Moderation should be the mantra. Doing more exercises can harm the body. A balance has to be created between good diet with more proteins, heart friendly diet & exercise, workouts, treadmill or simple walks which are meditative also. Listen to your body, as it sends signals when body is over tired. All the best.

I am 39. I take telsartan active 40 and roseday 5 every night. I was 106 kgs a few months back but now have reduced to 90 kgs. I walk regularly for an hour daily. I do consume liquor regularly and smoke 2 to 3 cigarettes a day. I am constantly worried about my cardiac health. Always worried about my heart. I have a lot of health anxiety. How do I get rid of this stress?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
HI you need to plan your meals well. Eat smaller meals at frequent intervals. Reduce your meals but avoid long gaps between meals and/or heavy meals. Avoid outside, junk foods. Exercise whenever you get the opportunity or at least3-4times a week. This will ensure at least some more weight loss. Leave drinking and smoking. Lastly. Be commited.

Is there any difference between heart beat and pulse rate? Many times I feel my heart is pounding too fast but pulse rate is not that much?

Is there any difference between heart beat and pulse rate?
Many times I feel my heart is pounding too fast but pulse ...
Mainly due to anxiety, exercise, stress that you feel like your heart is beating loudly but it does not mean pulse rate will increase as its measure of your heart rate. When the amount/volume of blood pumped out is more then it can feel like pounding too.

Warm water - a simple side effect free time tested remedy for weight loss. Have 2 liters of warm water in a day. My patients lose 4 to 5 kilograms in a span of two to three with just warm water! regarding blood and your heart beat I think these two are related as you are anemic. Dates, figs, raisins, sesame - these are natural sources of iron. Have any one of these daily. Also it is important that you consult a doctor to check your blood pressure and other vital parameters as soon as possible.
