Hello Keerthana , Shampoo can't change the hair colour . It is mostly due to depleted production of melanin pigment caused by certain internal changes. You can use castor oil mixed with coconut oil . Castor oil will keep your hair thick and black. For proper diagnosis and treatment you can consult me . Regards, Dr. Heena

Chronic pain in the region of tail bone is called as coccydynia, can you specify whether there was any history of previous injury to tail bone area? you can start with sitz bath, use soft cushioned surfaces for sitting, now a days coccydynia seats are available which take the pressure off from the inflamed area, use gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine, or tab paracetamol for pain relief. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance or if your pain is not getting relieved as we may require some tests for evaluation. Watch your weight. If you are obese then try to lose weight by regular exercise. Eat fresh fruit, vegetables, whole wheat products and some pulses (high in purine) every day. Enjoy low-fat milk and dairy products daily. Keep an eye on the purine content of food. Avoid offal, shellfish and crustaceans and tinned fish such as sardines in oil. Uric acid diet should be relatively high in carbohydrates, moderate in protein and low in fat. Complex carbohydrates like whole grain cereals, fruits and vegetables contain fiber that can help in proper digestion of the foods and assimilation of the nutrients. Eat no more than 100 gm of meat, sausages, fish and poultry a day. Say no to alcohol and sweetened cold drinks. Fresh fruits like apples, bananas, oranges and lime are beneficial. Black cherries are considered to be beneficial in reducing uric acid levels. Drink at least two liters of low-calorie fluids a day. Recommended fluids are water, tea and fruit juice. Please note that normal uric acid levels in our body. Men 3.5 to 7.0 mg/dl, women 2.5 to 5.7 mg/dl.

Debunking 5 Myths of Thinning Hair

Debunking 5 Myths of Thinning Hair

Thinning of hair is a common problem among many and the desire to reverse hair loss is normal, but there is so much information about hair fall that it sometimes becomes difficult to fish out the credible ones. Here are some most common hair thinning myths that you need to know.

Myth#1 Brushing causes hair fall
This is one of the most common myths regarding hair loss. The moment people notice that their hair is thinning, they tend to reduce their number of hair washes and combing. This actually does not help with the issue at all and it also exaggerates the thinning because once a week wash will lead to 500 to 600 fallen strands. Regular hair wash will cause less hair fall each time and it is also healthy to keep your scalp clean to promote growth.

Myth#2 Color treatment causes hair fall
Any kind of treatment is fine as long as it does not hurt. Pain indicates that the follicles have been damaged. Hair extensions are likely to cause permanent damage because they pull on the hair, which might break the barrier that protects the follicles from bacteria. This can lead to dead follicles or alteration in the texture of the hair.

Myth#3 A lot of hair in your bathroom means your hair is thinning

It does not necessarily mean you will be experiencing thinning of hair anytime soon. Sudden hair fall may be caused due to lots of reasons, one of them being a vitamin deficiency. Consider visiting a healthcare professional to determine the cause and pursue a suitable treatment and that should lead your growth cycle right on track.

Myth#4 It all depends on your maternal grandfather's hair density
Gene does play an important role in how your hair sustains but it depends on either side of the family. Your larger family may have beautiful voluminous hair and still you might suffer from hair loss. In general, it has been noticed that if the family does not have hair problems, one is less likely to incur them.

How To Cure Dislocated Shoulder Injury?

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics, Fellowship in Arthroscopy & Arthroplasty Shoulder & Knee
Orthopedist, Gurgaon
How To Cure Dislocated Shoulder Injury?

When a blow or a fall causes an injury, where the top of your arm bone pops out from your shoulder socket, it’s called shoulder dislocation. It is a very painful condition and you need to get this relocated to its position immediately. The tissues and bone related to that particular joint get damaged.

If you ignore this situation or keep the shoulder like this, it will be more harmful and painful for you. There may appear a bump in front or at the back of your shoulder that hurts.

What can lead to a dislocated shoulder injury?

  • Sharp or a very fast twist of your arm.
  • Falling down on a hard surface.
  • A sudden hurt or hit.
  • It may also happen when you fall down and try to save yourself using your hand. The force of the hit indirectly gets into the shoulder and your shoulder joint may slip from its place.

In some of the outdoor games, there are high chances to get hurt in the shoulder. Hockey, football, rugby, rock climbing, volleyball etc. bring in high probabilities of injuring the shoulder, thereby resulting in a shoulder dislocation.

What is the treatment or therapy of a dislocated shoulder?

The dislocated shoulder should be very urgently treated. As this injury of the shoulder is very painful, you should consult to a specialized orthopaedist as fast as possible to fix up the shoulder to its proper joint. As it is very painful and swollen, the faster the treatment, the better it is. When your doctor fixes your shoulder in its actual place or the bone of your arm comes back to the socket, most of your pain will go away and you get huge relief from pain. After the shoulder bone is relocated, you can use further conservative treatment to reduce the pain and swelling of that place. Dislocated shoulder may take 3 to 12 weeks to recover. But this is the approximate time and it depends on the seriousness of the injury.

After the treatment, when all the symptoms are gone, the doctor will suggest some exercises for better results and normal shoulder movement and to prevent future shoulder injury. Ones the shoulder is dislocated, the chances of dislocation in future is further increased as the tissue supporting the head of humerus into its socket is torn. Such patients may land up with recurrent dislocation of shoulder wherein shoulder dislocates easily on specific movement and patients are afraid to do over-head activities. The problem is best diagnosed by MRI Scan.

The best treatment for this is Arthroscopic (Key-Hole Surgery) Bankart's Repair. Following operation shoulder is kept at rest for 2 weeks then Physiotherapy is started. Day to day activities are started after 2 weeks and sports activity is started after 3 to 5 months.

Beard is purely genetic make up. It could be a pituitary issue, hair follicle or their lack of, or could possible even be genetics. To make hair grow you need to stimulate, moisturize, and cleanse. Use a soft bristle scrub brush for the face and use circular motions using a eucalyptus, menthol, and/or peppermint type cleanser or lotion. The invigoration of the brush and cleanser/moisturizer will wake up that hair follicles and gives them a signal to produce. Make a mixture of Argan oil, Jojoba oil, sesame oil and olive oil and massage your beard and moustache daily to grow and maintain black and smooth hair.

I am feeling not well with pain in my leg problem doctors please assist me what to do I am only 33 years old.
When leg pain occurs after strenuous physical activity, you can simply apply cold compresses. This will help reduce the pain by numbing the affected area and control swelling and inflammation. 1. Wrap a few ice cubes (or a bag of frozen peas) in a thin towel. 2. Apply this pack on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes, while keeping the leg (s) elevated. 3. Do this a few times a day. Note: do not apply ice directly on the skin, as it may cause frostbite.

Shoulder pain can be a result of injury or disease of the shoulder joint. Injury can affect any of the ligaments, bursae, or tendons surrounding the shoulder joint. Injury can also affect the ligaments, cartilage, menisci and bones of the joint. Some minor shoulder pain can be treated at home. Icing the shoulder for 15 to 20 minutes, three or four times a day for two to three days can help reduce pain. Use an ice bag or wrap ice in a towel (putting ice directly on your skin can cause frostbite). Rest the shoulder and avoid any movements that might cause pain. Simple shoulder exercises can help to stretch and strengthen muscles and rotator cuff tendons. If you have severe pain please see a physiotherapist for pain relief modalities and to find out the root cause of your pain. Best wishes.
