Sometime. Mah vision get negative n then I get blind for few seconds. N den came back. Pls help m.
It almost occurs to everyone in some part of their life.Although it can be due to no.of reasons but few important ones are----- 1.Orthostatic hypertension------ie. sudden increase in BP when standing. 2.Sometimes for a fraction of second there occurs disrupted circulation to the part of brain controlling eyes, sometimes may lead to total blankness for fraction of second. 3.Stress can be another factor in which our brain reaches a zero point for a fraction of second leading to total blindness. There is no any solution to this problem but if this problem occurs off and on ,then it is a thing of real concern and then you should undergo proper investigations regarding your Heart and Brain. But till the relax and lead a stressfree life and daily drink 6-8 glass water and lots of fluids.Avoid Junk and fried food esp. in winters.

I am having floaters which is very annoying heard of laser floater removal. Is it performed anywhere in india?
You are just 21 so do not take stress. Over a period of time floaters reduces in size and becomes less annoying. YAG laser can treat your problem but unfortunately in india success rate is low though many self proclaimed specialist can perform it. Now you know the risk so do a thorough study before accepting the treatment.

Dear lybrate user, red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power

I have fever from some time & have pain in whole body or headache. And also pain in eyes.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology

I have fever from some time & have pain in whole body or headache.
And also pain in eyes.
Pain in the eyes and headache may have multiple causes associated with it. There are a few points you need to look at before jumping to any conclusions. Have you undergone an eye check up previously? Is there any history of raised pressure in your eyes? Do you have anybody in your family having raised eye pressure? Do you suffer from recurrent cold, fever, cough, etc? Do you have a lot of work/ study related stress? Do you use glasses? The reason for asking all these questions is that headache and eye pain may occur due to various reasons ranging from change in glasses, sinusitis, migraine, glaucoma, tension, blood pressure and so on. The list is long. it would be a good idea to have a look at your eyes. This would help in coming to a decision whether your eye pain and headache is due to an eye problem. If you could use the video facility provided by lybrate and get in touch, I could probably guide you more accurately as to provide relief to your symptoms. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. regards. Dr. Chaitanya.

I have glaucoma in my eye's past 9 yeas and lost my side vision. I am 40 year old any treatment for this?

MD - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist,
For glaucoma once field loss is thrrr , this cannot be recovered. Treatment depends on various factors like intra ocular pressure, disc status snd visual fields. In early stages it would be medical therapy (eye drops) , in late stages it eould be surgery. Most important thing to note is aim of treatment is to preserve the present vision and visual fields and one should regularly consult your ophthslmologist to look into abovee factors.

General Physician,
Hello sir, Please tell me if heat mask or cold mask help glaucoma patient? Thank you doc.
A warm compress can be really beneficial for giving yourself some relief from irritation, dryness, and redness in the eyes. There are a lot of reasons why your eyes may feel like that, including allergies, blepharitis, a sty, rosacea, dermatitis, conjunctivitis, sinusitis, viral infections, bacterial infections, wearing contact lenses, or even just tiredness. Hence, while a warm compress may provide you with relief, it is important that you do get your eyes checked out as well, to rule out the need for any prescription medication.

I have high myopia and using contact lens of -9D. What is the permanent solution of this problem?
Glasses and contact lenses are the non surgical method to enjoy good vision. If you do not want both, then there are two options, LASIK surgery or implantable contact lens. Your eye specialist will be able to tell you once he does some investigations and scans.

Hey Sir/Mam my eye sight is weak please give me some good or new tips to correct my eye sight or any medicine?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hey Sir/Mam my eye sight is weak please give me some good or new tips to correct my eye sight or any medicine?
Hello, Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Hi lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye trouble. The high number in your left eye has caused it to become lazy. It is known as amblyopia or" lazy eye" this is probably the reason for your squinting as well. There are certain options available for you. Regarding the squint, it can be rectified for cosmetic purposes but there is a chance of the eye getting a squint again after surgery. There is no contraindication to doing a computer job. There is a chance though that you may not be able to focus properly due to your squint. Still, I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. You could consider preservative free lubricant eye drops 4 to 5 times daily. These eye drops would ensure that your eyes stay well lubricated and fresh. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. You could also use a preservative free lubricant eye drop 4 to 5 times in a day. Also, adequate sleep of 7 hours a day is essential in order to maintain healthy eyes. For further queries, it would be a better idea to do a video consultation or audio consultation via lybrate.

LASIK is quite safe with the newer technologies making it one of the the most common surgeries performed worldwide. However, as with anything in life , nothing can be guaranteed. Common side effects after lasik include dryness of the eyes and itchy sensations
