Last week week I clear dust of my ear I feel some pain and notice some blood on cotton is it fearable? What should I do?
Dear sir blood on cotton means that some part of your external ear has been injured this could mean that your tympanic membrane (ear drum) may be the one that is injured so I suggest that you visit an ent specialist at the earliest please don't delay prevention of complications is much easier than trying to cure them later.

I have tonsils from last few days. From yesterday night I'm not able to speak properly please help me out.

MBBS, cc USG
General Physician, Gurgaon
Hello, I am giving you some home remedies for enlarged tonsils Gargle with warm salt water to reduce the swelling and pain caused by enlarged tonsils Mix honey and lime juice in a glass of warm water on this soothing drink to treat a sore throat and reduce nasal congestion Add a pinch of turmeric powder and black pepper powder to a glass of warm milk. steam inhalations to help relieve congestion in the chest and nasal passages. Stop from talking too much to rest the throat and speed up the healing process In most cases, tonsils will shrink to their normal size after a few days of such natural remedies. should drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep hydrated. Apart from water, he can drink clear soups, warm broths, herbal teas and fresh fruit and vegetable juices Avoid drinks that are too acidic such as citrus juices and buttermilk as these can aggravate symptoms Avoid all junk food and foods that are oily, fried and spicy Boiled vegetables, mashed potatoes, cooked oatmeal, jello, scrambled eggs and baked fruits are all excellent options. Avoid foods and snacks that are hard and crunchy such as chips, hard breads, and nuts as these can increase the inflammation. Consult ENT doctor for further Management

I am 45 years old man. While sleeping, I am always snoring. How to get rid of it.

MBBS, cc USG
General Physician, Gurgaon
Hello, I am giving you some health tips for snoring problem Lifestyle changes to stop snoring Lose weight. If you’re overweight Exercise exercising your arms, legs, and abs, for example, also leads to toning the muscles in your throat, which in turn can lead to less snoring Quit smoking. smoking irritates the membranes in the nose and throat which can block the airways and cause snoring. Avoid alcohol, sleeping pills, and sedatives because they relax the muscles in the throat Establish regular sleep patterns. Create a healthy bedtime ritual with your partner and stick to it Clear nasal passages. If you have a stuffy nose Keep bedroom air moist. Dry air can irritate membranes in the nose and throat, so if swollen nasal tissues are the problem, a humidifier may help. Change your sleeping position. Elevating your head four inches may ease breathing Sleep on your side instead of your back Consult chest physician for further management

My ears have been clogged with wax. What is the safest way to clean them? I have not been able to clean it properly. So please tell me a safe way.

My ears have been clogged with wax. What is the safest way to clean them? I have not been able to clean it properly. ...
First put wax dissolving ear drops for about 10 days. Consult an ent surgeon who will remove the wax by syringing. Please do not try to remove the wax on your own. You might push the wax deeper into the ear canal or in the process injury the ear canal or even the ear drum.

Dr. How many cost in septoplasty n rhinoplasty combine operation? Tell me about my Q.
It is called septorhinoplasty. The cost varies across different cities. It should be done by a well trained ent surgeon, otherwise your nose shape may get disturbed. It should cost 60, 000 to 1 lakh in any decent hospital.

Child 11 year old, having ear pain now & then and slight low hearing. Clinical history- was admitted and treated for loose motion in a hospital for a week when was under 1 year age. He was having more wax discharge till last 2 year. He is also having slightly conductive hearing loss. He was treated for the same for six month in 2012. Now wax is reduced. But ear pain is there , more in right ear.

MS - ENT
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Aurangabad
The child needs to have ear examination done, hearing assessment by pure tone audiometry for hearing evaluation. It should be done on priority basis, because hearing loss in young age children affects their learning & education.

Dear sir I am 25 years old I have tonsils problem. My nose is closed from 5 month I cannot take breath easily. Can yiu guide me please. I am waiting for your good and helpful advise. Thanks.

M S, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Gurgaon
Dear Imran I would give preference to nose compared to tonsils as most of the tonsil infections are easily curable. My first advice is to get yourself examined thoroughly. If nothing conclusive appears on examination, then CT scan if nose and paranasal sinuses will be the next step.
