Sir, my age is 18 I have ringworm on different parts of my body on hand, leg and between thighs. I applied clotrimazole and betamethosone on infected area, also I ate fluncanzole tablets. These medicines work but after some days it appears on the same spot again and again. Sir tell me any good cure for it.

Firstly you should try to keep all your affected areas as dry as possible, because moisture and wet areas favour growth of fungi. Main cause for recurrence of fungal infection could be use of steroid creams such as betamethasone. Steroids cause increase in fungal infection and they should be strictly avoided. Instead try sebifin cream twice daily for 2 weeks along with tab fluconazole 150 mg. For detailed management kindly visit me at private consultation.

Weight Loss - An Up-Hill Task That Can Take You Places

Weight Loss - An Up-Hill Task That Can Take You Places

Fitness or weight-loss is not just about looking good or fitting into your favourite outfit, it goes way beyond it. It speaks about you. It shows how much you love your body and shows amount of self-discipline you have imbibed in your lifestyle.

A lot of people complain that they do not have time to exercise and eat healthy. It's important to remember that, if you do not find time for health and fitness now, you will have to find time for illness later. Though, it is true that weight issues are uncomfortable to deal with, it is also important to understand that when weight problems go untreated or ignored, they may become a breeding ground for a lot of other problems such as hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and other lifestyle diseases. Therefore, to ensure a healthy body, it is imperative to manage body weight and find time to exercise regularly.

Getting rid of excessive weight: There are two pillars for weight loss. Diet and exercise. A well balanced diet can control further weight gain and assure overall health, exercise is must for weight reduction. 30 mins walk (to start with), with well-balanced diet (depending on your health condition) can lead to gradual and healthy weight loss.

There are a number of things that can be done to shed off extra kilos and get back into shape. Here are the most important ones:

Get on a healthy diet as soon as possible: Weight loss is a metabolic process, and body needs carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins and water to execute this process. Dieting or eating less will deprive the body from many of these essential nutrients. So forget weight loss, body won't be able to even function properly. As a result, there can be deficiencies, weakened immune system, tiredness and many more undesirable symptoms. For guidance on healthy diet, seek help of a weight loss consultant or nutritionist.

Working out: This is the second pillar for weight loss. Your choice of exercise may be a brisk walk, jogging, joining dance lessons or hitting a gym. Make sure that the exercise regime you choose, is challenging for your body. Toughen the regime as you start getting comfortable with it.

Be persistent: It is important to be regular and diligent with your diet and exercise regime. Self-discipline will take you a long way. Make sure you enjoy your food and exercise, this way you will be able to carry on for a longer duration. While all the aspects of losing weight are important at some point in the process, the most important part is to have an expert by your side who will provide correct counselling and a personalized diet and exercise plan, specifically to meet your needs. When you choose the best doctors and dietitians to help you, you will get there sooner than you can imagine.

You can consult General physician for physical examination. At the age of 60 our body demands some change in food habit and lifestyle. Its very necessary to follow healthy routine and you should take balance diet so that body requirement should be fulfilled .as your weight is perfect so you need to carry the same .i am giving you few suggestions, please follow it you will see the difference ,eat at regular interval, go for walk morning and evening, do yoga, don't eat very high protein rich diet in large amount although you can take little bit ,it is because at 50 -60 age higher protein content increases the uric acid level and it causes pain in joints, now a days knee pain is more common ,prefer to include more fruits and vegetables ,i am not giving the list of what to eat and what not because patients generally feel burden .so in general increase in your diet seasonal green fruits, vegetables, salad ,mixed flour of maize, bajra, chana, eat fruits instead of juice as many studies have proven that our body absorbs minerals and vitamins more when we eat fruits. Avoid fat or ghee containing substance and use different types of refined oil such as for some times sunflower oil, for some time mustard oil, avoid taking dalda and ghee as per as WHO direction it increases cholesterol level. Eat healthy live healthy. For further detail plan you can contact me. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Hii lybrate-user. I think (1) you should take more fatty or starchy foods (2) take bigger plate. If you do exercise and not taking enough food then it could occur (3) take dry fruits whenever wants (4) take weight gainer shake (5) take milk shake (6) 3-4 banana each day (7) take extra chicken, egg, butter, cheese, almond, peanut, starchy foods etc (8) do muscle building exercises.

Hye. Thankyou for the query. There is no single food or tonic that helps in isolation. Each natural food when taken at the right time and right amount as needed by the body will help. Banking on a particular food to single handedly work to manage all the toxins in the body is not right. Keep your basic diet and lifestyle healthy and then try to include certain foods at the right time and amount if needed.
