Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You seem to be having thigh strain which is very common if you exert too much while training, the answer is to stop all your physical activities till your pain subsides, start gentle anti inflammatory medications for 7-10 days, ice packs at home, limb elevation especially if it is associated with swelling, physical therapy focusing on scientific muscle training, pre activity warm up and gradual stretching of muscles before physical activity. You should also focus on increasing your physical activity gradually in a step wise manner so that muscles do not get fatigued and are adequately strengthened over a period of time. get a CT scan done to rule out any cartilage/meniscal pathology....if noise is pain free nothing to worry but jst to rule for internal anatomy investigations wld help... Ex's for building strength in Ur knee musculature esp Quads n Hams is also adviced

This could be due to lumbar spondylosis with nerve root compression. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated.

I am a 45 year old woman. My head suddenly starts spinning and continues for 2 to 3 days. My pressure is normal and having no spondylitis. Massage the knee with eucalyptus oil and give hot water fomentation. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Also take calcium tablets for a limited period 2 months consult after 5 days.

Take hot water fermentation daily and avoid jerk in spine, avoid maintaining one posture prolonged duration, avoid forward bending and back ward bending. Consult any nearest physiotherapist.

Apply hot fomentation Do back isometrics- lying straight palce a towel roll under lower back & ask her to press downwards hold for 3sec then relax, 10times, twice daily Bridging- lying straight fold both kness then lift back upwards hold for 3sec then relax, 10times, twice daily SLR- lying straight ask her to lift leg upwards hold for 3sec then relax, 10times, twice daily SLR should be done lying straight as well as lying on stomach.

Hi, Apply Rumalaya liniment and massage for 10 mins and give hot water fomentation. This can be done thrice daily. If the pain is severe, take tab. Yogaraja guggulu 1-1-1 with hot water after food. Use soft medium sized pillow while sleeping. Perform neck exercises for 10 mins in the morning and evening regularly.

If bending down is painful try to squat down and pick up any object as that is the correct way to avoid straining your back. You can start with simple exercises like bending backwards from waist, knee to chest exercise. Make changes in your lifestyle and avoid sitting on low chairs and floor during the pain.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

I have lower back pain mainly on the right and the left side of spine. But the pain is not present on the both the sides simultaneously but it switches sometimes from the right side to the left side or vice versa. If today's night it was on the right side then tomorrow it will be on the left side. It all occur due to lifting weights in the gym by doing squats and deadlifts. Could you please tell me the category of pain or injury? Should I do stretching and walking? How much time it will take to recover completely if it recovers completely?

Please take rest from weight lifting/going to gym for some time. Rather a morning walk will be ok. Also do an x-ray of the affected area. Also do hot and cold compress alternately till the time you get relief. Also take Mag Phos - twice daily for next 7 days. There is a muscular stretch it seems. The recovery time depends on your body-immunity. For further queries get back to me.
