Taking the Birth Control Pill Take ONE PILL EVERY DAY AT THE SAME TIME for as long as you don’t want to become pregnant. Take the pills from left to right. When you get to the placebo pills at the end of the package, continue to take them the same way. When you take the last pill in the package, start a new package the very next day. As long as you do this, you are protected from pregnancy for the entire month. How do I start my pills? There are three different ways to start taking birth control pills. First Day of Period Start: Start your pills on the first day of your period. Continue to take one pill every day at the same time. With this method, you do not need to use a backup method as the pills are effective in preventing pregnancy right away. Quick Start: Take your first pill today at a good time for you. Continue to take one pill every day at the same time. With this method, you need to use backup pregnancy protection (such as condoms or abstinence) for at least 7 days. Sunday Start: Take your first pill on the first Sunday following the start of your period. If your period starts on a Sunday, start your pill that day. Continue to take one pill every day at the same time. With this method, you need to use backup pregnancy protection (such as condoms or abstinence) for at least 7 days. What if I miss a period while using birth control pills? It is not unusual to occasionally skip a period completely while using the pill. Remember, pills can make your flow lighter so even a very small amount of blood is considered a period. If you do miss a period (and you have no signs of pregnancy), continue with your next pack of pills on schedule. If you miss another period the next month, continue with your pills but go to a clinic or your doctor and have a pregnancy test done. Pills are not known to harm an early pregnancy. What if I miss taking a pill for one day, or take it late? Consider using a backup method such as condoms or you could abstain (not have sex) for the first 7 days after you missed the pill. Take one pill as soon as you remember and your regular pill at the usual time (you may be taking 2 pills on the same day: one at the time you remember and the other at your regular time). What if I miss taking more than one pill? If you miss more than one pill, what to do depends on how much estrogen (one of the hormones) is in your type of birth control pill. Use a backup method such as condoms or abstinence and consider using emergency contraception emergency contraceptive pill CAN BE GIVEN WITH IN 72 HOURS AFTER SEX.

There should not be any bleeding during pregnancy. It is serious problem. You should consult a good gynaecologist for this.

How to Prepare for an Appendectomy (appendix surgery)

How to Prepare for an Appendectomy (appendix surgery)

How to prepare for an appendectomy

Appendectomy is the medical term for the surgery that is performed to remove the inflamed appendix (a condition that is known as appendicitis). This surgical treatment is mostly performed on an emergency basis.

But before you move on to know how to prepare for the surgery, it's important why it is important to get a surgery for appendicitis done?

What exactly is appendicitis?

Appendicitis is a medical condition in which the appendix (that is the worm-shaped projection which arises out of the beginning of the colon) gets inflamed.

The major cause of appendicitis is that the tissues of the appendix become infected with bacterial action that results in the formation of pus in the lumen (opening) of the appendix. Factors that can trigger bacterial infection are a hard stool, attack by a foreign body, and accumulation of thick mucus in the appendix tissues among others.

Appendicitis results in aching and acute pain in the abdominal region of the affected person. In many people, it is accompanied by complications like vomiting, nausea, fever, loss of appetite, constipation, abdominal swelling etc. In more severe cases, it is accompanied by diarrhoea.

Appendicitis usually requires an emergency surgery. However, there are some things you need to do before going for the surgery.

Preparations to undertake before surgery

In most cases, appendectomy is an emergency surgery so there are hardly any preparations that a patient can make. The most common preparatory measure that your surgeon may prescribe includes not eating anything up till a few hours before the surgery. Apart from that, certain medications may be prescribed to eliminate or at best reduce the symptoms of nausea and vomiting. There are no other preparations as such that you can undertake before appendectomy.

Recovery period

The recovery time is subjective as it depends on the type of procedure used for the surgery, the type of anaesthesia and the various complications associated with your condition. In general cases, the patients can recover within 12 hours of the surgery. However, it takes approximately 4-6 weeks for a person to resume a normal lifestyle after an appendectomy.

'consult'.

I have been diagnosed with pcod one year back (Feb 2017), I visited gyno and she suggested me to reduce stress and do some physical activities And I tried to follow the instructions by playing sports. Due to pcod I gained around 8-9 kgs very quickly and I am unable to reduce my weight for more than 1-2 kgs. I did my thyroid test n hemoglobin level test and everything was normal. Few months back I got my periods without any tablets but from Nov 2017 my periods started to skip again. During Nov-dec I was eating mostly at restaurants. And from Feb I have been trying to follow a health diet and still I didn't have my periods. Please let me know if their is anything to be done to reverse the pcod permanently.

Healthy Penis Friend: Probiotics

Healthy Penis Friend: Probiotics

Healthy Penis Friend: Probiotics

Ah, having a healthy penis is a wonderful thing for a man! When the penis looks good and feels good, a guy feels great all over, with an extra spring in his step and a definite gleam in his eye. Taking necessary steps to ensure good penis health is well worth it. In addition to paying attention to penis hygiene, checking for signs of problems, etc., guys might consider another option which can help make for a healthy penis: taking probiotics.

Probiotics?

Most people know about antibiotics, but what are probiotics? They are microorganisms found in many food products and can provide health benefits of various kinds. Although the term "probiotics" is relatively new, the microorganisms themselves were more-or-less discovered back in the early 1900s by Elie Metchnikoff. This Nobel Prize-winner didn't identify the microorganisms themselves, but he did make note of how peasants in Bulgaria who ate a lot of yogurt tended to live longer than other people.

While the scientific community disagrees on exactly how beneficial these microbes are - rigorous scientific studies need to be conducted to provide a greater standard of evidence - there is general agreement that they can help boost a person's health in a number of ways. And several of those ways can be of aid in a man's search for a healthy penis.

Benefits

Because probiotics are consumed and go to work in the gut, the most likely benefits are gastrointestinal. This can have a side benefit in terms of a healthy penis, as a healthy tummy makes a man more likely to feel like having sex, and more sex keeps the penis in better health.

But more directly, some studies indicate probiotics can help improve skin health, including the skin of the penis. Probiotics are thought to help fight inflammation. Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, both of which can attack the penis, have a basis in inflammation.

Another healthy penis benefit: Probiotics help keep cortisol levels down. Cortisol is a stress hormone, and when cortisol is high, testosterone levels tend to be low. So dampening cortisol should help boost testosterone. In turn, testosterone is associated with sex drive; in general, the more testosterone a man has, the more "in the mood" he is likely to feel. (Some people believe that testosterone also increases the size of testicles, but there is little research to support this claim.)

Cardiac function may also benefit from probiotics, and that's good news for the penis. Animal studies suggest that probiotics may help keep some plaque from arteries, which boosts the flow of oxygen-rich blood around the body. They also indicate probiotics may play a role in regulating cholesterol, which keeps the heart healthier. All of this means the penis is in a better position to receive and accommodate greater blood flow, which it can use during the erectile process.

And there may be other benefits, as well. For example, some doctors believe that probiotics can lower anxiety and improve moods, both of which make a man feel more prepped and ready for sex. And there is a possibility that probiotics can help boost immune function, keeping a man in overall better health, which subsequently betters his penis health as well.

Sources

So how does a guy get probiotics? There are many foods that are good sources, such as yogurt, fermented cheese, lassi, sauerkraut, dark chocolate, and pickles. There also are probiotic supplements. But before delving in, it pays to consult with a doctor to discuss any dietary changes.

There's much more that has to be learned about probiotics and a healthy penis, so in the meantime, regularly use a first rate penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Find a crème with both L-arginine and L-carnitine. The first ingredient helps keep penile blood vessels open for increased blood flow, while the second helps maintain penis sensation that can be lost due to peripheral nerve damage.

Wait for the next periods. All contraceptives have failure rates. If you don't get periods do a strip test for pregnancy, if positive consult a gyne. All the best.
