Pls help me, is chronic anxiety harmful for health? Will it suppress the immunity system of our body? If you tell me, definitely I'll come out of such a situation.

I have an old case of heart attack. I was then a chain smoker. Am now on glycomet gp3/850, prlomet r 25, clopilet 75, istavel 100, rozavel f 10 since 3 years. Sir, do I need these drugs for so long. I have stopped smoking since2004. I think am loosing weight, and at tines I get a jerk in my nerves. Can you give your opinion ?

Hi thanks for posting your query. Well yes you need to continue all these medications lifelong. But there are combination medications like ecospirin gold ( can be used as replacement for clopilet+rozavel f ). Prolomet is an blood pressure medicine which can be reduced only if your blood pressure is under good control. Jerk in nerves indicate neuropathy-- means nerve damage. It is a complication of diabetes. I would recommend you to get nerve conduction study of your legs and revert back.

First : medicines are mandatory.  Otherwise you might have weight gain, muscle ache, sleep and anxiety issues as well as reproductive  and cardiac issues later. You need to get an USG neck done  and an FNAC USG guided of thyroid gland. FT3/FT4/TSH  If you have already done these tests Share on Lybrate I can help you better. Any history of alcohol  intake /fatty food /sugary food How much exercise do you get done every day? Ideally you should be doing a good mix of cardio ,weights and crossfit  exercises to keep you healthy Together  with a balanced diet with optimum  healthy fat protein and carbs.  Avoid  deep fried fatty food and fast food. No soft drinks /sugary drinks. I am outlining  food you should avoid or restrict in Hypothyroidism. It's important  you maintain  your body weight exercise regularly. Weight gain increases thyroid hormone requirements.  Avoid cruciferous   group of veggies  like cabbage and broccoli. Avoid soya bean in all forms. No soya ,nugget, chunk,tofu or milk. Limit their intake: Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, turnips, and bok choy. Cooking the vegetables can reduce the effect that cruciferous vegetables have on the thyroid gland. Limiting your intake to 5 ounces a day appears to have no adverse effect on thyroid function. Decrease gluten  intake from processed  food. Always try whole grain varieties of cereals which is rich in fibres and help improve  bowels (Take your thyroid replacement  medicine several hours before or several hours after food rich in fibres .Otherwise problem  with absorption  of hormone. 20 to 35 gram of fibres daily from all sources. Avoid excessive fatty (deep fried) and sugary food as hypothyroidism  causes your metabolism  to slow down &weight gain. Avoid highly salted food, chips,pickles, sauces as they contain  large amount of sodium .Hypothyroidism  puts you at risk of high BP and excess sodium in salt aggravates Coffee  in excess. And coffee with thyroid hormone  replacement  can prevent absorption.  Alcohol. It is toxic to thyroid gland and prevents  hormone production and absorption. The problems of hypothyroidism  gets better with medicines, diet and exercise.  You will start  better as the levels of your hormone normalises.  Initially  you need to do the TSH test every 6 weeks till normal TSH then every 3 months Diet /EXERCISE/Medicines/Sleep/meditation :5 pillars of health needed to live the healthiest Hope this helps

Hello- 6 Dietary and Lifestyle Tips To Lower cholestrol Levels- 1. Limit your intake of foods full of saturated fats, trans fats, and dietary cholesterol. Best Choice: Omega-3-rich fish, such as salmon, sardines, herring, mackerel, and trout. Choose at least 2 times weekly. If you’re using canned fish, such as canned sardines, select very-low-sodium or no-salt-added varieties. Good Choice: Most other fish, plus shelled mollusks (clams, oysters, mussels, scallops). Satisfactory Choices: Crustaceans (shrimp, crab, lobster, crawfish), Poultry (white meat, skinless) Game Meat (bison, venison, elk, ostrich), optimally free-range and grass-fed Poor Choice: Red meat (beef, pork, lamb, veal, goat). For all red meat choices, select cuts that are under 30% fat. 2. Eat a lot more fiber-rich foods (especially soluble fiber from foods like beans, oats, barley, fruits, and vegetables). 3. Choose protein-rich plant foods (such as legumes or beans, nuts, and seeds) over meat. 4. Lose as much excess weight as possible. 5. Take plant sterol supplements. 6. After thallium test the cardiologist has said that 20 percent damage to heart & an be treated by medicine. No need for angiography & has given medicine is it ok ?

I am 39 years old. Some times I am feeling palpitation and at the same time discomfort in breathing and it is observed particularly in the evening times. Earlier went to cardiologist and they admitted for a half day he done all the tests like ecg for every 3 hours and chest x-ray, blood tests. All are normal. Please suggest.

Get your bp checked twice a day (morning and evening) for month and do proper charting. For getting your sugar checked use accuchek glucometer. Check your blood sugar checked fasting and 2 hours after meal get back to me after one month with bp charting.

hi. there are many causes of chest pain. heart problems, high B.P., acidity, any injury in chest/ ribs. infection in lungs, for pain take tab. dolo 650 mg sos after meal for pain. take syp. diagene 15 ml before meal or sos when acidity occurs. inhale steam if breathing problems or cough occurs. to confirm do few CHECKUP B.P., cbc. blood sugar, x-ray chest P.A. view, avoid high cholesterol foods/oily foods. junk foods. after tests consult again to physician. welcome in lybrate.

I am residing in kuwaitand am from mumbai. I am 51 yrs I am 51 51 yrs ild and pure vegetarian jain. My weight is 85 kgs. I have high BP like 180/190 for which I am taking 1 tab a day zestril (astrazeneca) 20 mg, I have cholesterol in liver for which I take lipanthyl (recipharm contain) 145 mg, my blood sugar at fasting is 200. I have high TG in blood for which I take proton (pantoprazole) 40 mg, I have slip disk problem in L4 and L5, which cause lot of pain and always swelling at back, pls suggest me what to eat and what to do to improve my health condition. Dear lipanthyl is for your high tg, zestril is for your bp. I suggest you to make changes in your lifestyle. Reduce the quantity of salt. Avoid processed foods. Increase the quantity of green leafy vegggies. I guess your lifestyle must be sedentary in kuwait. Have your food early. Before sunset if pssible. It will definitely help you. Once you come to mumbai. You can see me. Will try to help you.

Hi as your age is just 21 years chances of angina are highly unlikely you have not mentioned your smoking habits alcohol intake you life style sedantry or active you sleep cycle do you have gastritis. Acid disorder, flatulence,gas problem is the pain associated with fore head sweating chest heaviness after heavy food can be angina also or it can be because of ulcers in tomach or gstritis please clearify the above question before I could make a diagnosis for you thanks.

Not unusual at your age. Go and play with your friends. But the game should have a lot of physical activity like Football or Badminton or TT. Take a vitamin B Supplement. That should take care of your moods.

Hello dear High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation,yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress,take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. Garlic,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . for uric acid take tab. zyloric 100 mg once a day.
