Hye, Thanks for the query. Poor nutrition can lead to deficiency and consequently lack of energy, stamina and concentration. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: Eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals.Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Lymph node enlargement can be due to many reasons like infective (tubercular/other bacterial infection) and as a part and parcel of tumor in the body (may be of lymph node itself or metastasis from other body organs). There are many diagnostic modalities available to find out the underlying cause like complete blood count, peripheral blood smear, chest xray, ultrasound and very important Fnac (fine needle aspiration cytology) and biopsy. At Least he should get Fnac done and then send the report.

Chapped or dry lips are a common problem that can be painful and unattractive. Common symptoms are dryness, redness, cracking, flaking, and tender or sore lips.Some of the main causes are vitamin deficiency, allergic reaction, dehydration, smoking, excessive licking of lips, sun exposure and harsh weather. Castor oil is good treatment for dry and chapped lips. • Simply apply castor oil to your lips several times a day. • You can also make a soothing treatment using one teaspoon of castor oil, one teaspoon of glycerin and a few drops of fresh lemon juice. Mix it well and apply it on your lips before going to bed. In the morning, wash it off with a cotton ball dipped in lukewarm water. Hello there, I think the condition you are talking about is calcaneal spur. Usually it pains in heel while standing suddenly after a long time sitting, and in morning immediately after getting up. Physiotherapy helps best with this condition, 8 to 10 sessions of ultrasound therapy and some stretching exercises prescribed by a qualified physiotherapist will cure this. So in my opinion without wasting much time, please visit a physiotherapist asap. Thank you. And feel free to ask any doubts.

I have neck and back pain for over 1 month. What should i do?

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Mr, if one has diabetes mellitus, then treatment with appropriate drugs is necessary for life time. There is no way to control raised blood sugar with out taking any anti - diabetes drugs. Life style changes are required to support the drug treatment. Thanks.

If you're on a diet, you're probably already working out a couple of times a week. (No? Well, you should start!) But whether you exercise or not, you can get a leg up on all those other weight-loss wannabes by doing a little something extra each day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator; walk to the bus, train, or all the way to the office; window-shop with your best friend rather than sit over coffee. Taking the dog out, gardening and even housecleaning all increase the number of calories you expend. You don't have to go for a jog (although that would help!) to speed up weight loss. Twenty minutes of moderate exercise a day means you'll burn approximately 700 calories.

1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed.

HI…reason behind obesity is decreased BMR (BASAL METABOLIC RATE), 1) so question is HOW BMR DECREASED…. BMR is mainly depends upon functions of LIVER, THYROID, PANCREASE, and PITUITORY GLAND, A) hypo- functions of these organs reduces BMR and body becomes obese, B) hyper- functions of these organs increases BMR and body becomes lean, C) so if you want to reduce weight then we have to increase BMR, D) so to increase BMR follow few basic things, 1) take solid food two times in a day only, 2) try to take diet which is easy to digest and according to quantity of hunger, 3) eat those fruits only which increases power of digestion and which easily digests LIKE…grapes, pappya, orange, pomgrenate, sweet lime, pineapple, watermelon, muskmelon, strawberry, mulberry, 4) strictly avoid fruits which are hard to digests like banana, guava, custardapple, chiku, jackfruit, 5) Try to take soups of green gram, lentil, horse gram, 6) try to take meals inbetween 10 am to 9 pm, 7) when you take meal do not eat anything for minimum 4 hours…. Take belladona 1m 3 doses. And rawolfia 15 drops daily in luke water bed time. With this use olive oil for cooking, low salt diet, avoid fatty food, sugary thing, and eat fiber diet. And do regular exercise.
