be caused by a wide range of physical and psychological factors.
  •  Among them is cigarette smoking.
  • It’s not surprising since smoking can damage your blood vessels, and ed is often a result of poor arterial blood supply to the penis. Fortunately, if you quit smoking, your vascular health is likely to improve, as well as your sexual health and performance.

Smoking and changes in blood vessels

You’ve probably heard a lot about the health risks of smoking. That’s because cigarette smoking can damage just about every part of your body. The chemicals in cigarette smoke injure the lining of your blood vessels and affect the way they function. Those chemicals can also harm your heart, brain, kidneys, and various other tissues throughout the body.

The risk of smoking to your erectile health is specifically due to the effects of cigarette chemicals on the blood vessels in the penis. An erection results when the arteries in the penis expand and fill with blood after receiving signals from nerves in the penis. The nerves are responding to sexual arousal signals from the brain. Even if the nervous system is operating at full strength, an erection might not be physically possible if the blood vessels are unhealthy due to smoking.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that maintaining a hormonal vibrancy and stamina is more so a matter of a healthy lifestyle. No amount of supplementation will work if your lifestyle, including your diet, exercise and stress is managed well. The following are some tips you can follow. Get enough sleep. Maintain a healthy weight. Stay active and exercise regularly. Avoid unwanted stress. Avoid simple sugars like excess of white sugar, maida and cornflour. Include foods like sweet potato, eggs, potato, sorghum, yoghurt, nuts like macadamia or Brazil or almonds, olive oil, coconut oil, clarified butter, oysters, raisins, mushrooms, avocado, custard apple, pomagranates, onions, parsley, garlic and ginger in your diet. Avoid alcohol and smoking.
