Pawanmuktasana – Gas Release Posture Pawan - Air, Gas Mukta - Free, release Asana – Pose Taking the asana position: • Lie on your back resting against the floor ( Supine position) • Exhale and while inhaling slowly raise the legs to a 90 degree angle from the floor. • Bend both legs at the knees and rest the thighs against the abdomen, keeping the knees and ankles together. • Encircle the knees with both arms, hands clasping opposite elbows. • Bend the neck and place the chin on the knees. Continue to maintain the asana, breathing normally. The asana position: In this position the thighs are pressed against the abdomen and the wrists or elbows are clasped. The neck is bent towards the knees and if possible the forehead or chin is touching the knees. The breath is relaxed. Releasing the asana position: • Straighten the neck and lower the head back on to the ground. • Release the arms and place them beside the body. • While inhaling straighten both of the legs, let them rest at 90 degrees from the ground. • Exhaling slowly lower the legs back to the supine position. Do: • Try to touch the chin to the knees. • Try to keep the legs together. • Relax the body and breathe normally in the pose. • Point the toes. Don’t: • Strain your neck. • Overstretch, trying to pull the thighs too close and causing strain. Duration: To begin with start with 10 seconds and slowly increase up to one minute. Sequence It is good to practice this pose on waking as it stimulates bowel movements. During your asana practice, this pose should be the done in first few practices as it will relieve the trapped gases from intestines and will make the asana practice more easy and flexible. Additional section - Bhujangasana resembles a serpent with its hood raised. Cobra Pose or Bhujangasana is part of the sequence of yoga postures in Padma Sadhana and Surya Namaskar. How to do Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana) • Lie on your stomach with your toes flat on the floor and forehead resting on the ground. • Keep your legs close together, with your feet and heels lightly touching each other. • Place your hands (palms downwards) under your shoulders, keeping your elbows parallel and close to your torso. • Taking a deep breath in, slowly lift your head, chest and abdomen while keeping your navel on the floor. • Pull your torso back and off the floor with the support of your hands. • Checkpoint: Are you putting equal pressure on both the palms? • Keep breathing with awareness, as you curve your spine vertebra by vertebra. If possible, straighten your arms by arching your back as much as possible; tilt your head back and look up. • Checkpoint: Are your shoulders away from your ears? Keep your shoulders relaxed, even if it means bending your elbows. With regular practice, you will be able to deepen the stretch by straightening the elbows. • Ensure that your feet are still close together. Keep smiling and breathing. Smiling Cobras! • Don’t overdo the stretch or overstrain yourself. • Breathing out, gently bring your abdomen, chest and head back to the floor. Benefits of the Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana) • Opens up the shoulders and neck. • Tones the abdomen. • Strengthens the entire back and shoulders. • Improves flexibility of the upper and middle back. • Expands the chest. • Improves blood circulation. • Reduces fatigue and stress. • Useful for people with respiratory disorders such as asthma. Dermatologist,
Hi lybrate-user. Appearance of acne vulgaris depends on hormones in the body which regulate sebum production. So pimples usually can recur till the age of 25. So maintenance after treatment is also important which can be done by applying topical retinoids daily at night time. Also use glycolic acid containing face wash 2-3 times daily which will help in keeping the face oil and dirt free. Drink plenty of water and also increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Sir, I am a asthma patient, and I am using seroflo rotacaps, is there any side effect? can the disease be cure by this?

Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (H.M.D.)
Homeopath, Belgaum
Definitely seroflo rotacap has got side effect as u know seroflo is bronchodilator so primary action of drug give u relief but successive continuation may leads to sevier bronchi constriction means asthma increased more severe All of us are at a high risk of catching a cold, cough and stuffy nose during the winter season. None of us are totally immune to these winter ailments. Some of common winter season problems are Allergic Rhinitis, Allergic Bronchitis, Asthma, Dry Skin, Psoriasis??..etc Allergic Rhinitis How often have you been troubled by bouts of sneezing and an itchy, runny nose that persistently lands up with you precisely on the day of your important presentation? If this happens more than once in a while with you, it?s about time you sought treatment for your Allergic Rhinitis. Allergic Bronchitis: When bronchitis is triggered by an allergic reaction instead of by a cold or the flu, it is called allergic bronchitis. Like common bronchitis, allergic bronchitis is accompanied by a cough that produces green or yellow mucus. It may also involve a slight fever, chills and a sore chest or throat. To understand what is happening when a person gets bronchitis, you have to know the parts of the respiratory system. When you breathe air in, it travels to the lungs through the trachea. This is commonly called the windpipe and starts in the back of the throat. Once the air gets to the lungs, it moves through smaller tubes that are arranged like branches. These tubes are called bronchi. They connect to smaller passages, the bronchioles, which end in balloon-like alveoli. When a person has bronchitis, the bronchi are irritated and inflamed. Features : Allergic bronchitis starts when the person breathes in something to which they are allergic. This can be a simple pollen, secondhand smoke or a toxic fume from a chemical. The allergy causes the bronchi to become irritated and inflamed. This causes the kind of cough that brings up yellow or green mucus. Causes: The most common causes of allergic bronchitis are commonly found in people's homes. Besides pollen, many people find that their allergic bronchitis is triggered when they breathe in debris left by cockroaches, mold spores, animal dander, dust or dust mites. Warning: Exposure to toxins at work can also cause another form of allergic bronchitis known as occupational bronchitis. Fumes caused by ammonia, chlorine, acids, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and bromine can also trigger occupational bronchitis. The main symptom of this kind of bronchitis is a dry cough that does not bring up mucus. Bronchial Asthma: Bronchial asthma is an inflammatory disease of the respiratory airways. People who have asthma are usually allergic to a combination of substances, such as pollen. When exposed to these substances, they begin to experiencing wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest discomfort and episodes of coughing. If treated properly, asthma rarely causes long-term complications, but if left untreated the disease can cause a variety of complications. Asthma can occur at any age. But the Child hood asthma or children asthma is the most common health problem in the present day society. Similarly chronic bronchitis is also another major respiratory problem frequently occurs in children at any age groups. If this chronic bronchitis is not treated properly with constitutional homeopathic treatment then it may turns into bronchial asthma in the future. The common symptoms of chronic bronchitis and child asthma are - frequent attack of cough, cold, fever, tightness of chest, shortness of breath with wheezing sound on respiration, easy fatigue and loss of appetite. The prevalence of asthma is increasing especially in the children. That episodic attack of child asthma and chronic bronchitis can be cured completely and permanently by constitutional homeopathy treatment. The chronic bronchitis and bronchial asthma are not only limited to children but in adult case also. But in comparison to adult the children are more suffer with chronic bronchitis and asthma because children are exposed to more and more allergens such as dust, air pollution, and second-hand smoke. Their immune system is not so much stronger to resist those infections. Another factor is decreasing rate of breastfeeding to the children that deprives the essential substances required for a healthy immune system of a child. So it is also another major factor of weak immune system of the child. Now a day the children more like to all types of junk and fast foods that also one factor of deprivation of essential micro nutrients needed to build up a healthy immune system. The others causes are the genetic or hereditary factors. CAUSES OF CHRONIC BRONCHITIS AND ASTHMA The external environmental factors: Those are - exposure to dusts and pollen, secondhand smoke, faulty diet habits, food allergens, chemicals (pesticides), environmental factors (dust mites, cats, cockroaches, fungi) and temperature intolerance are major factors of creating chronic bronchitis and asthma. Physical exertion or exercise also influences to induce asthmatic episode. Certain infections such as viral, bacterial, or fungal infections often lead to asthmatic breathing too. The Internal Immunological or hereditary factors: Besides the external stimulatory factors, the low immune system of the child also plays an important role in manifesting the symptoms asthma and bronchitis in child cases. There are many factors responsible for weak immunity of a child. Among them decreasing rate of breast feeding that deprives the required essential substances for a healthier immune system, habits of taking more junk and processed foods that also deprives the essential micronutrients required to build up a healthy immune system plays the most important role in developing chronic bronchitis and asthma. Thus the weak immune system of the child is very prone or susceptible to any change in the atmosphere or slightest exposure to any infection may be viral or bacterial or fungi lead to develop respiratory problems. CHANGES OCCUR IN THE RESPIRATORY TUBES OF AN ASTHMATIC CHILD Asthma is a respiratory disorder caused by the inflammation in the airways called the bronchi that lead to the lungs. This inflammation can constrict the airways and tighten, which blocks air from flowing freely into the lungs, making it hard to breathe. Symptoms include wheezing, shortness of breath, tightness of chest, and fatigue on little exertion or play, shortness of breath and cough at night or after exercise/activity. The inflammation of the bronchus makes them very sensitive, resulting in spasm of the airways that tend to narrow, particularly when the lungs are exposed to any allergens, cold air, any smoke, infection and exercise. Things that trigger asthma differ from person to person. Some common triggers are allergies, viral infections, exercise, and smoke. When asthma patient is exposed to a trigger, their bronchus become inflamed, swell up, and fill with mucus. In addition, the muscles lining the swollen bronchus tighten and constrict, making them even more narrowed and obstructed. The inflammation of the bronchus, excess mucus secretion, narrowed airways or bronchoconstriction are the three major changes that occurs in asthmatic bronchus. Anyone can have asthma, including infants and adolescents. The recent scientific reports suggest that patients with asthma are likely to develop more severe problems due to H1N1 infection. Thus for a permanent cure to chronic bronchitis and child asthma conditions, the treatment should be aimed to build up a healthy immune system. If the immune system is healthy and strong enough that can be able to protect the child from various allergens and infection that are suppose to give bad impact in their body. It can only be possible by the constitutional homeopathy treatment. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BRONCHITIS AND ASTHMA Asthma is a condition where the bronchial tubes go into spasms. When this happens there is coughing, tightness of chest and has difficulty breathing, and wheezing can often by heard as air attempts to get through the narrowed bronchi. There is often no mucus. Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchi. The patient with bronchitis always has a cough, dry in the early stage and with of sputum in the later stage. There is no tightness or constriction feeling on chest. It can be due to smoking, or any number of illnesses like colds, or flu. COMPLICATION OF BRONCHITIAL ASTHMA: 1. Patients suffering from bronchial asthma often develop a decreased ability to exercise or perform other physical activities 2. Bronchial asthma can cause a permanent change in the respiratory pathways. This process is called airway remodeling, and is a complication of untreated asthma. The constant inflammation causes the airways, or bronchi, to narrow. This adversely affects the patient's breathing efficiency. If asthma causes airway remodeling, then the patient will need to be monitored for difficulty breathing and decreased oxygen content of the blood. 3. Severe, chronic cases of bronchial asthma commonly prevent patients from getting adequate amounts of sleep. This is because the disease often manifests at night, which causes patients to wake up; the hormones that cause the inflammation of the airways can be released even when patients are asleep. This causes patients to wake up wheezing, coughing or breathing heavily. HOMEOPATHIC MANAGEMENT: There are two main variations of the classical approach of homeopathy treatment. One approach applies homeopathic remedies to disease classifications or pathology. This is the so-called clinical approach. The second variation is purely symptom similarity from totality of symptoms i.e. Genetic constitutional approach. Current research indicates that the constitutional and clinical approaches are about equally effective and are the preferred classical methods. Genetic Homoeopathy applies both the clinical and constitutional approach of homeopathy treatment. Clinical approach to give time being relief and Genetic Constitutional approach in order to cure permanently. It is a unique and new approach of Homoeopathic treatment developed by Genetic Homoeopathy from experience and research work. Some of commonly used medicines are Arsenic album, Kali Crab, Antimonium Tart, Apis Mellifica, Silicia, Natrum Sulph, Bromium?etc Should be taken in strict medical supervision.

Hello sir/mam, I am unable to sleep from so long not even in afternoon most of the time I am awake. Which also unable me to focus on studies. Pls suggest some treatment.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Sleep is the best reliever of all stress and physical pain. Not only is it important to get sleep, but also to sleep soundly and without any disturbance. The quality matters. Here are a few tips to get better sleep: 1.It is important to maintain the same sleep schedule every single day. This helps to naturalize your body clock and get the best quality sleep. 2.Switch off all mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices. Their artificial glow not only hampers your eyesight, but also prolongs the amount of time your body takes to relax and fall off to sleep. 3.If your back pain causes you to continually wake up in the middle of the night in discomfort, then sleep with a pillow or cushion between your legs so as to straighten out your back and relieve pent up stress. 4.The importance of your pillow can never be stressed upon enough. Your pillow should be not too fat, hard or soft. It should just about support the natural curve of your neck, so that it is perfectly aligned with the centre of your body. Correct sleeping postures are extremely important. 5.Make sure your room is nice and dark so as to stimulate the secretion of a hormone called melatonin that is regulated by light exposure. Darker the room, greater melatonin, making you more sleepy. 6.Those who exercise regularly and well are known to be fitful sleepers. Exercise well before bedtime. If required, do some light yoga or stretching exercises that promote sleep. 7.What you eat throughout the day makes a difference to the quality of your sleep. Stay away from too much caffeine, alcohol, or a heavy meal just before sleeping. They only make you stay awake for longer and may cause heartburn or stomach trouble. Don't drink too much water, or else you will be making more midnight trips to the bathroom than clocking those sleep hours. 8.Try to keep your head clear of all worries and stress when in bed. Regular meditation and deep breathing can help. There is no end to all the things you can do to sleep well and comfortably. It is important to be self-disciplined to sleep well and hence be a healthy individual. Resting at night plays an important role in regulating your daily health and your level of energy throughout a day. Also, not only the quantity but the quality of sleep is also important for a healthy lifestyle. Bedtime habits do play a vital role in shaping up your lifestyle and personality as a whole. Here are many lifestyle habits that can help you to get sound sleep. Excess sleep can be due to anaemia, Hypothyroidism or general weakness and a blood test is needed and you may contact me personally by Lybrate site for further advice 1.Make regular and a fixed sleep pattern: Going to sleep and waking up the same time every day helps to maintain an equilibrium in the sleep-wake cycle called diurnal rhythm. If this balance is maintained, then your body will be accustomed to this pattern and as a result, you will feel less tired and fresh throughout the day 2. Maintain a definite dietary regulation: You should also maintain a proper diet plan and observe the consequences/effects of the foods that you are eating and the fluids that you are drinking on your sleep pattern. Taking a good and properly nutritious diet on a daily basis will help you to stay healthy and help your natural sleep-wake cycle. 3. Ensure that your room has mild or dim lighting or darkness if you prefer: The level of light also matters at the time of your sleep. You should definitely make sure that there is a very minimal level of light or darkness around you when you try to sleep. This should be done because the lesser is the light, the more comfortable you are while sleeping. Additionally, the sleep that you will get in a dark room will also be sound and undistorted as it helps keep all the sensory organs calm. 4). Do some relaxing activities before bedtime: Depending on your choice, you should follow simple techniques of relaxation in order to calm down the brain before sleep. Like mediation, Yoga or- deep breathing exercise, muscle relaxing activity, visualizing a peaceful setting/ scenario like a calm garden or beach or mountain area. These activities are just guidelines and you can do anything that helps you to get a relaxing mood and sleep. 5). Avoid daytime naps if you can, But Having short naps of less than one hour is absolutely okay if you are excessively tired during the day or you did not have a sound sleep the previous night. But, if you are consistently having long naps during the day then you are bound to have sleep issues during the night. So it is advisable to sleep early and wake up early for a healthy schedule. 6) Regular exercise: Exercising regularly helps to improve the overall quality of sleep by making you tired at night and sending you to bed more efficiently. Light to mild exercises also helps cure sleep disorders like insomnia. Resting at night plays an important role in regulating your daily health and your level of energy throughout a day. Also, not only the quantity but the quality of sleep is also important for a healthy lifestyle. Bedtime habits do play a vital role in shaping up your lifestyle and personality as a whole. Here are 6 lifestyle habits that can help you to get sound sleep on a daily basis. 1. Having a fixed sleep pattern: Going to sleep and waking up approximately during the same time every day helps to maintain an equilibrium in the sleep-wake cycle. If this balance is maintained then your body will be accustomed to this pattern and as a result, you will feel less tired and sleepy during the daytime. 2. Maintaining certain dietary regulations: You should also maintain a proper diet plan and examine the consequences of the foods that you are eating and the fluids that you are drinking. Taking a proper and nutritious diet on a daily basis will help you to stay healthy by not disrupting your natural sleep-wake cycle. 3. Ensuring that your room has appropriate lighting: The level of light also matters at the time of your sleep. You should definitely make sure that there is a very minimal level of light around you during bed time. This should be done because the lesser is the light, the more comfortable you are while sleeping. Additionally, the sleep that you will get into a dark room will also be sound and undistorted as it helps keep all the sensory organs calm. 4. Regular exercise: Exercising regularly helps to improve the overall quality of sleep by making you tired at night and sending you to bed more efficiently. Light to mild exercises also helps cure sleep disorders like insomnia. 5. Opting for some relaxing activities before bed: Depending on your personality, you should follow simple techniques of relaxation in order to calm down the brain before sleep. Some of the most common relaxation techniques include- deep breathing exercise, muscle relaxing activity, visualizing a peaceful setting/ scenario and a light before-bed snack. The above-mentioned activities are just suggestive and you should do anything that helps you to get a sound sleep. 6. Having daytime naps: Having short naps of less than one hour is absolutely okay if you are excessively tired during the day or you did not have a sound sleep the previous night. But, if you are consistently having long naps during the day then you are bound to have sleep issues during the night. So it is advisable to sleep early and wake up early for a healthy schedule.

It is normal to lose about 30-80 strands of hair in a day. The common reasons behind hair fall are lack of essential nutrients in the body, improper and unhealthy dietary habits, hormonal imbalance, certain medications, dandruff, alopecia and other scalp disorders, stress and tension etc. Natural oils such as coconut, olive, jojoba, almond etc. Can be used to massage the scalp for countering hair fall. Gently massage the scalp prior to head bath twice a week. Also check hemoglobin for anaemia and thyroid status with serum tsh. Have more proteins and trace minerals like copper, zinc, selenium in diet. Start taking a hair nutrition supplement. Keep stress away with regular exercise, yoga, meditation. Get the underlying scalp condition like dandruff treated.

Massaging helps circulate blood and brings nutrients to the scalp. Put both your hands on the head and move your fingers in slow, circular motion. Massaging will make your scalp warm and tingly — it is an indicator that blood is flowing to the scalp which will help in hair growth.

You may be suffering from disc problem. I need to look your MRI Spine lumbosacral region and investigation like TLC, DLC, CRP, HLA B-27. Maybe the slip disc is compressing your nerve resulting numbness. Medicine may be of some help. Non operative treatment include TFSI, Disc Fix and Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar discectomy (PLED) are now available. PLED is one the latest alternative to surgery which is performed percutaneous through a small hole in skin less than 1/2 inch, no blood loss, using local anaesthesia and you will be ambulatory on next day ,need hospitalisation for max. Three days .Facilities for PLED is available at few private hospitals, not done in most of the Medical colleges. If you are suffering from Osteoporosis you need medication. Prof. V.Rastogi Pain Management Specialist.
