Gum diseases can be treated and reversed in their initial stages very easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

Hi dr I am 23 year old, when I brush my teeth bleed automatically what should I do for it,

Post graduate certificate course of implantogy, BDS
This may be because of inflammation of gums. Inflammation occurs because of food debris deposited around the tooth in gum. This condition is called as gingivitis. Treatment of this is deep cleaning of your gums & teeth. That also called as scaling. This can be done in dentist's clinic. So please visit to a dentist.

Dental Implants

What are dental implant? How safe they are? What is the advantage of an implant?

Whenever, there is a missing tooth, earlier the treatment was to replace it with a plastic denture or with a fixed bridge. A denture requires ugly wires to hold it in place and for the bridge process, cutting the neighbouring healthy teeth is required, in order to provide support to it.

Both had limitations with respect to the number of teeth that could be replaced.

A Dental implant is nothing, but a screw made of pure Titanium and is fixed in the jaw bone. They are a 100% safe, provided the surgery is well planned and executed keeping the patient's overall medical health in mind and with specific attention given to the amount of remaining bone in the jaw.

Implants can be used to replace a single tooth or many missing teeth. Even if you have no teeth remaining, implants can be used to support a complete denture, thus making them secure and firm in fit.

The entire procedure is relatively painless as it is done under local anaesthesia and within 3 to 6 months with some additional measurements, your dentist will be able to fabricate custom-made teeth for you that allow you to chew and talk just like before!

Keep in mind that along with regular check up, good maintenance on your part as a patient with good hygiene habits, your implants could last for many years. In our practice we have replaced single teeth, multiple missing teeth and entirely missing sets including those with complete dentures (learn more about Regular Care for Dentures) for patients from the age of 30 to 85! There is no reason for you not to get a satisfactory result with dental implants!

Since fruits and vegetables like apples, carrots and corn require continous biting, their consumption should be avoided during orthodontic treatment.

I am suffering from teeth colour. My teeth is very fast yellow colour adopt. So how much intervals to clean my teeth?

Dentist, Vadodara
You can get your teeth cleaned every 6 months. The yellowness in teeth is caused due to increase consumption of caffeinated or aerated drinks like coffee, tea or pepsi or smoking, tobacco chewing, some medication, too hard brushing. Brush twice daily. Clean your mouth every time you eat or drink anything.

Hello Doctor, I see yellow stains in tooth. I dnt drink or smoke. I brush regularly, What is the remedy? Recently seeing myself so close to observe this. I'm 31 male and really worried on this. Regards.

Dentist, Gurgaon
tooth colour changes with age. not only smoking and drinking, but our food habits are also responsible for this. also our oral hygiene practices cause huge difference. but if these stains are in patches, it may be due to fluorosis also. visit a dentist for its proper diagnosis and treatment will be given accordingly, either scaling and polishing or bleaching or veneering.

Dear bleeding from gums can have numerous causes but the most common cause of the problem is poor/inadequate oral hygiene maintenance. Over a period of time the gum tissues surrounding the tooth get infected and swollen and start bleeding even by the slightest provocation. As is evident from your question you have been concerned about your problem for quite some time now and have on your part tried to cure it by changing tooth pastes. Actually the problem is more related to our faulty and inadequate brushing technique. What you need to do now is to visit a dentist & get a professional dental cleaning done. Once that is done get into the habit of brushing at least twice daily, regular rinsing of mouth and flossing. Pleas take instructions from your dentist for the proper technique to brush and floss. That should keep your gum healthy and you happy. Regards.

My mouth has a continues bad breath and my teeth is becoming yellow. Please advise.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Is removing teeth is necessary when you are doing treatment of your teeth by braces.

Dentist, Mumbai
Actually removing of the teeth is necessary only when your teeth are crowded or needs to be shifted back but there are no spaces between the teeth so extraction is a way by which we make space to shift the teeth in proper allignment.

I'm a 22 yead old male, I've gum bleeding once in a while (like once a month), do I need to worry about it? See a dentist?

Dentist, Gurgaon
Bleeding gum is due to various reasons for example:- -tooth infection -diabetes mellitus -iron overload -malnutrition -harmonal imbalance -use of aspirin and anticoagulants etc. I advice you visit a dentist once in every 3-4 month for plaque removal. Use soft bristle tooth-brush. Use floss twice a day it prevent plaque formation. Tooth paste with triclosan should be used. Use anti-plaque mouthwash two times in a day for 15 days. A balanced healthy diet should be taken.

Bleeding gums indicates pyorrhoea. Scaling once in a year is mandatory. It will definitely sort out your problem of bleeding gums. Post scaling you can maintain your gums health by rinsing with warm salt water and gum massaging.

My teeth and gums are very sensitive. Most of the time I suffer from tooth ache. During last few days I was suffering from severe ache in my jaws due to tooth decay. At present I am going through root canal in my right side bottom tooth, very painful. This is the condition of my teeth. Is it a cause of diabetes? One of my above tooth is also need extraction. I brush my teeth regularly twice a day and also clean my tongue, but still I am suffering from bad breath. I feel very embarrassing. Please suggest what type of care and prevention I should take in future to save my teeth.

Hello mam, thanks for your query. Well diabetes has deletrious effects on many organs and oral structure is one of them. It is associated with bone loss and gums problems and the best treatment is to maintain good oral hygiene and keep check on raised sugar level. We'll go for proper professional cleaning twice a year. Eat lots of fuits and drink good amount of fluids daily to maintain proper hydration of your body. These are few steps by which you can maintain your oral hygiene properly. Diet and regular cleaning is main part of your treatment. Regarding tooth decay you have to go for root canal procedure for that. It's painless now a days but in some conditions where infection is very severe, anesthesia doesn't work properly. So you might have to bear that discomfort. I hope my suggestion will be fruitful to you. Thanks and regards.
