Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol for 5-7 days usually helps in such cases - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time.

Hip pain in your age is not normal. Does the pain go away with pain killers? please get an xray of your hip and see an orthopedic surgeon or send me the report. An mri scan of the hip will also help to find your problem accurately. Are you taking any medicines currently?

Uric acid is found in mostly in green leafy vegetables and whole cereals. If you have high uric acid than meet a dietician because uric acid has different diet chart. Totally change in diet so consult a dietician first. After all you can avoid whole cereal, high protein and green leafy vegetables.

I think you are already into the path of recovery.Admitting to addiction and then leaving this addiction at your age is not an easy job.It itself shows that you are determined in your life and wants to move forward in life.This time is very important to you and just hold your nerves and think in positive way.Be optimistic and follow below given steps in your life and forget about such addictions as these addictions will lead you into darkness------------------------------ 1.First of all try to enjoy or find enjoymnt in what you are doing because if we dont enjoy our work we will find excuses and moreover we will exhaut early. 2.Daily morning 15 minutes each ALOM VILOM PRANAYAAM and KAPAL BHATI PRANAYAM 3.Eat healthy/Balanced diet and avoid fried,junk and oily food,avoid overeating Balanced Diet= 60% Carbohydrates + 20% Fats + 20% Proteins (A)Carbohydrates: Our main source of energy. Stored in liver and muscles. Carbohydrates are used the most by our body duringexercise. Hence, it is important for people who exercise regularly to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates. (a) Instant/rapid carbohydrates energy sources: Banana, Milk, Sweets, Sugarcane juice. (b) Slow carbohydrates energy sources: Beans, Bread, Cereals, Potato, Pulses, Rice. (B) Proteins: Essential for growth, repair of muscle, skin, hair and body tissues. Protein deficiency leads to low immunity, hairfall, feeling of tiredness. Proteins are not stored in our body as any excess protein is converted to energy or fat. Hence, a person requires protein intake every day. When the body does not get enough carbohydrates to fuel itself, it falls back on protein bank. That is why people who follow starvation diets or go on fasting lose muscle tissue. (a) Major protein sources: Egg white(white portion), Milk, Soybeans/Soymilk, Fish, Cheese, Tofu. (b) Other protein sources: Beans with wheat, Nuts, Curd, Yogurt (Dahi). (C) Fats: Required and healthy when taken in small amounts. Excess fat leads to weight gain, increase in bad cholesterol (LDL) and heartproblems (a) Major fats sources: Egg yolk (Yellow portion), Avocados, Whole Milk, Butter, Cheese, Nuts. (b) Other fats sources: Corn, Vegetable/Olive oil, Biscuits, Flaxseeds(San Beej). (D) Vitamins and Minerals: Critical for normal functioning of organs and processes within our body. They do not provide energy directly but work behind the scenes to break down food into energy. (E) Fiber: It helps retain water and in making our stools softer to avoid constipation. Intake should be 25 to 35 grams a day. (F) Calories: A measure of how much energy food or drink contains. On an average, a man needs around 2,000 calories a day and a woman 1700 calories a day to maintain his weight and good health. Number varies by person depending upon weight, age and how active the lifestyle is. (G) Guideline: Each day have 3 main meals, 2 snacks, 5 pieces of fruit and at least 1 glass of milk. 4.Always usestairs rather than lift 5.Try to help your parent in house work 6,Be attentive,alert and focused in what you are doing.Mean avoid day dreaming 7.Drink lots of water and 2 glass milk daily. 8.Always work with your target and motive towards your aim.Dream of your aim rather than beyond your aim 9.Set up small goals in your life and achieve these one by one while moving towards your aim. 10.Always keep in your mind that life is very harsh and you have to nitch a name for yourself otherwise you will be lot in this harsh world like most of other. 11..Always keep the above 10 points in your mind which will help you to remain focused and once focused ,you will automatically gain stamina aand power to do work. 12. . BRAMARI PRANAYAM or Bee Breath 1.Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. 2.Place your thumbs in your ears, your index fingers above your eyebrows, and your remaining along the sides of your nose. Keep each pinky finger near a nostril. 3.Breath in deeply through the nose. First, feel the diaphragm move down, allowing the lungs to expand and forcing the abdomen out; then feel your chest expand with your collar bones rising last. .4.Use your pinkies to partially close each nostril. Keep your lungs filled. .5.Breathe out through the nose while humming. With sever swelling Nd pain you need to go for an X ray, till then don't move the knee, do not take weight and apply ice packs for 15 min with intervals of 2 hrs, this will help in reducing swelling and pain till some extend.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

(bending leg is foremost for reducing stiffness) but also stretching straight legs, stretching side ways, etc exercises does its also help in anyway reducing stiffening of leg ?

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi, I am an indian male of 39 years. After sitting for a while, when I get up, I feel stiff around my ankle. There is slight pain as well which goes away when I walk for a while. This also happens when I wake up and get down in the morning. What could be the possible reasons? -#indiafornepal.

Kindly rule out of any gout formation or simply its of plantar fascitis by your musuloskelatol neuro physiotherapist asap if so get it treated with ust or laser physiotherapy treatment for 12days use mcp footwear.

Do hot fomentation twice a day, do back stretching & strengthening exercises. Sleep on hard bed, don't bent forward. Sit straight with proper support. If still hurting then see a physiotherapist and take treatment- ift, us, swd.

I have fracture in ankle of my right leg on 6th march 2016. My plaster has been removed on after 46 days. I have joined duty. Bones have been joined. I have swelling in my feet n ankle. What Shd I do to recover from swelling completely? Should I take more rest? Is 46 is not enough? Is swelling will increase with more n more walking? Sir, as you were in a plaster cast for 8 weeks for a fracture, there is bound to be some amount of swelling as there was no movements of the joints during this period. The swelling will subside on its own slowly as you start moving the involved joints. You can use a crepe bandage during walking/standing which will help in reducing the swelling.

Hello, Kindly follow advises given below 1.Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2. In pain free interval do neck exercise (kindly learn exercise by registered Trainer) 3. you can use thin pillow while sleeping so that normal posture of neck can be maintained 4.Maintain proper posture of body while watching TV/ studying Kindly go for cervical X ray AP and lateral and review with reports Consult Physician for Further Management

Pain killer is only temporary remedy. You should apply some bone rejuvenation oil and intake lubrication medicine which will applies on the joints. Just 3 months medication 100% curable. Consult me to get the medicine or treatments. Thanks.

Hi this is dr.Vyas first u have to consult an orthopedic dr. Take an x-ray of lumber Spain. Take some mediation like pain killer, muscle relexent and antacid. Then do physiotherapy sessions for 7-10 day with ift ,back extension exercises and hot fermentation. She may get relief in 15 days then do regular low intensity exercises.
