10 tips for how to sleep better:

1. Rest in cozy comfort: 
A quality mattress, soft blankets and cool temperature will reduce annoying distractions (too hot! achy back!) and help you relax.

2. Turn on some soothing sounds: use a sound machine or a fan to drown out what may be preventing you from falling asleep within 15 minutes of laying down.

3. Complete darkness: 
If your room isn’t completely dark, consider a sleep mask—this will also increase your natural production of melatonin, which is not only a great sleep inducer but a great cancer fighter as well (study).

4. Snooze-inducing smells: wearing lavender lotion or using a diffuser with lavender essential oil may help you hit deep sleep sooner. Plus, who doesn’t love the smell of lavender? ahhh…

5. Turn off tech at least 1 hour before going to bed. Then, keep lights dim and read or meditate to let your body naturally make some sleepy melatonin (the hormone that is produced as it gets dark out, and regulates sleep and wake cycles).

6. Skip or reduce caffeine. Caffeine not only prevents many folks from falling asleep at night initially, but it can also decrease the amount of restful sleep that happens at night (study). If you’re having trouble sleeping at night, try decaf, herbal tea or keep it to one cup very early in the morning.

7. Go easy on the alcohol: Alcohol feels like a sedative at first because it slows down motor and brain function, leaving us feeling relaxed and worry-free. But, as it’s metabolized, acetaldehyde is produced, which acts like a stimulant in our bodies. This is what wakes us up in the wee hours of the morning unable to get the rest we need. So for a good night’s sleep, peel back on the alcohol and drink it earlier and with food (or not at all).

8. No nicotine: Nicotine is similar to caffeine in that it’s a stimulant and may cause insomnia. And even once you fall asleep, you’ll have decreased slow wave sleep, which means it’s less restorative (study). Tough love: stop smoking. Period. (i adore you too much not to say this.)

9. Exercise: Try to fit in 20-30 min of moderate exercise daily, but make sure to do it several hours before bed. Ideally, 20-30 minutes of cardio in the morning with some restorative yoga in the afternoon.

10. Clear your mind: If you’re tossing and turning after switching the lights off, you may need to hit the reset button on your mind. Here are a few things to try. Before going to bed, journal—jot it all down. You could also try a guided meditation. If you can’t fall asleep after lying in bed for 15 minutes, get up and do something relaxing for 15-30 minutes before returning to bed. Don’t give up. You’ll find a strategy that works for you.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

From couple of days I am suffering from toothache the side lower 3 teeth's and today I got bleed from it can you say any solution.

You can take tab brufen 2oo mg/ for pain. If pain still persists one can visit dentist and only after clinical evaluation one can provide you with medications as necessary.

I am 34 years old, I have diabetic I am using the tablets for that, but my both legs is paining in the night when I lay down on the bed. Pain is between the feet and nee.

You can try taking calcium & vit d tablets for the same. Try a pain killer for the time being along with calcium & vit d. Once the pain has settled continue with calcum & vit d.

Dear its very difficult to grow height at this age ...try the tips for 1 month may be they can help u.. 1.Try jumping n running early morning. 2.Practice yoga daily..talasana,trikonasana, hastpadasna,charkrasana ,suryanamaskar daily 10 min per asana. 3.Eat proteinious diet especially in breakfast lyk sprouts, boiled egg.... 3.Have 1 ltr of milk daily.... 4.Take 1 tab ashwgandha twice daily with milk with meals

Hair fall is related to stress and not porn do not create unnecessary guilt, the sexual build up needs a release. You are yourself creating a conflict by doing a thing and regreting it too. Relax.

Meanwhile, I would suggest some general measures to help you manage your acne. 1. Use a good face wash like cetaphil cleanser to wash your face. 2. If you get fresh pimples apply faceclin gel over these for 5-7 days. 3. Avoid junk food, excessive milk intake, sugary foods and follow a good exercise regiment. 4. There is no affect on your height due to masturbation. Masturbation is not really bad; it is the addiction to it that is bad. Not even the number of years is a problem but the frequency and compulsiveness to do it is to be considered for its ill-effects. At your age you may feel it difficult and it can become addictive if you have alone time, if you obsess about it, and if you are not into relationships. The problem with addiction to this is that you may go on to prefer masturbation to heterosexual contact, even when you are married. That obviously would be an insult to your wife and will lead to a lot of conflict. Heterosexual contact is very wholesome and the physiology is made exactly for penile and vaginal contact. You will instead enjoy a poor replica of this and not know or care for the difference. The second thing that can happen with addiction is that it will become compulsive and will have no boundaries or limits, since it can be done all by yourself, whenever, wherever, and however too. The big problem a lot of children get into is the guilt around this. A useful way to discharge the energy is to get into contact games, or exercises, or even hobbies to channelize it. Also you should not spend too much time alone, and you need to keep your mind occupied with other interesting things and a lot of socializing. Even if you are not interested in marriage, for whatever reasons, it will help you to get into a friendship with a girl and enjoy the relationship where there will be a lot of excitement when you fall in love. Right now your hormones may be very active and your physiological apparatus is primed and ready for sexual stimulation. But because of your age and even otherwise it is important to develop good control and not feed into your impulses. Keeping yourself occupied and living a healthy social life are the keys to manage your sexual drives.

Dear lybrate user. A) take 10-10ml of fresh lemon juice and honey before meal. B) take 2-2 tablets of sutshekhar rasa and aarogyawardhini rasa after meals. C) eat 10 gm of black cumin seeds along with 10 gm of jaggery after meals d) take 30 ml of aloe vera juice and 30 ml of lukewarm water at night before sleep. Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you good result.

Losing weight suddenly will only cause increase in wt later. You have to make effort to lose wt gradually over a period of time. None of tooth paste or brush can make your teeth white. Pls visit a dentist for it. And always use a soft brush as brush r ment to clean soft deposits (plaque, not hard one. Hard brush will do abrassion only. Hard deposits r cleaned by a professional only.

Get yourself diagnosed. Go for a thyroid test, with all tsh t3 & t4 levels. Do continue with your swimming. And its good you having a decent diet. Still include more of fibrous fruits rich in vitamin c.
