Go in for a dental visit and clean up. The gaps may be corrected by ortho (wires/braces) or direct/indirect veneering

The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

I have a problem with my tooth on the left hand side lower jaw, my last tooth root has gone round instead of straight. I met with the dentist and he suggested me to put out the last tooth. Please give me the solution of the problem.

I am assuming you have a problem with your wisdom tooth. If you have a problem with that tooth, usually the best option is to extract. However, if it is another tooth, then extraction is usually done only as a last resort. If you are not sure about the opinion of your dentist, you can always see another dentist, or an Oral Surgeon, for a second opinion.

Dry mouth may result from less salivation in to your mouth because of dehydration, very less jaw movements. It may also result from mouth breathing, that we do unknowingly while sleeping. Drink good amount of water, jaw movements while talking causes salivation. Ask someone to observe you while sleeping. If you have mouth breathing, there are certain appliances to manage it. You can contact for that.

From cavities to crooked teeth, these are some of the most common dental problems that dentists treat every day:

1.Cavities: Also known as tooth decay, cavities are holes in the teeth caused by acids in our mouth. Those acids may come from foods in our diet or when mouth bacteria turns sugars we eat into acids. The treatment for a cavity is a filling. If you have a cavity, don't wait, because they only grow bigger over time!
2.Toothache: A toothache is often caused by cavity that has reached the sensitive root of the tooth. This means the tooth is infected and needs a filling or a root canal. Toothaches can also be caused by teeth grinding, gum disease, a misaligned bite, or accidents that damage the teeth.
3.Gum Disease: Gum disease is a common condition caused by bacterial overgrowth in the mouth. The bacteria make toxins that irritate the gums, leading to redness, swelling, bleeding, and possibly even tooth loss. Good oral hygiene and regular dental visits are key to halting gum disease.
4.Tooth Grinding: Ever wake up with a sore or popping/clicking jaw? You might be grinding your teeth at night. A special night guard?available only through a dentist?can help protect your teeth and ease the jaw pain.
5.Sensitive Teeth: Do cold or hot foods make your teeth hurt? Tooth sensitivity can be helped by using special pain-relieving toothpastes and gels. Fluoride also helps to strengthen the teeth and protect them from pain. If tooth sensitivity is the result of gum disease or cavities, the pain might go away after treatment.
6.Crooked Teeth: If you wish your smile were straighter, you are not alone. Lots of teens and many adults have some kind of orthodontic hardware to help with their smile. If your smile needs some correction, ask your dentist what alternates are available for the correction.
7.Tooth Trauma: Accidents, contact sports, or even biting down on something hard can cause tooth trauma. With tooth trauma, teeth may be broken, knocked loose, or even knocked out completely. Often, your dentist can handle tooth trauma better than the doctors in an emergency ward, so call your dentist before you head over to a hospital.
Next time your chompers are giving you grief, give your dentist a call. It?s good to know that help is just a phone call away!

Instructions to patient's after extraction of tooth.

As a way of protecting the clot that has formed, during the first 24 hours following your extraction, you should ...

1. Avoid vigorous rinsing or spitting. These activities may dislodge the clot.
Stay away from hot liquids (soup, coffee) because they tend to dissolve blood clots.

2. Minimize air pressure differences.
You should also avoid creating air pressure variations in your mouth, or pressure differences between your mouth and your sinuses (in the case of an upper tooth extraction) because these events may dislodge the blood clot from its socket.

This means you should avoid smoking or using a straw (these activities create suction). Also, don't blow your nose. And if you need to sneeze, sneeze with your mouth open.

Hi, Please do mention your age next time when you have a querry the reason you had two long front teeth is coz of excess bone loss which causes your gums to go down.Giving the impression that teeth have become long. The acrylic teeth replacement is one of the choice to replace the teeth provided they are removable and not fixed .If they are fixed taking support from adjacent teeth that is a quackery. In my humble opinion. You better get it removed as soon as possible and think of other alternatives to replace the missing teeth like.Dental implants.Fixed partial dentures .Also need to get your gums healthy by visiting a periodontist before getting anything else done.Hope this helps.Cheers

Gum diseases can be treated and reversed in their initial stages very easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

Hello Lybrate User, Bad breath is also known as Halitosis, foul smelling odor that seems to come from the mouth cavity. Dry mouth, certain foods such as Onion and garlic because they contain smelly sulfur compounds., poor dental hygiene are few causes of bad breath. Self care technique can help to minimize bad breath, these techniques are as follows - * use oral care products, like mouthwashes and toothpastes. * proper oral care, brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and use fluoride toothpaste. * stimulate your salivary flow - prevent dry mouth with chewing gum or mints. * eat fibrous fruits and vegetables. * Brush your teeth occasionally with baking soda. * stop smoking. * Drink plenty of water. * Take a dietary supplement - Vitamin C, D, E and B help to eliminate excess mucus and toxins naturally. * Avoid alcohol. i. Clean your tongue daily. Along with that take Homeopathic treatment, the natural homeopathic remedies for bad breath, which are completely safe and no side effects. Homeopathic remedies provide a permanent treatment for bad breath. For homeopathic treatment consult me on lybrate privately. Take care.

Lately, I've been having the problem of vomiting while brushing teeth. It happens only when toothpaste is used. I was told that people with gastric problem usually face this issue. I've have no stomach issues like gastric or any other pains internally in the stomach. I would like to get some information on what the problem would be and your advice on how to deal with this issue. Thank You!

Lately, I've been having the problem of vomiting while brushing teeth. It happens only when toothpaste is used. I was...
The vomit sensation you are talking about is known as Gag Reflex. It is a protective mechanism of the human body to avoid the entrance of any unwanted material down the throat. In your case, you are experiencing the reflex while brushing, that means your brushing pattern might be wrong. You are taking your brush to much deeper areas than required. Also, you might not be cleaning your tongue properly. Visit your dentist and ask him about some correct brushing patterns and start using a tongue cleaner. Whenever you experience gag try to focus on some other activity or object, such as your big toe. It diverts you and thus the gag stops. Avoid mouth breathing, that increases the gag. If the problem persists even after changing your brushing/cleaning pattern and avoiding mouth breathing there is more to it. Pay a visit to both your dentist and gasteroenterologist.

Adult orthodontics is also successful nowadays. But your teeth should be firm and should not have any gingival problem for braces treatment.
