1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed.

I ave a serious problem about nose. Bleeding happen continuously. Within 5-7 days. What is d solution for this?

MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Delhi
Bleeding from nose happens either due to dryness and crusting in the nose or maybe due to other illnesses with medical problem. Generally people of your age have a habit of excessively cleaning their noses with finger or tissue, this leads to erosion of the crust or fine lining of the nose and thus bleeding. If this is the case, then please keep your nose lubricated with some vaseline, cream etc and do not manipulate your nose. If this is not the case, you need to see an ent consult.

You maybe suffering from allergic rhinitis and pharyngitis. You need to avoid the cause of your allergies and also take anti allergy medications. Please consult for prescription. If you have an infection and have fever you will need to do a course of antibiotics. For now do warm saline gargle and steam inhalation 3 times a day.

Is Bluetooth earphones (wireless) are harmful than normal earphones? Please reply.

BHMS

Is Bluetooth earphones (wireless) are harmful than normal earphones? Please reply.
There are two issues here - one is the radiation that is emitted. Second is the decibel level at which one uses the head phones. All standard branded models of cellphones have specifications written on them (on the Manual). So it can be safe if you are using a good cellphone which adheres to the standards. It would still be wise to use the cellphone sparingly or as it is needed and avoid radiations. The headphone should not be used for long intervals of time as it came be harmful in the long run. (The incidence of ear infections may be high and also hearing loss may be another risk) Use it at a minimum audible level. Use speake phone when possible.

Hi, Thanks for your question on Lybrate I do understand your concern As per your clinical history is concerned you have meniere'sdisease so you may follow like this -: 1)you can take meclizine for vertigo sensation 2)if regurgitating present then [promethazine] can be integrated 3)if you have history of fluid retention then diuretic amalgamation like trimterene+hydrochlorothiazide] should be integrated 4)take potassium -affluent foods like bananas, oranges, spinach, and sweat potatoes 5)Boil four basil leaves in one cup of milk.Inhale the smell and drink this salubrious tonic daily afore going to bed.Do this for at least a few weeks. 6)If conservative method fails then last option is surgical Hope that helps

First let's find out what the diagnosis is. See an ENT for a laryngoscopy and a Gastroenterologist for an upper GI endoscopy. There is no treatment without making the diagnosis clear.

Considering you duration of symptoms rhe most helpful treatment plan would be to get a CT scan of paranasal sinuses followed by endoscopic surgery to remove the polyps. Consult with any ENT SPECIALIST for more details. Hope this helps.
