Hello sir, I am 23 year old and I want to know about what causes bleeding between periods?

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda, Gulbarga
There are many possible causes of heavy menstrual bleeding, including hormonal imbalance in the body, fibroids or noncancerous tumors of the uterus, uterine polyps, miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, use of blood thinners and a side effect of using an intrauterine device (iud) for birth control. It can also happen due to medical conditions like adenomyosis, pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) and other conditions that can prevent normal blood clotting. Heavy menstruation can affect your daily activities, as well as your emotional state and social life. Moreover, it can cause serious health problems like iron-deficiency anemia blackstrap molasses is another effective remedy to control heavy bleeding. Being rich in iron, it aids in the production of red blood cells and may help regulate the amount of blood lost during menstruation. In addition, it helps reduce blood clots and soothe the muscles of the uterine walls to reduce pain? add 1 to 2 teaspoons of blackstrap molasses to a cup of warm water or milk. Drink it once daily? another option is to add tablespoon of blackstrap molasses to a glass of lemongrass tea. Drink it once in the morning and once at night before going to bed. Follow either of these remedies for a few months to notice improvement in your condition.

A-around 15% of pregnancies gets miscarried, that is nature's rule. You should avoid next pregnancy for 6 months from the last abortion. Chances of repeat abortion or pretem delivery increases if one becomes pregnant within 6 months of miscarriage. Also if abortion/ miscarriage was caused by any viral infection, then it will get cured automatically within 3 months time. Use contraception for 1 more months. Then only plan for pregnancy and then if you do not get pregnant within 6 months of that then only you need treatment.

I guess you must be under care of a gynecologist in this pregnancy. I hope you have communicated to her about the travel plans and the modes. It is safest to travel between 3-6 months of pregnancy. But many ladies travel from in laws place to mother's place at 7th or 9th month too. So you are not alone. There is no harm in travelling by air, but train travel is relatively more safer, though slower. If you travel by air, do the following: if you feel you can not fit in the routine plane chair, book a business class seat, or travel in the chairs that are easy to get off and get in,(esp those by the plane gates) during travel, keep your seatbelts on almost all times when seated. Drink plenty of water. Some women do not like the air conditioning of planes and tend to get cramps, to avoid this, use a shawl and keep moving your foot up and down, in and out to exercise the calf muscles and to promote circulation. Wear socks on your feet to keep them warm and if the need be, and airport if huge, then ask for" wheelchair" to get you from check in to the plane. Eat only light meals before journey keep eating fruits, or take fruit juices or water every now and then to keep hydrated do visit the bathroom to relieve yourself in the travel from time to time. Eat homemade food and avoid snacking as fried snacks cause more nausea. If you are the kind who has nausea during travel, take anti emetics from your doctor, and use them before and during journey you may ask your gynec to prescribe some" uterine relaxant" tablets to tide over the travel period and a day or two before and after the travel, so as to prevent any untoward incident. Do dress in light comfortable clothes during travel, avoid any jeans, or tight dresses, or tight foot wear. Wear canvas shoes. Or open chappals.

Hi, Your mother will require the surgery of removal of the ovaries, uterus and tunes if they suspect cancer. And when they remove they will do histopathological examination of the tissues and also what all the adjacent organs involved. Depending on the staging, grading and HPE report further chemotherapy will be advised. If it is only a doubt that the cyst may be can c er then first a biopsy and then depending on the report surgery can be planned. Please go to a surgical hospital with oncology department.

My wife has been gaining weight after her second delivery, so how can I control her weight by taking systematic diet....
To lose weight, you have to maintain an input-output ratio. Whatever food you eat contains the input calories which gives you the output calories in the form of energy. If your input calories is too much, you are likely to put on weight. The best way to lose weight is to exercise or spend the additional calories accumulated in your body in the form of fat. The other most important thing is to eat wisely. Try to cut down the excessive calories you are eating and make sure whatever you eat is healthy. Some tips to lose weight - 1. Have more fruits and vegetables than junk food and juices. 2. Avoid sugar as much as you can 3. Exercise 3-4 times a week. 4. Have an early dinner, preferably before 8 p. M. 5. Do not starve yourself. Eat small meals 5 times a day. 6. Have barley soup in dinner and avoid rice at night. 7. Drink lots of water daily.

Hi, it might be because of implantation bleeding, which usually occurs this time. If ultrasound report is normal then just relax. Continue with whatever tablet your doctor has prescribed.

As you r already suffering from pcod and both of you stay together only for 2-3 days, which has very less chance getting pregnant. You need to go for iui treatment with ovulation induction to increase your chance of getting pregnant. As this time you already had menses you can't be pregnant. If you r not sure then you can get urine pregnancy test done.

PCOD - How it Affects You?

MD, MBBS, Advanced Infertility
Gynaecologist, Jalandhar
PCOD - How it Affects You?

PCOD or polycystic Ovary Disorder is one of the most common disorders of hormones among women in the age of reproduction. It is yet not discovered why some women become susceptible to this disease and it is believed to be a genetic disorder. The word “polycystic” refers to multiple cysts and a woman suffering from PCOD has multiple cysts in her ovary. This is due to the imbalance of hormones, which don’t allow the ovary to release eggs every month and these numerous unreleased eggs present in the ovary cause it to become polycystic.

What are the symptoms of PCOD?
The regular release of eggs from the ovaries directs a woman’s fertility and allows her to have a normal menstrual cycle. Therefore, women with PCOD face difficulty in conceiving along with irregular, low and absent periods. Some of the most common symptoms of PCOD include infertility and even miscarriage, elevated insulin levels, high blood pressure, diabetes, acne, unhealthy weight gain and obesity. It also leads to loss of hair from the scalp and excessive growth of hair on the body. This is due to over production of male hormones that lead to male pattern of growth of hair, such as on chest, cheek, chin and inner thighs. The hormonal imbalance leads to weight gain and obesity makes the hormonal imbalance even worse, turning it into a vicious cycle.

How is PCOD diagnosed and treated?
Your gynaecologist would be able to determine whether you have PCOD by checking your symptoms. Then she would recommend you to do a few blood tests along with a pelvic ultrasound scan to confirm whether you have PCOD. Though this disease is not reversible, its symptoms may be reduced or minimised. Most women can lead a trouble-free and healthy life if they take proper precautions at the right time.

It has been pointed in several studies that reduction in weight can help in the improvement of most PCOD symptoms because fat contributes to the production of certain hormones. Your doctor will prepare a treatment plan depending on the aspect from which you are suffering. For instance, if you are suffering from irregular periods, your doctor may prescribe you some contraceptives which can help in restoring normal menstrual cycle. But this treatment is definitely unsuitable for those who are trying to conceive. The infrequent and irregular ovulation can make it difficult to conceive and it can be artificially induced with the aid of medications. So, you must consult a gynaecologist to help your situation.
