stop gym for 4 days & Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. if pain reduced then its due to improper technique. if persist do X-RAY . avoid oily spicy food. no junk food .

Taking Care of Your Joints as You Age

Skin is one of the most obvious parts of our body, which ages with an increase in the number of candles on our birthday cake. As you age, joints tend to become stiffer and less flexible. The body does not recover from bumps and bruises as easily as it did before, and it becomes difficult to stand for extended time intervals. This is caused mostly by a breakdown of cartilage and inflammation of the synovium.

What is cartilage?
Cartilage is a flexible connective tissue. It connects the ends of two bones in a joint. It is softer than bone tissue but less flexible than muscle tissue. Cartilage is responsible for the smooth movement of joints. 
With age, cartilage begins to degenerate. As the cartilage gets thinner, movement becomes more and more difficult. If left untreated, the cartilage may completely wear off leaving no buffer between the bones. This is one of the leading causes of knee replacement surgery. 

What is synovium?
Synovium is a membrane responsible for keeping the cartilage healthy. It produces a thick fluid that keeps the cartilage and joint lubricated. In cases of osteoarthritis, this membrane can swell up and produce excess fluid. This in turn causes the joint to swell as well. 

Along with age, factors like being overweight, genetics, gender and lifestyle also play a role in the condition of your joints. Being obese point towards a sedentary lifestyle and puts extra pressure on joints, leading to the thinning of cartilage. While men have higher chances of becoming osteoarthritis patients before 45, women have higher chances of developing this disease after 50. A healthy lifestyle is the easiest way to ensure that your joints work well even when you're old and grey. 

Exercise
Movement of the joints keeps the fluid in them moving. It also prevents the cartilage from shrinking and stiffening up. Exercise also makes the bones stronger, and slows the rate of bone tissue deterioration. Stretching exercises are also a good way to maintain the flexibility of joints. 

Healthy diet
Foods that are known as natural antihistamines, antioxidants and foods that fight inflammation promote healthy joints. Some of these are:

  1. Green tea: It prevents the breakdown of collagen and cartilage
  2. Nuts and seeds: These are rich in omega 3 fats that are essential for good bone health
  3. Ginger: It relieves pain and joint swelling
  4. Yogurt: It helps soothe tender joints and fights inflammation
  5. Pomegranate: It protects the cartilage against damage

Hot and cold therapy can also help relieve joint pain and reduce inflammation. As you get older, avoid putting too much pressure on your joints and give them adequate rest. Lastly, avoid smoking, as people who smoke have an increased risk of cartilage loss.

Kindly avoid standing for long hrs, lifting heavy weight, and give rest to your back. Take adree shacharadi kwatham, 3 tsf in half a glass of warm water, 2 times a day. Take panchamruta loha guggal, 2 tabs with dashamoolajeerakarishtam, 3 tsf in half a glass of warm water, twice a day, after meals. Take ashwagandha powder, 1 tsf in half a glass of warm milk, twice a day, 1 hr after meals. Do massage with mahanarayana oil over back upto your ankles daily once a day. Warm the oil for best results. Contact some ayurveda panchakarma specialist for basti and kati basti. Continue the regime for 45 days. Avoid cold eatables and cold water in your diet. Stay in touch, good luck.

Condition is known was Plantar Fascitis. Start wearing silicone heel pads in your shoes. Don't wear Sandals/loafers, wear only good quality sports shoes with heel pads. Rest you can consult physio and get Ultrasound Therapy or Laser Therapy done. You need to learn stretching Exercises. Don't stand for too long I hope I helped you.

Hi My wife is suffering from bronchitis. She stays in port blair. She have diagnosed in allopathy however that gives temp relief. She stopped allopathy then and tried homeopathy and ayurvedic. It is most likely bronchial asthma due to allergens in the air. She seems to be allergic to the pollens or dust in port blair. Either she has to move out from there to another city like bangalore or take inhalers regularly to control the symptoms. In any case consultation with a good pulmonologist should help.

Morning stiffness is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take bio d3 max 1tab odx10days ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

First need to understand whether the joint pain is localised or due to some systemic disease like rheumatic arthritis, gout. Only the cause will help determine the course of action. Omega 3 fatty foods is known to reduce the inflammation of joints.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Left untreated, infection can spread, causing abscess, bone loss, and other serious problems. • If you have a crack in your tooth that extends below the gum line, your tooth is no longer treatable, and the tooth won’t be able to be saved. You will need a tooth extraction, which means your tooth will need to be pulled. And then, you can get a artificial tooth like dental implant/FPD/RPD to replace your natural tooth.
